Another banger Nate. It has been awesome watching this channel succeed and you get the praise you deserve. It’s not easy to be the first at something, and do it well. You were the first big time free surfer to commit to carrying that damn go pro in your mouth over and over and over. I’m sure so many times it would have been easier to just leave it in the boat. Wow, not sure I’d call that wave a donut with that much warble to it. More of an eclair at times. Looked super challenging in terms of the smaller size and the warbling and clamping going on. Still, the teams definitely worked it out and scored some really nice ones for the opportunity. Loved the stormy backdrop too. Loved the memories of being in the water as always. Reminds me of a special place on the north shore where i was riding a single fin lopez board from the 70's alone until as the swell was rising i was fucked until i caught a donut but made it just as the wolfpack was paddling out. then i went in

This spot reminds me of a very break in my neck of the woods. Just curious is if you guys know the swell direction on that day? It seemed a bit too direct, at the point where you guys first were trying to take off, that whole section would just shut down and then bowl up hard more towards the shoulder. The swell too seemed a bit too big for this spot too, judging how round out the end sections were. Just like a break I surf which looks identical to the donut, anything bigger than a 3-5 ft day is just too gnarly, and the insides more towards the shoulder is the best spot to take off.

See, the SA guy (who looks burned out) was trying to tell you but you weren't listening. The current does what Desert Pt does - drags you out too deep. Super shallow and sectiony this one and higher tides would be best. These types of Indon reefs eventually lead to injuries. Like many spots the wind swings later in the day too.
