I went to maternity leave from October 2023 until January 2024. I only got my money in March 2024 after a long exhausting fight with the department of labor and Their Minister Nosi Waqu who was not interested in firing the people who deliberately capture incorrect information to sabbotage the claim ao they can steal the money. My friend who went on maternity leave before be still hasn't gotten her money 8 months later. She is now working with someone from the department of who wants a bribe of R1500 to process her clam and they paid her for only 20 days last week after paying the bribe
It's very sad indeed, I was retrenched and I never got my uif money I was sent from pillar to post until I found another job. Now they are taking uif money from my salary again everymonth. I think as South African we should choose if we want to pay uif or not.
The General! Mr. Holomisa was 30 years ahead of his time. He is a born liberator who was ethnically and morally motivated. BUT, He was a threat to the ANC because he had to be given a position but that leadership was scared of Holomisa and the corner Stone was discarded. Why Holomisa was ahead of time? Because he knew that without Unity of South African, Blacks and Whites we would not progress. Was the General wrong about Unity of SA? Our Military Forces was destroyed by deploying people who had no knowledge about leading Military Structures like Holomisa. He was sidelined because of fear of his leadership.

Scary !! and I am about to be retrenched soon. Worked 9 years for an FMCG holdings company - my retrenched colleagues who worked for 10 years are saying they were informed by UIF personnel that they will only be receiving funds calculated for the last 4 years and the rest won't be accounted for. Imagine.
I remember going to the Transkei police stations after 1994 to removed confiscated firearms from their stations stores, to be checked and either destroyed or given to their rightful owners, should the firearms not be linked to criminal cases. The police stations were dilapidated and in terrible state. Some did not even have floors and ceilings but were in use. So much for good governance..
I got retrenched in December. I applied for UIF benefits recently and my application got rejected...... I've been contributing UIF since I started working in 2009, and so have my employers on my behalf.
I lost my job in 2018, I lodge my UIF claim with the labour department. One of the document I submitted had several pages and I was told by the official that it would be too much work for them to go through all the documents and they refused to pay me until this day.

When the civil servants of the then former Transkei asked you questions about their pensions, your answer was rude ,you said any one who want their money must go and take the bricks that will be equivalent to his pension because the pensions were used in building offices in Mthatha that was not a good answer as leader of the state.
