Here's my take on George and Ira Gershwin's 'They Can't Take That Away from Me', recorded live at Mr. Vain. / mrvainbrisbane
'They Can't Take That Away From Me' was written for the 1937 film 'Shall We Dance' and which was introduced by Fred Astaire. Listen out for where the verse references the Irving Berlin song 'The Song Is Ended (but the Melody Lingers On).
It has also been sung by Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, Bing Crosby, Mary Lou Williams, Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Tormé, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Diana Krall, Stacey Kent, and many others. I hope you enjoy it!
