@@SantosOverlordIt's not meant to be the primary defogger, but zard usually only needs fire stab, solar beam and ground coverage. So defog gives a niche option to it, especially since it is immune to spikes and in that scenario of switching into stealth rocks, it can be amazing.

Mega Charizard Y is the superior Mega Charizard! I don’t care what people say, the only reason why someone would choose Mega Charizard X is because they’re an 8-year old kid who thinks Charizard should be Fire/Dragon. X is literally just made for Fan-service, exploitation, and marketability! While Y is like all the other Megas, it knows what Mega Evolution truly is and it actually looks like a proper evolution for Charizard. I will always pick Y over X because it’s literally THE Mega Charizard and nobody can say otherwise!

Charizard Y creates a field condition, the others kanto megas don't. Charizard X increases the power of a specific move type, just like Mega Blastoise. Imagine the other 2 get X Megas where the 3 exchange ability types, Venusaur X with a Surge and Blastoise X with Filter. Sidenote, none of the 4 change the base HP or Speed of the starter.

Everyone talks about of mega charizard y solos everyone but no one talks about how mega alakazam resisted mega charizards attack way better than the likes of ho oh and necrozma
More special attack, a really good ability in Drought, which allows it to use solar beam as coverage to take out any rock or water types that threaten it. Megazard Y really helped out charizard, not too broken, not too useless.
