I visited on September 29, with my husband, mother in law and our 2 sons. The officer asked why we visiting I said to go to 80th bday party and she said all of you and I said yes. She proceeded to ask what I do in Jamaica and what my husband does we told her and she allowed us entry. 5 years ago we traveled for the same reason and wasn’t questioned to that magnitude. At that time my son was 3yrs old and they asked for proof that he’s our child. Only proof I had that he called us mommy and daddy.

I get confused when you bloggers say Canada is looking for immigrants. And when one comes, the experience is terrible. I have many years visa to visit. But the interest is dead. I have travelled to many countries (17) but I can't stand the treatment given to Africans at the airport. When I travel can only be determine by me or husband. Not the officials at the airport.
Then, you better off staying put in your country. Africans are the reason why they are treated the way they are. Let the so called rulers & cultures be smart enough to fix their countries instead of being arrogant in shit holes.
What you’re saying is true. Candian border and customs can be too overly strict. Even with people coming from more developed countries. But, you also need to look at the other side of the coin. A lot of people coming from African countries. Will violate visa terms and will actively do what they can to not return home. Even when they try to deport people. There's countries that will go out of the way to not receive their citizens back. They are categorised as at risk nationalities for a reason. This paints a bad brush for everyone else doing the right thing. I'll give you an example, Mauritians and Somali's are both Africans. They both need visas to come to Canada. But, a Mauritian passport holder would never receive the same level of scrutiny and prejudice a somali Passport hold would receive at a Canadian High commission to apply to or enter Canadia as a visitor. Due to the socio economic conditions of the country they are coming from being better. And the record of visitors from said country return more frequently and not overstay when they visit.

I understand you very well, but you don't need to come back to Ghana now,except you have lots of money or investments in Ghana to come and manage.I think when you are done with your program,look for a job, start looking way forward to have your PR.If you don't like where you are living, move to a different province, state or city just move, but do not come to Ghana for now.Ghana has little to offer you now. You can provided you are from a country that is exempted from a US visa (waver) or you have a US visa issued to you. Being in Canada does not automatically guarantee entry into the USA
