I would LOVE to see podracing on this track! But I think you might need to make your own hover setup using thrusters/distance sensors - the actual hover parts just don't give enough ground clearance for high speeds on this sort of track

VTOL is the official name for it. Helicopters were made after the existence of VTOLs, so it was a whole new thing for them. So I guess they just called it a VTOL because, well, that's what it did, and I guess since it was a new discovery they decided to name it after what it does. And ever since, that name has stuck.
