I’m sorry, but if you’re reacting to ATEEZ, please stop the comparisons with other groups. It takes away from the main point which is to appreciate them for who THEY are, not who they compare to. This guide did not do them justice at all. The longer one (AlltheKennys) is the best ATEEZ guide by far.

Honestly, the leader isn’t even usually the oldest in alot of groups, even in Stray Kids. Before he left, Woojin is a few months older than Bang Chan. Nowadays they have lightsticks, which are fun accessories that are unique to each group, and can synchronise and light up to the songs played at concerts.

I wouldn't say Ateez is more dance focused It's just that they are one of the best dance groups in the industry so their choreography is usually very tough and explosive, cuz they can pull it off. Oh yeah no, age does not equal leader. I know u don't know them, but in BTS their leader is like 4th (out of 7), & in Enhypen their leader is actually the second youngest. To me it seems that Skz are actually an exception on that one too, seems like the leader is rarely the oldest

Looks like I'll be getting into Ateez at the same time as you. I started listening to their music a while ago but hadn't tried to learn their names or personalities cause I was still catching up on Skz content. Best way to pronounce names is if 2 vowels are together like sEOnghwa, the first vowel is silent and you usually just read the second vowel. If the name has an AE, the A is silent and the E is what you sound out. Double vowels hongjOONG are read pretty much the same way you pronounce double vowels.

Ateez are just mass chaos and loud as hell but I love them dearly. Their music/performances drew me and their lore made me stay. This guide doesn’t mention it but they have a pretty detailed, complex lore that you will see in most of their videos. Definitely worth looking at. But I’m so glad you took the time to start getting to know them. You won’t regret it. This guide doesn’t really do them justice. They also have a comeback in June. Anyways, thank you for this.

I recommend watching the performances of Kingdom: Legendary War. SKZ and Ateez are in it and there are some bomb ass performances in there (one that got Ryan Reynold‘s attention 😉 as well as a ballad with Seungmin and Jungho among others) and there‘s compilation videos of SKZ and Ateez interacting with each other which is pretty hilarious. thanxx for the reaction! this guide is alright, but if you're ever interested in watching another that isnt that long (even on your own time) then I reccommend either "A lighthearted guide to ATEEZ 2023 edition" by Tellinpa or "Introduction and guide to stanning ateez 2023" by dazzling8tiny. You're sort of right with noticing ATEEZ is "danced" focused, but rather than "dance" they are more oriented towards performance and emboiding what character they are trying to play in every song. They dont care of being told the faces they make on stage are not "pretty" in the eyes of the public which is why ATINY love/never get tired of watching their stages.

This guide was....really not the best....it felt more like a random little video for people in the fandom to watch because the facts were random and given without context and wouldn't make sense unless you already know a bit about the boys and the fandom. They also did not show any of the boys talents except for Jongho's singing. I know you said you didn't want to do a long video but Atiny would love a long video! If you personally don't want to because of technical dificulties ect. there is an abridged version of the 2 hour guide that is 30 minutes by ofallthekennys that gives more details about the guys personalities and shows off their talents a lot more.

First time watching your reaction and it was a lot of fun! Ateez is my favorite group. They are AMAZING! They are incredibly versatile musically and have a ton of bops to choose from. They can literally do ANY genre of music very well. And like you picked up on, they are famous for their incredible dance skills. They are also really good singers and their 2 main rappers are two of the best in kpop! While I don't really like their music, Ateez are a wonderful group of very beautiful young men. My favorite part of Kingdom: Legendary War was the interactions between SKZ, BtoB and Ateez. Changbin and Wooyoung are especially heart-warming.

It's common for the older/oldest members to be the leaders because I guess the companies assume they're more mature and would have better leadership skills, but it's not a requirement, sometimes they pick someone who's actually a good leader, regardless of their age, lol. And some groups don't have leaders at all! But that's more rare.

