Shot clandestinely over a two year period, this film provides a rare look into the second most isolated country on the planet held in a stasis by a brutal military regime for almost a half century. From over 100 interviews of people across Burma, including the recently released Aung San Suu Kyi, interwoven with stunning footage of Burmese life this documentary is truly unique.

Thank you for this one. I really liked it. I have been to Burma in 2005, 2010, 2011 and in 2016. I have travelled a lot in Asia, and visited 14 countries there (most of them more than once). But Burma is my favourite country. I think this is the most magical and friendly country I ever visited. But now they have very big problems there. But the Burmese people are very strong. I really hope for a better future for them. Lots of prayers and good wishes.

My wife is from Myanmar. I watched this documentary a few years before we met. Good watch. It's a shame what's become of it. I hear the news on it firsthand everyday from her family living there

The sanctions sud be lifted up and allow to trade freely. That's the way to improve Myanmar's economy. Despite sanctions, there are reports that the advanced countries are extracting their resources. To allow the plundering, maintaining the current state is inevitable.

The part where they hassled u because u were recording them is fake. They wouldn’t say anything if u were Burmese. I’m Burmese myself. They just felt weird because a foreigner is recording them

Reflection of the Vietnam era, democracy takes time within these certain areas of SE Asia, don't push it as it may seems as an invasion of sovereignty. Work with the military which duties are to protect Myanmar as a whole, then capitalism (democracy) can ease and thrive within time alike Vietnam.

Education is the major problem. To educate poor couples not to make too many babies. They have no food and live very poorly, and they want to bring more human beings into their horrible life to suffer. It doesn't make sense.

Since the Brits left Burma, the country has been going down the drain slowly. Now, in 2024, the country is still inside a very dark tunnel. They say "You will see the light at the end of the tunnel". If that is true, when then? The people of Burma have been waiting to see that light for decades. Que Sera Sera???
