Just had a driver fitting at my local PGA Superstore and added 15 yrds and almost every fairway hit since then. Ping G435 Max with the light 35g shaft. Great experience. Like a toy store for dads!
That store is an hour and a half from my home and I go once a month during the season. Fantastic deals available if you know what you are looking for in equipment and accessories. I was rooting for Bobby to make that putt!
I’m surprised that the “home of golf” doesn’t have big box golf stores like we have here in The States! Worldwide Golf is a company that has 5-6 chain stores (Van’s Golf, Edwin Watts to name a few) and Golf Galaxy is another big store. And yes, they have great pre-owned inventories, especially where I live in Arizona. Come out to the Southwest next time James!
These stores are awesome for sure, but we need more shops like "golf clubs for cash". Yes, we have second swing which is only online, but nothing where you can go and try them out. At least where I live in the pacific Northwest (Seattle, WA area)
I have never found a deal at a PGA Superstore. I have one an hour away and routinely go to them in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Florida. Their used clubs are outrageously overpriced and their new clubs seem to be slightly over MSRP offered by the manufacturer.
When I go to the mainland States I seek out the nearest PGA Superstore for a day trip. If you’ve never been to one, put it on your ‘must visit’ list. Honestly, there’s nothing like it here in the UK. Spent over 4 hours in the one near LA last year. Amazing range of equipment, a lot of which, as James mentioned, you never see over here. Super helpful staff too, and yes, you can pretty well much try out everything. I always buy their own brand gloves in bulk - 2 pack for $20. Great fit and last well.
I have PGATSS in Colorado about 15 minutes from my house, and a new Golf Galaxy that is also pretty nice, makes it easy to hit two places close together. Club fitting is better at PGATSS.
I like the PGA Superstore. While I was off for Spring Break I purchased golf shoes from the Raleigh NC store. I also purchased the TaylorMade Inked soft golf balls in the blue ink. Went back 1 month later the blue ink golf balls were sold out and I purchased the red inked ones. The women’s clothing is limited in my size. I also like Golf Galaxy which is owned by Dick’s Sporting Goods. Used ladies golf clubs are limited at both stores.
Apart from the Mizuno wedges, are those deals really all *that*? Also, apparent blurring of 'clearance' and 'used' is weird. But that *is* one big store.
I hope while you're here on Long Island that you'll be giving us a video of you and Chris playing Bethpage Black (or the Red). The PGA store is also literally down the street from Eisenhower Park, with its three courses (including the Red, a former Senior tour venue). One problem with the PGA store is that the left-handed options are extremely limited. That one aisle of left handed clubs you walked past is it. Even more limited selection when it comes to gloves. Oh, and that putting surface is not at all flat!
I got the TaylorMade burner the day or day after it was released after watching your video letting us know it was back. The weather has been terrible and I have been getting over a back injury so before today I'd only hit it a half dozen shots with frankly disappointing results. Until today that is. I ordered the 11.5 degree which I began to hit really well, I then started playing around with settings and lofted it down to 9 degrees and put the heavy weight in the front....its now a Canon. I'm hitting it on the range around 200 yards and it then rolls on quite a bit after that. Not mind blowing numbers but for someone almost 60 with back and hip injuries I'm over the moon. It's out performing my old PXG gen 5 driver with senior shaft. So is it a driver replacement for me or a fairway finder. Its the later, because I also picked up a PXG gen 6 and popped in a fujikura ventus Tr red 5r and now that club is out doing the burner by 20 yards while the burner is outdoing my old gen 5 with its wet noodle of a senior shaft. So hopefully happy days all summer incoming.
I was positive Bobby wanted a lab broom lol. I bought a mezz max with out being able to try one. First round with it might have been my honest best round of putting ever.
I live in Utah and we have a PGA Tour Superstore. It's pretty amazing. Two blocks away from that is a local shop that isn't as big, but has a sweet load of clubs. Side note...how do none of these people know who you are?!?
Ur lucky u have an accent and a cameraman following u around or else they going to thing ur trying to steal walking around with a big ass backpack haha.
