Call your friends and family. Tell them to listen to him. I am so tired of seeing our children in $500 sneakers and jeans. $1200 I-Phones and live in the projects and in trouble in school every month. SMH

When I was little and found out some kids received an allowance I was mad. I asked my mother why she didn't give me an allowance and she said, "You have everything you need. And if you need something, I get it for you." That was true. Of course I didn't realize back then that we were "low income" and she didn't have extra money to give me cash. And I really didn't want for anything, so she was right, I didn't need money until junior high for lunch.

I agree Anthony. Children need to be taught. Skills are important. How are you going to know how to clean your own house when you get it, if you aren't taught how to, prior to getting it.

I do get my children money for high honors they’re in the honor society and I give them $40 for continuing to have their GPA high. I also educate them knowing that the more they study the better grades they have colleges universities companies business will give them money to Study so they can get a degree, I also educated them and let them know that I will not be paying for the college education. They would have to do it themselves.

Made some major financial mistakes in my 50s as I became a caregiver to grandmother, then mother (passed from ALS), now stepdad has dementia. Had a to leave a good job and used money cover loved ones bad financial decisions because didn't have life ins/burial money. Now at 60 I'm afraid I'm one of those folks that may have to work beyond retirement age. Is there still hope?😮‍💨

This is very generalized advice, but you HAVE to get more margin in your life. There's only 2 ways to do that- Cut your expenses or increase your income ( or do both). That might mean looking for a new job, looking at how you can reduce expenses in your side business to increase your profit margin/income from that, and/or looking at your current budget very honestly and objectively to see if there is anyway you can reduce your expenses. It will feel like sacrifice, but you have to do it to get out of your rut.

If you can, start investing some money. Start with 401K up to the match at least. If your company offers something that resembles the S&P 500. Put your money there and let it ride. You will thank me years from now. It works.

money stats are doom when you look at ADHD tax. i deal with that for my 22 year old and manage the budget. it is EXHAUSTING!! lots of people have undiagnosed ADHD or something else and hence why their money is all over the place. i gave my 22 year old an option of staying home for community college/trade school or move out....PERIODT!
