Whom ever told you the SAW is ONLY belt fed lied to you mate. I served 9yrs in the U.S. Army, M249s are designed to utilize M16/M4 magazines as a backup way to use them in the event a soldier doesn’t have time to properly load a belt-fed box mag. The belt-feed loading an unloading animations are awesome, but it should also accept all M16/M4 mags and the built-in bipod legs should unfold and be usable whilst prone unsupported or using any flat surface to perch on.

The map I am developing is based on Bosnia during the turn of the century 99' 00' when NATO still had a huge presence in the country. Weapons like the 249 and 240 will be vanilla to the map, obviously they would be extremely rare to find.

So much stuff Chris Torchia worked on in that old Trello from almost a decade ago that still isn't in. M249, PKM, RPG+LAW, M1014, Recurve Bow, Bike, Little Bird, Prop plane, etc. Wish we had those!

Crazy idea, hip fire +cntl button allows u to brace while you have stamia for some accuracy.

Finally someone working on animation, it was on the huge reason that i never play with modded weapons. Cannot see a M60 realoding like an AK....

We absolutely need all of these old weapons added back into the game, including all of the attachments aswell and even more attachments for weapons. Imo the devs really need to expand on the customization side of firearms, it can really help in long-term survival adventures just to give you another goal rather then just run around and kill people.

The P90 and the MP7 would be two good guns to add into the vanilla based game tbh.

They should consider adding the DP-28 russian WWII MG. It has no option for mounting scopes, it fits the game context and mags would be a pain in the a$$ to carry (3x3). Hard recoil and rarity to balance it

They should also add the ability to mount weapons on ledges so you don't accidentally shoot the wall during pvp

I feel like I wouldn't mind the saw if it was extremely rare. It would also be good as a suppressive weapon or for raids or base defense.

I'm more hyped to see these new animations rather than that new gun mod. This is what the game currently needs aside from other important things I could also list up: animations

To be fair, the military teaches people to fire in controlled bursts. Unless a MG is mounted, you don’t fire long bursts due to the recoil.

Some sort of rocket launcher, RPG-7 only found in the hardest of places to loot aswell as its ammo

I was a SAW gunner when I was a younger man. The trick is 3-5 round bursts. You can see how much it creeps, but if you just keep it to small, rapid bursts, it's easier to keep on target. And it looks like they've mimicked that in this mod.

Would love like an RPK and a RPG in a future DayZ release

Marks, I would be happy if you send these to them (you are now on that team too) -They should remove m16 and famas from the game. We didn't like it even though they removed the sight of famas. Rate fire etc. doesn't matter. It takes up unnecessary magazine and loot space on the server. -Things I wish to be added: SIG 551 ,HK33 ,HK G3 > Adding a special scope and mount for HK's may be considered. For Sig ; Variants with rails on the upper receiver for m4 optics available. -The Mini-14 is also a conceivable assault weapon. -Remove the 357 magnum for lever action. It can become a more preferable weapon when you make it 30-30 caliber and strengthen it. Let's have another weapon that can be moved a little further to the middle of the map. -A semi-automatic shotgun developed from the Beretta or Benelli models(hunting models maybe) would be good. Reloading without a magazine would make it an important weapon in the game.

Just port every S.T.A.L.K.E.R weapons to dayz, they fit the theme perfectly

Another idea of weapons I'd love to see is the Thompson 45 SMG with stick mags (20 to 30 rounds) even drum mags and PPSH41 and 43's with few mag choices as those WW2 era weapons would make sense in an Eastern european setting in a place rife with civil wars like Serbia and Croatia in the 1990's.

We absolutely do not need any MG it would be way too overpowered and unfair

A saw without a bipod is just to dumb. At least there should be a frontgrip since the gun is surprisingly controllable standing up.

I think lmgs need replacable barrels, cause in real life they have to change the barrels all the time.

They should add a museum building, ww2 exhibit, kar98k, mp40, mg42 allied forces/german/soviet uniforms, ww2 helmets, thompson, ppsh, etc etc so much potential there

You could definitely load one round at a time into the saw. Just like he did in the animation. Lift the feed tray and place a round in the chamber. Hope friction keeps it in because it’s an open bolt gun but if you pull the trigger it would shoot. Not sure if you might get issues at some point with pierced primers but it should work.

As a M249 gunner in the US army I can tell that you can in fact load single rounds, but not by showing them into the chamber. rather by placing individual rounds on the feed tray. And recoil looks way worse then in real life, due to its hefty weight recoil isn't bad. mine did jam a lot though.

I wish they'd add something that mimics how it feels to actually handle something like this - both ADS wise and also while carrying. Would anyone handle an 8kg gun like that? (this is more a dev rant than a rant towards the modder, the handling of all guns in the game are like they were half a pound, maximum)

An M249 that takes stanags like the real ones would be awesome! :) There is always SNAFU, which are far more realistic and extensive than you will ever really need. Suppressors that require "cleaning" after a few dozen rounds or they are "ruined", why even? The in-game weapons are more or less meh.

If they add the M249 they should make it able to use the bipod

You could stick one round in. It can also take a 30rd stanag style mag as well, or at least it could.

The OKP-7 Russian optic and Holographic sight need to be added as well as 2x magnification optics for the Kobra sights

I like a lot more guns in game, it gives variety, I don’t see why people don’t like it. They still need to add a helicopter vehicle for us.

I think the rpg-7 would be great for base raiding. They could make the ammo a tier 4 spawn. And the rocket launcher itself a helicopter or gas zone spawn.

I would love if they just gave console more optics and alow us to put like a hunting scope on the mosin or just give us more long range scopes for bolt guns and would love more acogs and red dots maybe a eotec

Looked up what comes in update 1.26 and an article popped up stating the update was introducing the m249 and upgraded base building and whatnot, but then the same article has a link in it to a video about the official update making it seem that’s what it’s talking about, then you watch the video and realize non of that is coming in 1.26 😂

Game in my opinion has enough guns. What we would need are bigger variety of scopes and perhaps even foregrips attachable to the rail handguards of the ak/m4. You should also be able to craft an improvised suppressor out of a metal can which makes sway really bad but has improved durability. And the one last thing that I want the most are the return of *SPRAY CANS!*

You can load single rounds into the SAW. Whoever told you you couldn't is wrong. Big wrong.

m249 would be so op, especially with the tripod, it would simply demolish everyone, definitely not for vanilla groza/shorty-shotgun would be really nice 1887 shotgun feels weird and silly, to be honest p90 is also nice, but only with some additional scopes, but still not for vanilla h&k mp7 is definitely not for vanilla, differs too much from the natural dayz weapons (even though I hate these soviet guns)

You can use expansion and make players attach to it with the HMMWV mod on the work shop and player attach you can drive around mowing things down for sure

Imo, we really don’t need more military weapons in Official DayZ servers. Community, sure. But rather we need more civilian style weapons for low to mid tier loot.
