Calling Euroleague players BUSTS just because they didnt get a chance in the NBA is really rude and shows a clickbait type of video. Sorry but these are facts and players such as Vezenkov are AMAZING!

@Courtsidetalks
@Courtsidetalks 3 дня назад
@@partizanbettter A player is a bust if he gets a chance to show what he can do, like Caboclo was a bust for Partizan, or Kaminsky, or Jaleen Smith etc… with little to no impact on the team. If you get a 2min chance per game while coming off the Euroleague as the MVP, thats not a bust, thats a waste of time.

Maybe the stigma wears of as more and more players experience both Europe and USA. I think about places like OKC, Minnesota or Detroit as places where many would choose an Euroleague team with half the salary. Just to live... well not in Salt Lake City.

those are all cities with some nice areas. If you are on an NBA players salary you can live like a king in those places. A lot cheaper then New York, LA, London, etc..

Okay, this is getting ridiculous. I think it's time to decide which audience you want to address in your videos. In the title you mention "busts" and then you proceed to talk about "borderline NBA players", you mentioned Vezenkov who is a prime Euroleague player (and has been for the past 3 or something years) and 3 2-round draft picks. How the hell anyone of these could be considered a bust??? A recent example of a bust was Anthony Bennett, who absolutely tanked his time in Fenerbache and left after like 5-10 games. Caboclo could be another example but you never mentioned them. Let's talk about the actual topic. The players you mentioned that succeed in the Euroleague (Larkin, Baldwin) were players who didn't get the playing time they should get in the NBA, whereas Wesley Johnson who was a very well-respected role player who played solid minutes in NBA, was afwul in the Euroleauge. The most important thing that differentiates success or failure of NBA guys in the Euroleague is hunger and passion. I'm a Panathinaikos fan, I've been watching Panathinaikos play for the last 15 years and I can tell you all of our failed past-NBA players saw playing in the Euroleague as a chore (Fridette, Johnson, D. Williams) and that's why they never did anything remarkable. Players like Mike James, Larkin, Baldwin came to Europe to prove something , you see they got this "dog in them" as Americans say. The only exception to this type of causes is Nunn, who was well respected in the NBA and actually got playing time, but I guess he too has something to prove if I judge from he's mentality. PS: "and let me remind you that the game in Europe is 40 minutes..." 🤡🤡. Decide which your audience is. The last years you have been making videos that treat Euroleague as a lesser competition and "in danger" every summer and when the season starts you gas Euroleague up. It's not bad that you aiming for a bigger audience (US) but you have to respect us and most importantly our game.

"who didn't get the playing time they should get in the NBA" Every player who has ever been a bust in the NBA, except maybe lottery picks, will say the same thing, that they didn't get the time they should have to show their talent. You know it's not just game time, there is reasons why players (not including lottery picks) get playing time in the NBA. It's what the coaches see in exhibitions, scrimmages, practice, garbage time, the few minutes they do play that determines who gets the playing time they should get in the NBA.
@archer_twentytwo
@archer_twentytwo 3 дня назад
@@gabepizza Sure. I mostly want to say "who didn't get the playing time they *think they* should get in the NBA". But the point still remains. Also think about Mike James, after parting ways with CSKA he went to BKN and played tremendously, he has the talent to be in the NBA (and if you ask me, he has the talent to may be a starter) but the problem is his height. Every player of the NBA-rejects I mentioned is in Europe not because their coaches hated them and did play them, but for a variety of reasons, athleticism, injury proneness, work ethic, height and even luck. While I agree with your point, I don't quite understand why you think that making this distinction is something so important that you have to say it in two different comment threads.

@Sceptile24 Bust is a term used for draft picks. He was unsuccessful yes, personally I don't think he deserves the hype. But still, I don't get how this matters in the discussion...

I hate seeing European talent leave without even playing in the Euroleague. Back in the day they'd at least play a season or 2 before leaving for the NBA, now they don't even do that. This will only get worse if we keep bringing in ex nba players.
