We do not worship animals, we just give gesture of thankfulness to everyone who has some role in our life. If you are talking of Ganesh, its a symbol used in spirituality. Its a vast subject and you have to study a lot about symbolism in hinduism. Without learning the basics if you start worshipping the unmanifested formless God, you will enter darkness. If you just worship the material of idol, then again you will enter darkness. So the aim is to start from material mode and then transgress into spiritual mode. How the stilt roots were proposed to allow it to right itself after other plants collapse on it. 1 - the palm is growing normally. 2 - a tree collapses onto the palm and flattens the stem. 3 - new stilt roots form along the old stem and the original roots start to die. 4 - the palm continues to grow normally but has now moved away from where it originally germinated

But, I am referring to the fact that a tree showing such drastic tropic (locomotary) movement and apparently displaces itself from one location to another is phenomenal and quite uncommon. You probably heard of Riccia (a bryophyte) that actually grows in such a way and the lagging thalli decays over time.