Having STRAY KIDS and ATEEZ as your intro to kpop is special, but not unusual. A lot of people disovers kpop through these two groups, because something in their sound and music just resounds in us westerners 😉😊 Their sound and style is very unlike your average kpop, in terms like they're more raw(?) They are also a lot more engaged in their own music and decisions made about their music, than most kpop groups. You may already know, just how much STRAY KIDS members are invovled with writing and producing their own music, ATEEZ too are very invovled. Captain HongJoong originally sought to become part of KQ entertainment as a producer, but well, ended up as an idol 😅 However, he works very closely with the KQ producer and writing crew, not only on ATEEZ's own music, but their kid brother group xikers, music as well 😉 HongJoong is a musician through and through 😊 So, don't be too surprised, when you start digging into other kpop groups and find the sounds and style completely different 😅 Personally, yeah, I would wait with getting into BTS too... I can actually recommend, maybe going generation by generation? Kpop started back in the early-mid 1990's and broke through internationally in late 2000's, however here in the West, we've only seem to start discovering it with BTS a couple of years ago, although its been HUGE in Asia, for the more than a decade 😅 Going by generation, you'll be able to really get the feel and understanding of the unique music style that kpop is. How it started out as mean of expressing dissatisfaction with the society, when South Koreans finally got their creative freedom (Seotaiji and boys, H.O.T) to be inspired by the Western boybands, like Backstreet Boys and N'Sync (SHINWHA), to slowly becoming it's own, unique style that it is today. There's a lot in kpop, both of South Korean history and politics, as well as music history and development. It's a lot more than 'just' music 😉

So I would not compare Ateez music to Skz. Skz is self-produced, kinda rough around the edges, a bit more experimental, and go much heavier on the rap/hip-hop/edm genres. Although Hongjoong does help produce, Ateez has the best production team in the biz. Edenary. Their music is a lot more polished than Skz and it has more of a cinematic atmosphere. Most of their tracks are ost quality. They're melodic and more vocal driven, but also grandiose and dark, especially for their more recent comebacks. Ateez screams Halloween vibes all year long and their sound design feels big. Skz are often in the vein of club/hype/noise music. Ateez tackles loads more genres and there's more variety. You can't really compare the two of them fairly. If Ateez was self-produced, then they could be judged evenly, but because they have expert producers behind them, it's not fair for Skz. No disrespect to Chris. I adore him, one of my favorite idols, but if you strictly compare the production, there's no contest. Edenary is gonna eat every time. It'd be like comparing Drake or Lamar to Hiroyuki Sawano or Hans Zimmer. They're not even in the same realm of music production and composition.

I think you will love to get to know NCT as well in the future, stanning them gives me energy pls The talent is obv there, expected from SM (SM stan here, Kwangya let's go) -Vocals don't disappoint cause that's what SM is known for to have the best vocally skilled idols like EXO or SHINee but they suprised the industry with their NCT members Taeyong (NCT leader, main rapper and main dancer) and Mark (NCT DREAM leader, main rapper and main dancer from Canada 🇨🇦 🍁) rappers, and honestly if you stan k-pop YOU CANNOT NOT KNOW Mark Lee, he's EVERYWHERE and so SM just THRIVES off of Mark so much that they debuted him COUNTLESS of times, poor hardworking and overworked man. It is so known that ppl joke that SM would debut him in girl groups or in new NCT units that would have all the members with names starting with J and SM would be like: here's the last member "Jark"😭💀💯✋️😞 Both TY and Mark are the members that take part in some track's songwriting as they're rappers and so they write their verses or producing and making their own songs/solos on the sides. There are some other members like KUN that explore that side of them as artists. Mostly SM does have inside house producers tho or they collaborate with foreign producers, but they have been giving more freedom to some idols and have been putting out their solo works more these days. NCT's music is just immaculate and somehow I would say STAYS and ATINYS are most likely to be NCTzens and like NCT and their music NCT for sure has one of my fav discographies, their b-sides don't lie Also I do have to say their humor and group synergy and interactions/connection is my fav, my fav description is frat house lmfaoo. Even in some of the music you'll just be vibing, bc not all music has to be deep as long as you enjoy and we need that sometimes and they for sure have those (my example is OK by NCT U with lyrics "My baby said she wanna dance with a ghost she wants to leave me yuh"😂😂 beat and music slaps tho all the vibes you could twerk to like "Saturday Drip") People mostly associate their music with "noise" and "futuristic" but I would say in the best way possible it's just their "Neo" energy. "Let me introduce you to some new thangs, new thangs" - "Kick It". But honestly they have variety of different styles that I'm sure ANYBODY would find something for themselves Overall it's a hole ass ride cause there are 20 members structured into units like NCT 127, NCT DREAM, WayV (NCT chinese unit) and incoming NCT japanese unit as well as NCT U which is a rotational unit where any of the 20 members can join the song depending on who fits the concept and all best, so in every NCT U songs, there is a different mix and number of members. NCT debuted in 2016 and for 3 years now they had 23 members but in this month 3 currently left to either continue with solo activities (Lucas) or continue their journey in another future group (Shotaro & Sungchan) YET still all 3 stay in SM Entertainment But TRUST me that this number of members just makes it fun and they're chaotic as well as talented and ALL are visuals. There is so much content both musically/artistically and funny content way. It could never get boring and they're a mess.
