A Rocket Complex direct to desk/board... I run my HSE Rangemaster pretty much at the front of my drive section & my HSE Broadside at the end... it creates a feel much more like playing though an amp for me. Then, anytime I kick in drives in between, the core tone stays the same, but the rangemaster pushes the other drive(s) & the drive(s) lush the “amp” which is the Broadside + Joyo American Sound which comes very last in my whole chain
That said, the Hello Sailor Treble Booster is actually very smooth sounding compared to other versions. Most versions don't cut that much high end (which makes them unusable into clean high headroom amps).
I really wouldn’t use treble boosters directly into a high headroom amp, or tbh boosts in general unless I was looking for volume boost. Too much headroom is unforgiving!
Very interesting and still amazing illustrations, I hope you'll do more of "Guitarist guide to..."!! Still have one question: did you care of the impedence problems (using a reamp box or pickup simulator for instance) when you did that white noise spectrum analysis thru the Rangemaster?
