Having Vegapunk say "now I don't know much but..." *9 hours later* "And that's what JoyBoy's aunt had for dinner that day. As you can see we are just scratching the surface of what mysteries have been hidden by the World Government." would be very much in character.

7:16 - To be fair, even though VC is far more important to the world as a whole, this is Luffy's story first and foremost. Roger is much more central to his goals and inspirations as a protagonist, so getting Joy Boy lore first doesn't seem inappropriate.
So so so goddamn funny for him to just tell, *THE ENTIRE WORLD,* that The Void Century is a real thing, about the poneglyphs, and soon, other things that these old bastards and Emu don't want people knowing about. He really said, "You finally killed my ass? Fine, but I'm leaking ALL your shit."

I wanna hear the discussion after the end of the Arc, where all the Gorosei are shitting on Saturn for sucking so much this whole arc. "YOU COULDN'T EVEN KILL THE PETTTT ?!?!?!"
This chapter got me thinking. Doffy did not find anything out. He just took a shot in the dark and hit the jackpot. Imu does not know how he knows, Doffy does not know how he knows, all they know is he knows.
4:17 I loved seeing Chou Chou and the Mayor of Orange Town again so much. It felt like a micro victory lap, and it keeps to the main appeal of OP, that this is a living world where shit outside the MCs is happening
All of the Weakling Trio is the MVP, sure, but I'mma say Chopper is just a little bit more MVP than the rest. My man got basically sodomized by a giant poison claw and then literally walked over. He just tanked the whole thing like a boss. He really needs to Awaken his Fruit already. He's way overdue.
imagine he loses himself to the nature of the awakened zoan and it turns out the nature of the zoan is just a normal peasant man who wants to till his fields and have a large crop of homely children
The reason I think Saint Shalria doesn’t know about what happened in the void century is because Doflamingo probably knows. After Donquixote Homing left Mary Geoise, the celestial dragons probably stopped teaching their kids about it in case their children followed homing’s example or just revealed the secrets of the void century as a flex on commoners.
You at least have to give St Ethanbaron some credit for having the largest back among the elders, because he is *carrying* the rest of those geezers, I’m fairly confident he’s the only one that actually achieved anything they tried to do on Egghead
I think the celestrial dragons are probably kept in the dark on the void century. They likely have zero interest if they had some knowledge as far as it existing, considering how detached they are from the world and what usually happens in it. You kinda see it with Doflamingo's back story with his dad and how ignorant he was.
a couple things. i think that they are not showing sauls face because he could be the man marked by flames that was mentioned whenever it was mentiond (end of wano???) also i think its crazy how Oda teased us with one of the most desired flashbacks and lore dumps of the series (God Valley) and then said nah instead we talking about this man who misses his daughter and you will like it, and then collectively almost everyone forgot that they were mad about not getting God Valley.
With God's Valley and Void Century flashbacks it feels like cutcenes from two different routes. Luffy is currently on the World Government route and is getting info and development there while God's Valley is most likely on Blackbeard's route and we'll get that once they finally butt heads properly.
I think Brook might have the saddest backstory because he witnessed his first captain die, failed to keep his crew alive, and lived with the knowledge that poor whale boy was still waiting
I don't know why, but I just had an image flash through my head of Luffy turning himself into a literal slingshot in G5, and having Usopp use Luffy to slingshot the pig into space doing the Team Rocket blast off effect.
0:28 Oh because that's the Hokage logic of "let's have our STRONGEST Ninja do full-on paperwork. Not signature or review stuff but full on drafting to ending"
@Jon_EL does he even do that? And what about all the other Hokage? And why don't they just hire someone trusted to do most of the paperwork and leave the final signature and rubber stamping to the Hokage?
None of the Wardens at Impel down are good people tbh. Anyway in the first volume of one piece Oda includes supplementary material about Viking as the predecessors to pirates so, the first pirate being joyboy makes sense. And imo the point about the celestial dragon not knowing will mostly be to emphasize how incompetent and uncaring the celestial dragons are even when it comes to understanding and maintaining their power and status.
the story wants us to think they are, but they enforce the World Government's laws with torture and terror. I'm not really a prison abolitionist IRL, but Impel Down is the fucking worst.
Hell Im sure even Sakasuki regrets turning ace into a donut considering how the fleet admiral gig turned out to be. the man has been miserable since the timeskip lmao.
I think Doflamingo might still have some sort of status to give him the royal treatment. When he was a warlord he shouldn't have had so much political power to manipulate the newspaper. So he probably has a connection by friend or threat to keep him safer in the government's hands.
I think he isn't showing saul's face is because it's implied that he is the man with the burn scar who has the final road ponegliph without confirming it
We technically already got a redeemed celestial dragon (Saint Donquixote Mjosgard) so I would not really see it as a problem if others (like for example Shalria) would start to behave more like Mjosgard and less like Charlos
Yeah, Oda had been pretty consistent with no group of people being purely good or purely evil (pirates, marines, fishmen, etc.) it’s all just individuals with different ideologies and goals. I mean, I could buy all the gorosei being evil, but it would be weird for the hundreds of thousands of nobles up there to ALL be irredeemable selfish assholes
The fact that Mars is consistently just "you know what’s a great solution, genocide; genocide I think is the answer here" and Saturn’s tearkng his hair out repeatedly going _"No, you dumbfuck, we need the Mother Flame"_ is hilarious to me. Saturn got the leader/face position with this arc, now he gets to be the wrangler for the other four.
