I wish more people appreciated Henrik's joke. He had 5 microphones in a 25w bass practice amp. No one would ever record a bass like that and it's hilarious.
I like how there's a mic pointed at the DI box, too. I think it's Henrik's fun response to some teasing he got for the other videos where's he's usually in front of a big wall of EBS amps.
I have been "binge watching" every reaction to Dirty Loops music. Love the sound of the Michael Jackson vibe, some Stevie Wonder...and the jazz fusion with pop/rock...AMAZING!!!!
Their writing and arranging is pretty much genius also. Note how the CHOIR behind Jonah at the start adds the thrill of this high pitches behind him. This is clearly next-gen stuff, which of course is how you get no less than Quincy Jones to sign you... This is clearly Snarky Puppy, Jacob Collier rarified air here with Dirty Loops...
They need to be one of the most popular bands anywhere. Not sure this style lends to that. You can listen to their songs and pick out amazing things they all do. So much individuality but so cohesive as a band.
Isn't it a shame. I agree. I think the sheer brilliance of their musicianship and creativity somehow take them out of the range of your average listener. Such a shame, they deserve so much more attention.
You are really onto something there. I´m a Swede myself and I´ve been pondering quite a bit on my compatriots´extreme individualism - paradoxly leading to that, out of lack of a real family or group, really enjoy belonging to one. It´s the same in sports - they build really good teams, since the team becomes their family. They tend to give everything for their team!
Hi! You must listening to Dirty Loops & Cory Wong cover of Thriller. Came out yeasterday. I love to hear your opinion on that. Håkan Svensson in Sweden.
