I bought a set in 1982 when I was working in Germany. Same handle design, different material. Still got 2 of them, the only 2 that haven’t been lost or stolen over the years. Quite reasonably priced here in the UK, especially compared to Snap-on, which I also have. I went over to using 1/4” bits some time ago, my brand of choice being...Wera.
Ive had my Wera set for a little over a year now and I absolutely love them. I tend to grab my multi-bit screwdriver more often on service calls so after a couple months i had to get the Wera multi screwdriver of course. I love it even more. Great bits and its adjustable from a standard length screwdriver to a semi stubby screwdriver. CANT remember the exact name of it, but it’s probably worth checking out.
I have the insulated set and when someone asks about it, i put a screw on the end and let go of the screwdriver. It actually grips so well that itll hold itself up with just the screw.
Wera screw drivers are pretty much the go to for our company now regardless of the trade. Green/Black handles are standard drivers, Yellow/Red are VDE rated, Yellow/Black are knocking drivers. All really well built. From what I remember they're actually one of the founding members of the universal measuring scale for pz etc in Europe so they fit really snug into screws and terminals.
Finally a product I don’t have to run out and buy! Had these for a while now, wera drivers are my favorite. I recently added a full set of their small hex drivers.
Their micro screwdrivers are for sure best in world and not expensive at all. There is a tip test between wera knioex and wiha.Wera had smallest warp of tips from all 3.
I do Hvac and refrigeration for a living. I have a Wera multi-tool set. Been using it for 5 years now it’s my most used hand tool. Love it! Not a spot of rust after that long either.
I have used Wera for years. I use the screwdrivers you reviewed, the electrical screwdrivers, Allen keys, drill driver bits and socket sets.. in my mind they are pretty much the best on the market. Oh yeah and their T bar Allen keys are superb !!
Wera makes awesome tools. A few are a bit hokey, but most are extremely well designed, very strong, ergonomic often extremely innovative and make your life much easier. My favourite is probably the mini Cyclops set. It replaces so many tools and is a perfect light weight option for someone that likes to travel light and occasionally need a ratchet, screwdriver or smaller fasteners
Work as Industrial Controls Electrician. Been using the Wera (red/orange with yellow grip inserts handle) fully insulated screwdrivers for years. The precision tips are tough as nails. The grips work even if your hands are slightly oiled and the handle cleans up in a parts washer without falling apart. Best drivers I've ever used. Worth every penny.
Love Wera screw drivers. Discovered them when someone who works where I do but from an over seas office left a couple in the office. Had to get a set, use them all the time. The grip even the flat (slotted) screwdriver has on the screw is awesome. I've never stripped a screw with one of those.
I have the insulated set and it was life changing. Just ordered the regular set for my box. The first time I used the Phillips I pulled my hand away with the driver loose in my hand and it stuck in the fastener. Mind blown 🤯
I have some laser tips screwdrivers and they are very nice. I actually bought this set of screw drivers as a gift for the realtor who helped us find our house. The Hex Plus allen wrenches and bits are what you really gotta checkout out from them. They just grab and won't let go.
Wera is a German brand and I own some of their tools. Good quality tools for professional use, I especialy use their ratchets and joker ratchet wrenches. Wiha does also have great screwdrivers, also German. My favorite brands are Wiha, Wera, Gedore, Knipex, VBW, Milwaukee, Stanley, Dremel, Metabo, Bosch and Bahco. I am based in the Netherlands and so I have a prefered taste for European tools most of which are German. I do have more brands like Teng Tools and some other brands but mainly the ones I mentioned and all professional tools. Due to toolchannels like these and the fuzz about the Milwaukee cordless tools I bought a tool combo kit of 6 tools and I like them. I like the brand and the variaty of tools they make. I might buy some handtools when needed from Milwaukee, expensive but I think they are good tools. I was never and still am not very much into USA made tools, there are exceptions off course. Most of the hand tools are better from European brands in my opinion. Keep us informed, I like these kind of vids because I am a bit of a tool freak. I do own more then I really need.
I’ve been using a #2 wera Phillips for about a year now and that laser tip is still as grippy today as the first time I used it. I’m a big snap on screwdriver junkie but they don’t compare to these laser tip wera and as you say that’s a great value.
I personally use klein screwdrivers. With an 8” shank the length is nice for reaching into tight spaces and i like the barrel grips. Work well in any condition. Even -30 with gloves on.
@@realgoku8384 the Phillips head is like the ones in this video. It has a twist to it. They never cam out. Been using them for 5 years only had to replace one. The ball grip is the feature though. You get so much grip and it's more natural for your hand to squeeze a ball vs a standard driver handle.
Yea i saw them on Google I looked it up I actually like the blacked out one the best out of all there choices and all them can't go wrong , good stuff thanks
I've got 3 sets. 2 sets of the orange insulated ones and one green set like these. I've been doing mechanical/construction stuff for 50+ years and these are the best I've used. I like them better than Klein, Snap-On, Tekton, just about all the others. I also have a set of the Felo ones with wood handles that are really nice, too.
