Hello, none of the pedals are clones of the RAT or the Klon, visually they are inspired by those pedals along with the names but the circuits are totally unique in these pedals and the sound you can get out of them have those pedals theme in mind but not clones by any means, hope this helps explain the confusion.
One thing we can call agree on: Pete knows his way around some knobs. And the movie Baby Driver, which is terrible, is being conflated with the movie Drive, which is awesome, and stars Ryan Gosling.
You've got those movies mixed up; Baby Driver was an excellent modern take on a heist movie that perfectly balanced the line between comedy and action-thriller. Drive with Ryan Gosling was a seven hour long nonsensical snoozefest with no charm, no personality, no plot, and no point.
@@shnobeltoneI’ve watched a ton of your videos over the years. As a Vox user, your demos give me a great idea of what to expect. These all sound great. I think the daily driver boost will find its way on my board soon
It's not hard to get rid of thr fuzziness of a rat, just crank the volume knob to 3 o'clock or above and set the gain lower on it. The issue is more rats based pedals don't like being played at lower volumes. It changes the overall dynamics and tone of them. It was a pedal designed and of a different time when people weren't afraid of playing really really loud. I dont know how many videos I've watched from this company that involve a rat clone where they rid the volume under half the entire video. They don't really work that way.
Thank you for your input on the rat pedal, im the maker of these pedals and the Ratatouille is not a Rat clone, the look was inspired by the Rat pedal but the circuit is all original and shares nothing with the Rat pedal, the Ratatouille has a lot of volume output on tap and half way on the volume is a lot of level pushing the amp already.
It's completely aimed at the shop and not your pedals at all. It is more they dismiss a lot of rat clones without opening them up volume wise. But I also understand that they are gear towards the lower volume home player and not as much the gigging musician.
Wow, I never realised I needed a pedal that emulates the length of a cable..... STFU!!!! Ok, for a laugh I had to go check the price.... 90 quid!?!?!?! Seriously? Are you people freaking crazy! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I own quite a few Shnobel Tone pedals, and they are all fantastic. I see people complain about the price tag, and I think that it's an unfair observation. Unless you've tried them yourself, gigged them and relied on them for studio and Live, you don't know how fairly priced these are. They are 100% worth every penny.
@@sillysausage4549 he has his own review channel, methinks he has an ulterior motive for jumping to Shnobel pedals defense. It’s almost as if he was personally insulted by someone criticizing them.
Roman here the maker of the Ratatouille pedal, it is not a Rat clone, I probably need to clarify that more on the description of the pedal on my website, the look is inspired by the Rat but the circuit is all original and shares nothing with the actual Rat circuit, hope that clears things up.
Ooh oh oh oh... wait... it's got that classic... ermm... urr.. jesus I can't remember... oog.. I know this... no clues... no clues... Yes!!! I remember.... a Tube Screamer.
mr shnobeo sold many a big sky before this. great to see him back. just fell in love with a jam rattler. as mr j leonard told me in his vid it sounds quite different from his og rat. heres my point: this vid style is quite useless to me. comments like „thats a great sounding pedal!“ „what a great sounding amp and my chronic lack of guitar danes are no use in deciding how that new all black product compares to industry standards. i got my „oh new…wanna have bug“ under control. i sold expensive wine. you have to compare it to something to show its quality and lead the customer to an informed decision. you have am all. define some standards. a cheap pedal, a middle and a unique. run the new against it. this is just hype generating infommercial making me feel bad about my guitar skills. not useful. rant over. i go practice. unplugged.
LOL- You can't drop in for one pedal review and then complain because you don't know what the other pedals sound like- how ridiculous. If they wasted time in every video doing what you're talking about- 1. their videos would be far too long and 2. it's a waste of time considering the vast majority of their viewers already know what the industry standards are, what they sound like, as well as what they cost. In fact, most of us already own a few of them. If you are a noob like yourself then there's a whole library of videos from Andertons showcasing those other pedals in detail- as well as countless other channels where you learn everything from the history of the circuit to what famous songs it was used on.
@@stoneysdead689 yes i can. btw, i appreciate you calling me a noob. funny how we got so close so fast. yes i still am a noob. since ´94 when i saw jennifer batten demo the rp1 (or gsp2101) in person. sat 2h in a pizzeria next to her afterwards. because you are so mean to me i wont tell you what she told me ´bout kurt cobain. since then ive been into electric guitar, tech and the sales of it. and yes thats exactly what i do: i come here, drop in and say: SINGLE PEDAL REVIEWS ARE COMPLETELEY USELESS. other than producing hype and GAS. "it sounds SO GOOOOOD!" the Art of proper comparisons videos is dying. doesnt generate as much income, eh? thats sad. buy try, send back. That kills the small shops. 1.: i LOVE long videos. i have attention span. and TPS is doing well right? 2.: I lmfao: youre saying having e.g. a rat or a bluesdriver AT HOME ,enables you to informedley judge some fancy new drive pedal you see in a single pedal review? AHAHAHAHAHAHA! i refrain from returning the favour of calling you names. cheers, you made my day. i have nothing against andertons. their fun. they have to sell. its an infomercial. its ok. its just useless. That blind test they did with the fuzzes: i´m all in for that. if we had danish pete be amazing for 15 sec less per pedal and instead just A/B the new pedal against a known obtainable standard pedal you could get an idea how the new one actually differs. yes, this is sales, not engineering. sorry. i prefer the lab approach. but some decide on their pedal brand by colour....you do you. happy buying and trying! (think shnobel was of the first yt gearheads i really followed. more power to him!)
Hi! Longtime viewer here. 1. Poor Cap’n displaying his compulsive need to relate every new thing to an existing thing rather than simply enjoying the new item. 2. Get well Pete😢 Haven’t heard such sniffling since Scarface. 3. Shnobels seem studio-quality & sound good.
I don't believe you're a real person but assuming you aren't just a bot to promote the pedal, I'll engage with you. When you review a pedal you need to compare it to what exists. This is how you do a review. I hope that helps. Also, none of these are claiming to be new things. One is clearly a reference to a rat and the other one is clearly a reference to a klon etc
I'm a huge fan of the Daily Driver. I have had one for about as long as they have been out. Now I have the DD Boost, because why not have boost in your OD pedal.
Roman here from Shnobel Tone, the Ratatouille Distortion pedal is not a clone of the Rat pedal, it’s a completely different and unique circuit, the name and the visual of the pedal is a tribute to the Rat pedal but it’s not a clone, hopefully this clears up any confusion, thanks for checking out my pedals
Lovely tones. Could you please just shut up LEE. Peter is the guy. Let it be known...as he is the guy that you can actually have a conversation with. Real is the deal. Pete is that guy.
Not a great time to release pedals with this kind of pricetag IMO. I have to also say, if its not a rat clone, why on earth would you call it Ratatouille and not expect us to make that comparison please? It looks like one, is named after one, but is nothing like it.... 🫤 Sounds great I might add but not at that kind of money.
