I'm going to have a long walk with my dog, then make myself a whole pot of tea and make some avocado on toast and then really sit down to enjoy this video. I never started making art to make money in the first place but realising I actually do wanna make a living out of it I need to get a whoooole lot better in the whole business part as I barely sell anything on my Etsy, maybe four times a year or something (oops, haha). But video's like this always help me so much and I learned so many things already from you and the other fellow artists/illustrators here on RU-vid! Friday mornings are now officially my "put all work aside, sip tea, draw for fun and watch Fran" mornings. I never thought etsy could work for illustration because I saw it as more of a crafty thing, but now I'm starting up my own shop this summer because of you! I loved your character design video from a while ago of the three weirdos in a coffee shop. I'd love to see more videos of sketching people from life, especially as a step in the character design process. Thanks for sharing such adorable and real content ❤️

Making friends with your mailman is always a good idea! I leave gifts for my mail man/woman. In the US you dont have to fill out any forms like that as long as your packages are pre-paid you can just drop them off. Depending on where you live you can also have your outgoing mail picked up from your apartment/house for free! (Which is why is a good idea to make friends with your mailman)

Sé que en tus moving vlogs has hablado un poco de eso (vlogs que de este nuevo viaje espero con ansias), pero sería bacán si pudieras hacer uno más profundo al respecto; si tiene que ser enfocado al quehacer artístico, bacán también! This is literally what I’m going through right now! Was doing small doodles for the card that I add in for my orders as extra padding and it is just too time consuming now but still want to add my personal touch so I really like that idea of adding a postcard. Loved this! I just opened my Etsy shop a few weeks ago and these tips will be very helpful in the future! I think you’re going to love shipping from the US, we even have mail carriers who come to your place to pick up your packages so you don’t even have to leave home! 😁 On another note, can I make a request for the video where you go to the museum and recreate a painting in your style? I think you are doing good by printing the labels but, in my case, I save every special envelope that is sent by artists/other (I still have yours!). Regarding the signature, I feel like your illustrations are your signature, I just look at them and I see Fran all over the place :3 Thank you for sharing and keep the good work and the lovely videos

I envy so much foreign post office services! I live in Brasil and everyone in the whole world knows how ours sucks, cause every time I'm gonna buy something from other countries they always have a special recommendation regarding shipping time and tracking number for Brazilian costumers. 😓

Hey Fran, I'm really intrigued by the fact you print your labels with a label printer ; do you not use the royal mail system, where they give you a label to print and stick on your letters (online click and drop)? Have you never had any issues with the drop&go system? I don't know many artists that live in the UK too, so I'm super curious...:) Always love your Vlogs, they are the perfect companion to packaging days 😊 PS: where on earth did you get your blue colerase? I've been looking for individual ones EVERYWHERE and it's driving me crazy 😂
Hello Fran! This was super helpful!! I dont have a lot going on in my shop but I want to make it a priority. I love the postcard idea because I write thank you notes for each and every purchase I make. As I get busier, its harder to manage that so I love the idea of making a postcard for customers! And the social media sticker is genious

I applied for drop and go but i was the only person in the area that used it. I had a folder dedicated to me at the post office and the staff always looked so scared when I did it that i decided for their sake to stop using it 😂
Where do you order your sticker sheets? I would love to do stickers, but I want a place that will cut out the custom edges not just generic circles or rectangles. Thanks for all this info! My shop is slow right now, but this is good to keep in mind.
