"setting your power plan to "high performance" will keep your cpu/gpu boost clocks up even when idle" That is not true at all, you can literally try this and check the clock speed in task manager and you will see that there is no difference.. the gpu won't even run in idle, as in idle you have a fix image cached in ram (but again task manager is there and you can see it yourself).. "leaving this on will also make the cpu/gpu run harder than necessary" This is just a fairy tale that someone made up and never bothered to check it.. like the processor would run on high clock speed on it's own without any task in idle..

@@belakiss1381 I disagree as I have tested this personally and found it to be true, at least in my case. I'm not saying your wrong, but I used HWmonitor, cpu id, gpu id, msi afterburner, etc to check my speeds/thermals and oddly enough it sometimes showed conflicting info than what was shown in task manager but regardless it mostly showed that my clock speeds were being kept at my boost speed, at all times. I fixed this after I went in and customized the high performance power plan because the one I had by default had a certain setting pertaining to the cpu speed that kept everything maxed (for lack of a better term and this was so long ago I dont remember the particular setting's name). Higher clock speeds result in higher temps which cause wear at a faster rate than not. It very likely isnt an amount that is even noticable or will cause any significant impact during its life span, but my own OCD makes me obsess about thermals, so I must have everything running as cool as possible, at all times. Like I said though, your experience may be different, but that doesnt mean its not the case for everyone. EDIT: I found the setting. It was in power plan settings>advanced settings>processor power management>minimum processor state. this was set to 99% with the high performance power plan.

My Phenom II x6 1090T still running 4.2ghz does not understand the high performance thing.. It just consumes more power/produces slightly more idle heat. Any system that is functional, should be just fine. In fact, you might find a thermal issue just from doing this. Even my 12900k is at 5ghz Pcore, 4GHz Ecore, and idles at 28c. Single thread on the Pcores will bost to 5.3, but my chip never goes under, 5ghz Pcore/4ghz Ecore. My daughter is running my old 9900k at 4.8ghz all core, just because it's on a $20 air cooler from yester-year. It won't damage anything. The chips are built to handle 100% of TDP. I have literal bins of CPU's and have never killed one somehow. Even old CPU's I find in trash PC's, still work in a functional mobo. It's not like keeping your car at redline, because it's not doing any work till you put a load on it. Especially if you OC, you want that power plan to High Performance. The dips in frequency and fluctuations can make a stable chip unstable.

Would like to mention that having 99% of processor power simply enables the CPU to drop to clocks below its turbo frequency. 99% of maximum processor power disables turbo entirely.

Yea I have a ryzen 7 7800x3d and I play on pretty much all low settings and there are times where it hits 90+% on my cpu

​@@JekksFNyour CPU doesn't process the graphics, so turning visual settings down won't affect its performance. You are probably GPU bounded

4070 ti so not a gpu issue. But as to the CPU comment, the original commenter stated how the game was CPU demanding (which is very true) while you are correct, cpus don't process graphics, they do handle almost every other aspect of the game which heavily impacts performance.@@dyggas

Rx 6600 xt + R5 5600 70-80 fps on all epic settings with no fsr on 1080p. It runs smoothly.

its 1:1 in a visuometer sense. It makes your sens 1:1 based on the zoom distance.

I also was thrown off but when I increased the Zoom multiplier from 35 up to 65 it feels much more consistent between ADS and hipfire. Try turning the Zoom multiplier up until it feels normal with the FCAR and then test that with other weapon zooms

It adjusts sensitivity based on your fov so it feels the same no matter how zoomed in you are. Battlefield has the same thing and it makes aiming feel more consistent for your muscle memory

Yeah I have the 5950x and 3080ti and when buildings and come down and stuff goes crazy I can drop to 90 fps but normally sit at 140 to 150 but often get 180 too but around that range

There is different type of AA and some of them are really blurry unlike the one in The finals. Nevertheless, AA works by bluring Aliasing so it's fair to say that it blurs the image even a little bit. it's just how it works. correct me if i'm wrong

It ties the sensitivity to the fov so aiming feels more consistent. Battlefield had the same thing and it’s better for developing muscle memory. Keep it on

@@Curt_Johnston not exactly no, because the tuning in The Finals for Focal based sensitivity is way too strong. I need to play with 40 sensitivity for aiming with focal on to not run out of mousepad, while only 26 with it off. Only problem is snipers feel unusable, every other weapon feels better with focal off

He uses a controller with AA in PC, watch the live streams.. when he moves the crosshair, the movement is so smooth and straight.

Same here, I think we have to wait till amd updates their drivers and/or the devs fix it. I fresh installed my drivers but the trees are still horrendous.

Im not sure how big aim assist is in the finals so can't say that this is the reason. But as a closed beta player I remember when crossplay got introduced, lobbies were freezing all the time with crossplay on (or off I can't remember lol) im guessing it has something to do with this.

Stretched resolution makes hitboxes look bigger and gives more fps, but also introduces minor input lag, most don’t notice it though

No just use DLSS ultra performance. It lowers your res and scales it up for you get the fps benefits but it’s not stretched

mouse DPI isn't relevant - adjusting your 360/cm is but it's personal preference. I like 32cm/360 personally, and most newer players I'd advise lowering sensitivity more than you think you should.
