Cool reaction! It's pronounced 'Jamaica'. The British write 'dialect/colloquial' English different than we do. It comes from the punchline of a joke. One guy says his wife is going to the West Indies. The other guy asks 'Jamaica?' First guy says, 'No, she went of her own accord.' In other words, 'Didja make 'er?' So, inside joke, British humor.
Was originally intended as a joke song. I'm in the minority but this is one of my fav by them although I like most of their music quite a bit. I also love Kashmir, and the transition from Heartbreaker to Living Loving Maid can't be beat. Love your reactions.
Same. I’m glad they kept the joke song on for us peasants to hear, but I believe it was never really played live because the band didn’t really like it……😮 I’m not sure how true that is, if it was NEVER played or maybe rarely played or whatever. I’m just glad it didn’t disappear into thin air and that we all got it enough to hear this album version, at least. I can’t imagine being so good musically that I wished for a song this amazing to disappear or never have existed……. Crazy shit!

You absolutely nailed it. Exactly. But once they go there oh, it's just amazing. And really I love this whole album. It was the last one before Bonzo died.😮 and having been raised on the earlier stuff when this very first started to have some hits on the radio and it came out when I was in high school, I liked it but I wasn't sure if I liked it as much as the older stuff which seems really hard and rocked really hard. But then again I was 16, 17 years old But in college Years I really started to fall in love with this song and a couple others, and then over the years, I've come to think it's a masterpiece everything on it and the track sequencing and everything. 🎉 but a three-in-a-row combo😢 from this album in the middle of a side is these three songs in order: Southbound Suarez Fool in the Rain Hot Dog

Been a fan of Zep since I was 14 or 15, really got into them for a few years and consider myself a fan. Then by chance I was introduced to Dread Zeppelin and that changed things so that I had two favorite bands. If you were to listen to the entire Dread Zeppelin catalog including the rarities you wouldn't believe the rock and roll education you would get. They cover some other tunes besides just Zep and they have some original tunes that I love. It's thanks to them I have any clue what "Polk Salad Annie" is.
