Ngl he’s the Jay-Z of the nba 😂 most overrated of all time and idk how u could get anybody on your side if they don’t already agree that he was amazing lol
They are ignorant. They said Duncan is from the ‘90s. But his main decades were 2000s and 2010s. Duncan is top 7 all time. AD? I wouldn’t list him top 75.
@@DontSleepOnTheNap You would right if you wouldn’t look at his resume, accolades and if you wouldn’t consider that the Spurs were a dynasty for like one and a half decades. His game isn’t pretty but the Numbers don’t lie! He is the undisputed best and greatest power forward ever no if, buts or maybes.
Tim Duncan is a top five player of all time, but AD does have a more diverse offensive skill set, but does not make him a better player than Tim Duncan
@justtimes9257 calm down Tim Duncan cheerleader smh Tim Duncanwas the best system player of all time he had greg popivich and Tony Parker and ginobli his whole carer Duncan is not a better scorer or shooter than Anthony Davis
@@darnellwilliams8783TD was by far a more consistent scorer but AD is deftly a more diverse scorer. It's like comparing a scorer like Jamal Crawford vs a scorer DeRozan
guys like bam and ad played solid defense but jokic was just having his way cause that’s just how the game goes, wish more people would realize this when they doing podcasts
To be fair he wasn't totally wrong to put Bam on top, if he's talking about dealing with a team with Jokic. Bam has the edge on offence while Rudy is one of the greatest defender of all time. All things considered, Rudy would be the better value player, but against Jokic's team, Bam with the edge on offence might be able to make up for that 5-10 points gap compare to Rudy.
@@klasports8801 ppl need to realize you can't shutdown guys like jokic prime lebron Jordan Kobe magic curry they will find a way to effect the game somehow
Tim Duncan is such a weird player. Man had a near quadruple double in game 6 of the finals and I bet no one noticed until they looked at the score board. Dude was a silent assassin.
Why do people never bring up the fact that shaq played against hakeem in the finals when he was 22 years old in his 3rd year in the league when hakeem was in his prime ? It’s like y’all just ignore all context lol… it would have been a lot different if they where both in there 10th season
@@zoobiezaaeveryone knows the context shaq was one of the best centers at that time it was a legit conversation averaging 2.4 blocks per game this wasn’t a rookie a shaq this was an emerging shaq
Its crazy cause every one payed attention to curry and ai part of the quote but didn’t even listen to the full video when he literally said “we already know what Jordan did for the game” they was just looking for a reason to hate
Yes its 100% a purpose full omission I mean dude even uses red to outline his take. He knows 95% won't fact check him so he gets away with it or if anything it gets more clicks and views because he capped
Cold part about the whole Bam Vs Gobert argument with Shaq and Mario Chalmers is that Jokic averaged 30 against Bam and 26 against Rudy😂 it ain’t 15 but it’s fosho better than 30 lol
“If you wanna be a great defender, hold Jokic to 15 points” my brotha then who is a good defender because in those same games, he’s shooting under 10 shots and being efficient with those 10 shots as well as not to mention having 10+ assists. If jokic wanted to average 35+ points in a season, he could if he wanted to but he doesn’t because that’s not how he plays basketball.
You already got enough ignorance in basketball and now you got people on one of the most brain rotting apps that only makes people attention span worse talking ball😂 prayers for the basketball community 🙏
not even remotely true. The NBA wouldnt even be a THING if it weren't for Magic and Bird. MJ doesnt come close to them in terms of impact on the business
@@deadlylightningspirit4295 Bird and Magic saved NBA Jordan made it international. Jordan got it so international that the dictator Kim Jun Un (I probably spelled his name wrong) was a Bulls fan. Jordan inspired millions upon millions to want to pick up the basketball. He's your favorite player's favorite player.
Michael jordan had a much bigger impact on how the game is played than Curry and it's not even remotely close. Wasn't until Michael Jordan came around that the league believed hat you could win without a great big man. He was also instrumental in loosening the carrying rules everyone takes for granted now and the league literally named a rule after Jordan to try to limit his unbelievable Iso play.
@@mr.johnsto again he sped up the process of it going international. He didn’t personally make the league go international. Being someone’s favorite player means absolutely nothing (and it’s not true) changing the way the game is played is infinitely more influential than being a celebrity because you’re more flashy than a bunch of coke heads
I think that help defense not being “real defense” is the worst take i’ve ever heard from Shaq. If you can’t play help defense then that will COST your team. Giannis saved his championship run because of his help defense on Deandre and Booker. Lebron saved his championship run because of his help defense on Iguodala. I’ve seen so many games be lost (ones i’ve played, and ones i’ve watched.) because the players didn’t play help defense, with the excuse being “That’s not my man”. If a player is torching the guy guarding them then HELP OUT, try to cut them off in the lane and steal the ball, etc. Mj is a top 5 defender OAT because of help D imo, if you looked away for a second he would run up and steal the ball from behind you. If you shot a turnaround on your man, he would block the shot on the weak side.
No they didn't he said. "We already know what jordan did for the league" and and then brushed it off like it was nothing and said "but curry and AI are the 2 most influential since i've been watching basketball."
When people bring up shoe sales in basketball debates, its over. Shit has nothing to do with influencing the game. If you wanna argue it changed culture, fine, but it by no means changed how the game was played, and I'm not sure how one even does the mental gymnastics to argue as such
The last take was horrible, bc in the original statement bron made the convo he was having with JJ Redick was influence on the GAME and right b4 he mentioned Steph and Ai bron said “and we know what Jordan did for the game”
17:17 nah Bron was definitely talking about most influential for the game of basketball. All bro’s examples for jordan’s case had nothing to do with the game itself. Jordan probably the most influential outside the game of basketball but for the game itself its most definitely Curry and AI
Give me Tm Duncan...AD had to join the best player to win a bubble ring and Tim had to go through the best players (Shaq, kobe, dirk, kd, Westbrook, Bron and Wade) to get his rings
Of course it's taken out of context, you gotta be able to have common sense to understand the context of the conversation. Jordan fans don't have that ability.
