My dad is a retired military general and he loves playing building games. His best tips for this game is "Logistics son, tactics win battles but logistics win wars". So I reseached Logistics all the way to Iron Supply. I steam rolled 60% Campaing maps without fail in 400% LOL.
It's not an easy game, you'll get there! If you have any questions, don't be shy! I have discord, I stream on twitch and well.. as you know I have this channel :D
I think this is very good for new players. Good job :) In your video about expanding I hope there is a bit on using stake traps. I remember, understading how you use them, was a litteral game changer.
Same! I always used to defend the first wave with walls and rangers draining my gold and wood and stifling my research because of it. Watching her do it with stakes changed everything. Got me up several hundred % in difficulty I could handle.
That was very helpful, thank you! Looking forward to more guides like this, especially early build order and housing to resource ratios. When to build two or even three sawmills for example. Or when to build a quarry before the wood workshop. When to build the first soldiers center in the timeline of the first to second wave.
That's the next video that I want to do, though it will be a guide for normal maps, not any weird ones :D And a lot of it is subjective, but I'll do my best!
ring that like button, smash that subscribe button, hit that bell great guide -- succinct, to the point, and not verbose. That's exactly what I'd look for in a guide like this. Great stuff!
First and last time I do that... unless it proves to be effective :D I don't like guides that tell a life story just to give the information... it's like looking up a recipe online and having to scroll down for 200 paragraphs while the author explains their childhood and why this recipe is different from the others and how they got married and now live on a tropical island or something.
@@Verowak That definitely only happens for search engine keywords. Can't wait to see more in the future, though! I saw this vid got posted today on the TABS subreddit and I think onto the steam community, so hopefully it finds some more people who will find it very helpful.
I've been playing thos game for ywars now and every now and then i get the itch to try and beat the hardest difficulties on the hardest maps. Just can't do it 😂. It's so damn hard. Watching you makes me realize my micro just isn't there yet.
I'm a die hard fan o TAB. Play 900% 2x a week. (Addicted) I always go for farms and balistas. I've never even tried no pause at 900%. Congrats for your talent. I Am too Agressive and that causes a lot of noise! Trying to be less noisy. (It it Women game, not Mens) A game for cats, not Dogs! :)
Thank you for these tips, well done Video! I was wondering as to how you beat the first wave on 1:47 since you had no walls. My guess is you used the traps and kiting to defeat the first wave?
This is definitely helpful for early game optimization, I follow a similar path on the desert. Would you say it's better to utilize ballistas if you can get them up and use spike traps as a stopgap for any of the entrances that don't have ballistas? The noise can easily kill me early game if a building is broken into. My main trouble is mid to late game expansion. I can get to the end and have cleared the giants and mutants, but my defenses only hold partway through, and I think the issue is more with my economy. Do you any thoughts on how efficiently take new territory?
If you use spike traps where there are no ballistas, you'll have to keep units there and make sure you aggro any zombies that come that direction or else they could just walk beside the traps and get to your buildings. Ballistas are best because they cover a large area, so you can be light on ballistas by making their range circle overlap ever so slightly. Desert map is the hardest map, in my opinion, and economy is hard to come by. What you can do, is not put ballistas in the direction that you want to expand and instead keep your army there (around and after when the second wave spawns). If the map has nice choke points, you can use traps for a while though, I was more thinking of an open space since zombies could be coming from any angle, so your traps may not be at the right location all the time. Without knowing anything about your gameplay, best way to take territory is with snipers (keep a ranger to help kite in front so the snipers don't get destroyed by harpies or spitters), then place some ballistas at the choke points/locations you want to defend. For desert map, the best directions to expand first are East and West (no special infected in those directions), and where food is. Prioritizing food on that map is the best thing to do, and if possible, to get the crystal palace.
