I've JUST started my second semester in Advertising Design and I'm taking my Illustrator course this time around. I cannot wait to try to utilize what I learn from you in my class. Your vids are super helpful.
Love watching your vids in the morning with my coffee, the way you present is so thoughtful and interesting. Thanks for sharing your creative brain with us
satori please reply!!! can I extend the size of any design like menu card or brochure because sometimes text becomes too high which can't stick in that size
Shadow Quality is not bad, actually they pretty awesome if you just turn on Ray tracing in 3D Panel. It is a small icon in top right. Just turn it on and boom, you will see some very dope realistic shadows. Ray tracing unlocks a whole new side of the new 3D features. I hoped you will explore them in some other video. Cheers
I am usually v stupid with 3 D design, but your video help me much to get into this. Simple technique to play with 3 D font in AI, very cool n really appreciate you teaching us n give so detailed into😃 thx so much Tom😃 I always check out your video to learn design trend from you😁
Had no idea illustrator had added some 3d text tools. I was going to try and learn some Blender for this but its way too complex for something simple like type extrusion.
I'm so proud of adobe for this. I remember using the 3d function b maybe 10 years ago, it was so horrible 😭😭. Has anyone used the Adobe 3D Substance app yet?
This is great, I have been playing with the new 3D, I still think the Map Art feature in the 3D Classic it’s a much better way to place your art, I know the new 3D and material has on canvas controls, like you said it’s a bit clunky. And now with introducing 3D Substance it might limit what we can do, in terms of material selection.🙏
I don't like these new features as they are not pure vector based, but pixel renders, so to me it is not an upgrade, just complementary features. I will use the old 3D extrudes, not as fancy, but way more integrated into Illustrator workflow
That's not mind blowing but an acceptable addition that was supposed to be in such a creative suite for a long time. If someone wants to dig deep into 3d design I don't think it's wise to consider illustrator.. Something like blender which is free will give you the best results possible.
Did you really just knew about it 9days ago, or you already knew about it since the last Adobe Max but only got the time to make a video about it 9 days ago?
Call me nuts, but I don‘t think that Illustrator really needs such 3D tools… especially with complex texture material and raytracing. To a certain extend it should have 3D tools to speed up a design and drawing process, but with respect to vector illustrations and its „limits“. For instance realistic soft shadows: Doesn‘t make too much sense to me. I would expect a crisp and sharp shadow shape… that could even stay in a vector format. Yep, may sound old-school, but that‘s the main purpose to use Illustrator anyway.
Yes and no. Blender is am amazingly awesome program, considering it's free as well. However, this video is aimed at people who can use Ai and don't want to spend the many hours required to learn a new program
Not being bias but the amount of FREE content at the channel is just amazing. I didn't have this opportunity in my days. Click like and subscript is the very least you could do if you want this kind of content to keep flowing for free. Big thank you
Features no one asked for, no one needs for in 2d illustration program, and which will slow down your computer. I better hurry up and renew my monthly subscription. Thanks Adobe.
