The song was commissioned for an anime, but there's really only like barely a reference to one of the characters in it. (A)Shura is how they refer to the Buddhist demigod of war, Asura, in Japanese, and the anime it was commissioned for was Kengan Ashura. They mention "Fang", which is a reference to a title given to the strongest fighter for one of the corporations in the show, who is generally regarded as the strongest fighter overall. There's another line like, "Sai and Kyo The world lies before you," that throws a lot of people, because it sounds like it's character names, but it's actually an in-joke referencing a crowd interaction they had during a show at the Mercury Lounge, in NYC. Miku asked how Saiki thought the tour/show was going, and Saiki said "Saikou" (the best), and Miku kind of absentmindedly said "Sai and kou", and then Saiki started making fun of her for it, acting like it was popular slang in Japan among young people. So, this line is just a small twist on it, where Saikyo(u) means "the strongest". Do not sleep on their studio music videos. Some fans swear by their live performances but some MVs like From Now On, Dice, Blooming, Unleash, etc are as good as anything. And I understand your take on preferring heavier songs. When I discovered Band-Maid I was looking for some extremely heavy stuff. But I think Kanami's composing style is more in the punk rock genre rather than metal.
Yes, Shambles is the Akane show with special guest stars Kanami, MISA, Saiki and Miku. But wait! Was it really the Kanami show, because she wrote the song and played it with such forcefulness and exquisite abandon. Or was it the MISA show because without MISA, the rapturous drive of the song would be a ride on four flat tires. Or was it the Saiki show because she focused the sonic chaos into a song with melodies that could express Miku's lyrics like no other singer could. Without Saiki, Shambles might sound like a familiar instrumental. Or was it the Miku show because, damn, she wrote the lyrics, played the important rhythm parts, and added her unique brand of backup vocals that have become a defining "sixth instrument" of Band-Maid. If it's any consolation, they are headed toward heavier stuff gradually over time. Maybe they'll get there at some point (though they'll always continue to be diverse I'm sure). You're right that they CAN do it... see the video floating around RU-vid of them playing a bit of a Slipknot piece in the studio for proof... it's just that they're sort of... post-metal. They like their sound, as their fans do, and part of that is mixing the heavy with the lighter stuff, even inside individual songs. Why would they abrogate their artistic vision just to fit inside of a genre? In any case, it hardly matters, they're going to do what they're going to do, and us discussing it here won't make a lick of difference. 😃

Yes, the video was a commissioned outre for an manga fight anime. One video I hope you react to is "Manners/Black Hole", which is a two-fer. Manners is a great funk groove song with a heavy bass. "Black Hole" is considered a speed metal song. It's a frenetic, chaotic sounding song at 220 BPM's. This one video does show how versatile the band is.

Black Hole is heavier, I Still Seek Revenge is heavier as well. Not always thrash but with definite metalcore elements. But those deep cuts, not singles.
I agree with the Black Hole and I Still Seek Revenge recs. I'd also add Giovanni. Other than Black Hole, which has a live online concert video paired with Manners, these don't have music videos but the tracks are on RU-vid. Actually, there's a Saiki only camera live video of Giovanni.