Wera screwdrivers are my favorites. They never let me down and I love their chisel drivers. Gedore, Wiha, and Felo are some other great German brands. Gedore have a rather uniquely shaped handle, and you'd have to try them to see what I mean.
PB Swiss is king for screwdrivers. Their dedication to quality is unmatched. They developed their own proprietary spring steel for their use. Each product is labelled with a serial number allowing them to trace every step of the manufacturing process. Their tips are incredibly accurate and consistent. One of the few companies that takes the extra step and parallel edges their slotted drivers. The end cap on the PB Swiss precision drivers hold up a lot better than the Wiha ones and have less friction. PB Swiss is pretty traditional and doesn't do any of the features like Wera does for grip. They just make their tips as accurate as possible and it pays off. They dominate fields where precise tips are required like medical and aviation. You do have to pay for their no compromise approach though.
WOOoooooo !!!!! COOL 😎 !!!!! VERY NICE SCREW DRIVERS. I do not have those. I WANT THOSE LOL !!!! I have Channel Lock, Sears Craftsman, some Klein, and Felos. Good job Vince 👏 👍
I'm an electrician and when I put faceplates on I always do the screws that hold the faceplate on straight up and down. It just looks better than each screw going off in a different direction. It takes a whole 2 seconds to line them up vertical and its the little things people notice that also shows you take a little pride in your work.
I expect Lowes to pick these up sometime soon. I'm noticing a German connection lately. They have had Bosch obviously for a while but have added Flex, Knipex, E go, and Wiha recently. Which is great with Home Depot having so many exclusive rights to pro gear and living in a town with only Lowes and Ace
Glad you enjoyed using them, they are really nice and also like to use a few different drivers they have for different electronics or low voltage work, and then you have the Wiha brand that pretty nice as well. Think Wiha and Wera are like a Milwaukee vs DeWalt type of thing 😉 ✌🏻✌🏻
I'm from the UK and Werra are a big name this side of the pond, German company I believe, its the go brand especially among electricians (insulated obv). I also have this set and rate it highly.
As someone who uses #1 Phillips on machine screws all day long, having a good gripping screwdriver is a must as it is so easy to strip out the head and wear out the tip of the driver. I am currently looking at buying new screwdrivers and been looking at Wera, Wiha, and Milwaukee. Just trying to figure out what to get since my preferred brand looks the same but isn't the same(thanks Stanley B&D). Some comparisons would be nice.
Been using Wera screwdrivers for about a year now, and I'm a true believer. I started off with a Kraftform Kompakt 25, which you should look at, and after that I was completely sold! Definitely check out their rapidaptor!
Hello Vince from Athens Greece!!! I like where you are objective and you don't not get position in favour of any company. You always point out and assets and problems who have all the tools and consumables!!! I am sorry for my English is not so well. I hope to you understand what i want to tell you!!! If you ever come in Athens a house its open for you!!!
Almost picked up this set until I watched project farms video comparing different screwdriver brands, so I ended up with a set of Wiha and I’ve been really impressed so far
As an electrician I was offended by the cover screws not being proper up and down. Nice driver set tho, Ive been using wera for years now and I can’t ever see switching away from them. I might be tempted to try wiha but I just love the ergonomic grip 🤘🏼
Never tried wera screwdrivers but I may give them a try. I’ve used Witte which are awesome and I’ve used the same set for 20+ on my job and I’ve only had to replace 1.
Wera are my favorite. They're so easy to get a good grip and fit my hands well. I can really wrench on something with em without my hands slipping like most screwdrivers. Had em at my old job, next time I need a set of screwdrivers, I'm getting Wera
I installed a fancy lighting control cabinet from Germany and it came with one of these screw drivers and I loved it. I’m even considering replacing my Klein ones for these.
LOVE Wera products...ESP the driver handles! They are EXCELLENT, best feeling grip/handle for a driver...Love Kleins, but WERA is another level. I bought a #2 Sq/Robertson tip and now need to replace all my screwdrivers with WERA! LOL
i have spent so much money on Wera... def #1 for me I try to make all my tools either: Wera Wiha Knipex Hazet Stahlwile Kirschen / Two Cherrys ( For wood chisels ) or Bahco Fluke & Rigol for electronics for general tools
I have to give the Wera screwdrivers a 10. Even their "gimmicky" sets are combined to fit a need. And their line of sets is just really thoughtfully put together.
Vince, you're a helluva salesman. You present, objectively review, and discuss consumer concerns. Last, but not least, you're the necessary middleman between us, and the companies themselves, in order to get the changes we ask for - implemented. As it seems to go in life, it's easier to bitch and complain about things than it is to appreciate and compliment... I think more of the latter would do society a lot of good. Please know, this viewer - here - appreciates you and the thankless work you do, for our benefit. Be safe, take care, and God Bless.
They’re excellent tools. Some of the best producers come out Germany when it comes to screw drivers. For electrical work I’ve found their competitor Wiha to be amazing. One of the most comfortable and clean looking screw drivers I’ve owned. They’re a bit higher end on the price margin compared to Wera. I also love Matco I don’t love their prices, but I also don’t ever buy new from them. But they’re durable as all get out. And have one of the best designed handles. SK would be the third brand I use the most. Simple efficient and timeless. (I’m also just a bit partial being a life long SK fan)
We use those exclusively in our business (espresso machine repair) and found them to be the best out there. Also their Joker Wrenches are standard for us too. Thanks for the videos Vince!
