Ok sorry hold on. I looked up the butterfree card he was talking about. Assuming he means taking on an opponents Butterfree card with his Smeargle, butterfrees hyper reverse attack does 10 damage PER energy attached. But doesnt a double colorless energy mean 2 energy? Meaning smeargle takes 20 damage??
Two double colorless energy cards give four energy. So the attack would actually deal 40 damage. If the Smeargle card had a grass resistance then that would actually reduce the damage to 10 because resistance lowers all incoming damage by that type of Pokémon by 30 (Butterfree is grass type in the TCG). But I checked and every Smeargle card has either Psychic resistance or no resistance. So either Paul Rudd and the writers of this movie are dirty liars and fake Pokemon fans, or in universe this character forgot Butterfree's type or Smeargle's resistance.