That panel with Doffy really hit me close to home due to the current events going on down here in the south of Brazil with the flood I was stuck looking at it for a bit with how weird that felt
I think what the celestial dragons not knowing about the void century is to them there was no void century. It's called the void century because it's a point in history no one has information about but the celetial dragon do know about that point which is why she was confused when there was a mention of a void century cause to them such point doesn't exist and is probably just a century
The funniest part of this chapter was before it came out. Part of the leaks said Vegapunk says “Mother Flame” is spelled “M-O-T-H-E-R F-L-A-M-E” and not “F-R-A-M-E”. But since it was one of the only things we knew from the leaks, the Vegapunk slander went CRAZY. “I don’t know what the ancient kingdom was called, but I can tell you how to spell it” Imu, sweating: WHAT DOES HE KNOW?!?
I actually can see getting a void century flashback before we get a God Valley flashback. Since I assume that whatever happened in the Void Century has something to do with the God Valley Incident hence the Rocks Pirates being there. So getting to know at least some of the background of the Void century would let us know what happened. Like if God Valley involved the revealing of a secret asset, the flashback is how we'd find out it got there. That kind of thing.
8:27 Artur of library of Ohara has a really good theory about that robot being lunarian powered technology. And gear 5 white hair reminds me of Lunarian... only thing missing wings and fire.
@@Josuegurrola The steroids seem to be modern. No real reason they wouldn't be. Even more so since they seem to be known about and not lost to time or buried like most things from the void or before.
I think that the setup for the celestial dragons is gonna be that the younger generation of celestial dragons will realize how fucked up what the older generations did and maybe try to change the system from within? Maybe we'll get a few chapters of some Celestial dragons trying to open the gates for Mariejois so people don't all die in the great flood
I think the CDs not knowing about the Void Century could play out like season 1 of Hazbin Hotel. Heaven was vastly kept in the dark, and only the few enforcers swept the truth under the rug to preserve the image of purity in their status. Once the truth gets out a bit, its hard to maintain that image.
1:33 I would talk with DOffy too. he seems like a real fun to convo with. he a bellend but if he is cuffed and cant be the psycho he is, talking is fine for me. I d enjoy him.
think about how much history people don't know now in a society where information is freer than it ever has been in One Piece. Makes sense to me. Like heck I know much about the years 1124-1224
I’m so glad that I’m not the only one whose wonder where tf that robot went. Mans pulled up said “I’m Sorry JoyBoy” big and dramatic as a cliffhanger and then proceeded to do sweet fa and draw circles in the sandbox for the rest of the arc so far.
I don't think saturn ran away because he was afraid of the weaker straw hats. He ran away because stopping the rest of vegapunk's message is way more important to them than beating the straw hats right now.
You bring up a good point with Akainu it's starting to feel like a huge mistake to not give fleet admiral to Aokiji who probably wouldn't mind desk duty and most likely not join black beard and you could send Akainu to absolutely NUKE Egghead
We do see the ancient robot on the last panel of the chapter, with the marine fleet attacking him. Also Saturn didn't run from Nami and Usopp, I think it's more about not wasting his time rn, but yeah Chopper tanking his hits is still a huge blast to his credibility. Still it won't be very One Piece if he just had his way and killed Robin before going to the lab
It could be cause by the mother flame explosion... As a _programmed_ vengeance from VegaGod... Never mess with the smart guy... _You will literally never see him coming._
It feels like the gorosei maybe haven't developed as fighters (or maybe atrophied due to inactivity) and rely on their OP mythical Zoans. Except maybe sword centaur grandpa.
The way I saw that panel of the Celestial Dragon that didn't know the void century was just to show how truly ignorant they are about the world at large despite being at the top of the world, both metephorical and literal LOL. But who knows, maybe Oda has something up his sleeve. the character that i feel like is getting set up to be "Redeemed." is Akainu. I don't think he does a complete heel turn regarding the navy, but seeing his idea of Absolute Justice being in service of these pompous asshats and their laws might make him turn his back on the celestial dragons at least. I don't know if Oda would do that, but Akainu looks so fed up and dejected the last few times he has shown up. if that does happen i doubt he pulls a kuzan, but maybe steps down and goes and joins sword as a merc or something LOL. at the very, very least, I hope he stops working the celestial dragons.
I think Oda may be hiding Sauls face to still keep it a posibility hes the man marked by flames. He could be badly burned or something. I dont think he is the man marked by flames, but many people have had this theory, so Oda may just be egging those people on.
Guess we're going to forget that Mjosgard and Homing were Celestial Dragons who reformed, so the Celestial Dragon (Shalulia, I think it was? She got beat up in Sabaody, likely the start of her wake up call) being conflicted isn't out of the ordinary.