My favorite screwdriver and after that snap on. I also have their tools that I throw in a bag in the back of my trucks for any mechanical issues that might pop up.All quality stuff! Hope you’re doing great my brother! Bob
Thanks for the feedback Bob! We're gonna be reviewing something made by snap-on in the near future I think you'll be interested in! Have an awesome week my brother, Thanks!
WERA IS definitely a 10/10 In my book hvac trades guy for 17 years There Wera joker gear wrenches were what originally got me hooked. You must try them out!!!! Greatest gear wrench made by far. The WERA bits are also lazer etched so the p2 is amazing fit all are actually recommend you check gear wrenches, Allen wrenches, and bits. Keep up the awesome videos and keep on rocking in the free world
Hi Vince at least you discover wera screwdrivers , I use them on job site since a decade and i am in love with then . Btw i don't use the wera green Line but the yellow Line of screwdrivers... Why ? 'cause there Hammer resistant💪 Like the Klein. I wish one time You ll made a TTR between the 2 Brand USA vs Europe. From french 🇫🇷 Fan 👍
Some competitors of wera tools are Landmann, Semak, and Ayani idk if its specifically for the screwdrivers but those are some of their top competitors when it comes to hand tools in general
I got the insulated wera set. But you should take a look at the WIHA set. Insulated or non. I’m just curious. Love you guys! My one 11 month old son and i love watching your videos!
The first Journeyman I worked under told me I should buy a set of Wera screwdrivers. I owe the guy a beer for suggesting them to me, some of the best I'll ever use I'm sure.
I have Wera screwdriver and like it . It has the interchangeable bits and is very handy. Hey Vince check out the Wiha screwdrivers they are very nice as well
They bite like crazy until the laser marks wear off. After that they just become really nice normal screwdrivers. Still no complaints though I use them hard everyday at work.
You also might try the plyers from Knipex especialy the Cobra I also love and use Wera Screwdriver with the Metal impact head. But also those from Wieha wich have a special set for oily hands
They should have a built in light. That lights up when close to outlet. Like NO CONTACT TESTERS DO So as you are unscrewing. It could test for you to make sure you shut outket down
Been using the blue/black wera and the red/yellow wera drivers for over a year. Only complaint is the width of the flat heads are girthy compared to typical American made flats.
I've been in I.T. for decades, I've worked on automated production lines, camera systems, all kinds of computers/network gear, alarm systems. Random off the wall things that pop here and there too. I've been on my back with some health issues, but I'm in a really good place. I'm not worried, my Wife has a good job and I stuff away savings in better times. I've money to spend, and I can't really work right now. I thought it was time to think about rebuilding my so-called tool kit I've carried for a long time now. It was really tiny (best part), with a small bit driver, bits, and some other stuff. Plus I counted other things I'd keep in my backpack. In the spirit of motivating myself, I put together a really top notch tool roll. It's heavy, but I feel I could roll up at a client site and do anything I'd be willing to do (I left out an ethernet crimper, I ain't terminating that cra@p anymore). Doing all that I found KC Tool. So, I'm re-building my 3rd different tool kit (My Wife is cool with buying tools, they're an investment). I bought the set of screwdrivers above just because the price was good, and I saw another RU-vidr demonstrate how strong the grip was. I did that like 3 weeks after I got the chisel set for my electrical/plumbing pouch. I'm just so impressed, it's weird; you wouldn't know how cheap I was from this post, but I'm cheap. German tool addiction?
The very cool gang has discovered Wera. I should buy some before the disappear. 😅Best drivers at this price point. Those tips are no joke, the tolerance makes them feel magnetic at times. The EDV’s are nice around the house with the non marring shanks.
Only screw drivers i have that are not Wera are a bahco set for home , a wiha set for plumbing tote and a klein multi bit stubby. For any insulated work Wera multi blade and for non insulated a Were extendable multi bit (the extendable portion is impact rated).
I love my Wera screwdrivers! The handles feel great! The Rapidapter handle can be short, or when you push on the collar, it springs out and extends 3"-4". The quick change bit holder is good. They also make a thinner less bulky magnetic extending bit holder. Depending on what I'm doing, I have a couple of pouches that go in my camera kit, or gripping/rigging kit. I like the 2" bits and have a collection of slot edge, Phillips, hex, Torx, etc. No laser tips, but still good drivers. They're great in the shop too. KC Tool is great! They have Tool Of The Day deals as well as Black Friday deals. I also have the Felo Wooden handle sets. Gorgeous and functional. Friends love the Wera bottle openers I gave as Christmas presents. Love the Hazet opener, it's small and thin. Good for back pocket storage. Oh, yeah, Felo also makes a bit holder handle that flips out so it becomes a T handle. Great for cranking on/off hexes and such. You don't want your Speedrail flying off the car rig, when they make high speed turns. People tend to get angry.
