Yeah less that two days so like 45 hours later and you have clear chips it’s simple come on man you can’t wait that long? I mean you want chips now your not going to want them in two days ?
this level of crispiness can be achieved by the following steps (adjust as needed) 1. Cut your potatoes (optionally peeled) into sticks 2. Boil them in water consisting of a tablespoon of salt for seasoning, tablespoon of baking soda to make it crispy, and white vinegar to keep them from breaking, depending on how hot your water is adjust it, but make sure that they are not cooked too much, they should be fully cooked when frying, not when boiling 3. Drain them and dry them 4. fry them at a low temperature like 320 for a few minutes until they begin to look cook through, and cut one open to see if it's cooked through and fluffy, you can also do it at around 280 for 6-8 minutes but i havent done this and i don't know if that's going to overcook them, they should not have any color 5. make a batter for the fries consisting of whatever seasonings you want, but it should be aout the consistency of a pancake batter, and to achieve the batter state just use flour and seltzer water unflavored preferrably 5. freeze the fries and make sure they are frozen solid when you use them next 7. drop them frozen straight into the hot oil, probably around 350-400 but 400 most likely isn't safe when it is frozen, i cannot guarantee this is always safe although it has been for me so please be very careful and try not to fill your oil up over 1/4 of the way when doing this, please don't do it over halfway, and never ever do it over 3/4 8. fry them until golden brown, take them out, and toss them with salt immediately or it won't stick 9. let them dry on a wire rack, if you use paper towels they will steam and all of the crunch you worked so hard for will be gone 10. eat it and you better enjoy it you wasted a good couple hours of your life on it
Honestly, I agree 😂😂😂 maybe watching a potential psycho eating glass shards in public will teach people to mind their business when others are eating! I hate when people comment on the way I eat😭😭
he didn't specify it's all of the homes in this world, some households may have dehydrators for whatever coincidences and it'd be easy for them. he also said "easy to make at home" without mentioning all household in this world, but you get the point. if you don't, thats on you.
Who turns down free chips two days from now? I'm almost positive I'll be stoned that day and suffering from a case of the munchies. Where can I sign up to get chips in two days??
in Indonesia there is a food like this called “keripik kaca” or glass chip, the process is exactly similar but in here we made it from cassava. and for the final touch we add chili flakes or with salt and onion powder for seasoning
I am from Uttarakhand, India and my grandma makes similar looking rice chips and they are damn tasty crispy and the best chips I ever had in my life . 🫶🏻
In India, we make it at home during summer. It is our go to snack during the summer holidays. We make it & store it for months & fry it whenever required ❤
@@darkworld393 I don't think they are not much different, we do sabudhana and potato also. I think method is different, dehydrating and sundried are somewhat similar , if we deep fried those glass chips then they will turn into wafer texture like we used to eat. Imo
My Indian mom has been making such kind of transparent potato starch chips since forever. They are crystal clear when dried and get pure white on frying in oil.
