Can you raise the trip up? I don't like how low the flag sits when it's set. If there was snow you wouldn't be able to see them. Also if there was wind and snow they will get buried and wont trip. I do like them pyramid tip ups though. All I fish is walleye and every tip up light I ever bought was junk. They might as well be responsible, they only work for one trip. I usually use a spot light.
I don't think you can adjust the trip height but I'll have to ask them! I've never had an issue seeing the flag when it's up, but whenit'ss down, it can be hard to see. I have the same issue with my beaver dam tip ups if theres a lot of snow at times, but they do sit a little higher. Those lighted tip ups are awesome. I like how they cover your hole to keep the snow, wind, and ice out. If it's really cold, your holes can still freeze some but not as bad as an open hole!
I still have some beaver dams for when I have lots of people fishing with me. Some of my buddies also use other tip ups and we just alternate flags for the most part. Eventually, I plan to run only Firehouse Products tip ups because they're so much easier to set up and put away!
These are cool tip ups, but I don't see how those ate any fast to setup, or take down then any other tip ups. Also the tip ups don't catch more fish it's the fisherman on where, and how they.set up their tip ups. Sorry just my opinion.
I think they're faster to move and set up because I can throw them in a bucket, and they never get tangled. There's no fumbling with where to put the hook or trying to get tangles undone! You're right that the tips up can't catch fish themselves, but having good gear makes it easier. Thanks for watching!