The amount of AD glazing is crazy. "When he's healthy, when he's healthy." Well, that dude can't stay healthy, so too bad. McGrady is one of the greatest basketball players of all time when healthy, but he rarely was. Brandon Roy was one of the toughest players to guard when healthy, but he hardly was. Their availability is part of their legacy.
Literally look at the league today at you can see ai and Stephs influence just as much as jordans and kobes jordan and kobe fans really take every single to heart its like they think someones putting steph and ai over them influence and best aren't the same
Shaq Logic Literally doesn’t work in any circumstances even great defenders against him couldnt hold him under 20 so to 15 is beyond insane and straight up disingenuous to great defenders
I think the NBA community has no understanding of how to compare players. You'd think with all these player podcasts stories, people would learn that theirs more to the game than rolling the ball out and great players blasting through everything.
Hot Take: Most people's judgement of defense is too unfair and superficial to be taken seriously. All people ever tend to do is judge a player's entire defensive acumen based on their ability to guard like 3 main people within their position, and those people always tend to be extremely talented players that cannot be guarded. It's like when everyone swears that Curry is a "bad/horrible defender" because he can't guard Kyrie. Like who TF can? Being able to guard unguardable players should be noteworthy and praised, but it should bolster a defensive identity, not make or break it. Kawhi and Draymond are certified generational defensive talents, can and will lock up most players 1-4. But they've also been barbecued by KD, Steph, Bron, etc. Give more credit to players that actually show effort and consistency on defense, regardless of the outcomes
Tbf a lot of it is purposely done to hype up older generations when the better defensive players could actually still do something against the better offensive players
I know since Sage is a Lakers fan and AD fan, he be hating on Giannis, but Giannis really got it out the mud. like. HE REALLY GOT IT OUT THE MUD. So thats why us giannis fans go so hard for him
Bron was talking about how the game is played and the culture of people who play basketball when he mentioned Steph and Iverson. He wasn't talking about the general scope of how sports and basketball fit into the popular culture of the rest of the world. That would be Jordan no question. But people just taking this clip and running with it and misinterpreting what they were talking about.
Nah personally I agree with the first take, AD is a better scorer than Duncan, all the stats + film show that. Duncan is still miles ahead as a complete player but AD is just flat out the better scorer.
You have to actually be brain dead to argue, Steph and AI considering both of them said they were inspired by Michael Jordan. Jordan literally is the reason why teams are now built with wings as their best players. It wasn't something as simple as shooting more. It was literally making people think that they don't need a great big men to win anymore. People really don't seem to remember how fucking popular michael jordan was. He's still more famous than anybody in the NBA today by a LOT 😂
“People don’t seem to remember how popular MJ was” u got to be fucking kidding everyone knows how popular Mj was stop that shi but Steph curry literally changed the whole entire game better than Jordan and name the last team that won with a wing as their best player not named raptors(Kawhi) or warriors(KD) if a wing is your best player your chances of winning is low which is y the Celtics and Suns haven’t won
@@whenisdinner2137 literally no one acts like mj is just some old guy in the prime of brons career 30% of people said a 59 year old mj could beat him in a 1v1 right then and there he’s literally the most protected figure in all of sports
Shaq and Mario was comparing bam and gobert because after Mario says bam is top 25 he said he would give him DPOY this year and that’s why they started talkin bout gobert because gobert is the front runner for the award rn and they feel like he shouldn’t be because he feels like gobert is overrated defensively.
Lebron literally said before that quote that obviously mj is mj and we know what he's done. Mfs don't even try to listen when it comes to their daddy Micheal Jordan
bro i was about to click off and watch later at work bc i thought it was someone pretending to be flight and then right as i went off unc came in and i instantly had to come back
The bam take is good asf. Bam hella underrated on the defensive end and he’s the best defender in the league for my money Edit: BAM CAN. BAM CAN GUARD STEPH ON A SWITCH N I SEEN HIM DO IT
It’s not even just that most obviously if you get switched onto a great player there gonna score but I trust bam to get a stop on curry way more then I trust Rudy to and that’s a problem cause he has 4 dpoy even though his really a one dimensional defender who can only really block shots at the rim when his teammates funnel them to him
Jordan changed the NBA and basketball as a brand, made it global and loved all around the world. AI changed basketball to have more expression and to showcase the players as themselves in fashion and playstyle. Steph changed the way we think around basketball and just like what sage said, as long as the 3 > 2 basketball will continue to follow the path steph and the warriors made. All in all, unc and bron got a point
Shaqs take wasn’t bad just how he says it isn’t good his take was he doesn’t think gobert is as good as a defender cause his defense comes from help side not being one on one with the player and someone like bam takes the player one on one and wins a lot of matchups
Nothing shaq said about rudy was all that crazy except the joker thing. He gets paid basically much as Joel Embiid and joker, but can do almost nothing that they can offensively is the point, so his defense should have to be that insane to make up for it. And it's not.
The Jordan take was a bad take because I think that Bron and JJ meant that steph and AI changed the game for other NBA players. Mj was super influential to the fans but other SG’s weren’t suddenly practicing fadeaways. AI made other small PG’s tighten their handles and steph made all positions improve their shooting. They were the most influential on the GAME. Mj was the most influential on the fans and as the face of the league.
That's literally what they said, you have more players in the league playing like AI and Steph than Jordan and not just the league. The average man is 5'8, what player under 6'5 is playing like Jordan? These Jordan fans man.
