it’s a huge bummer we didn’t get the orange sabers for baylan and shin tbh! id rather get straight orange blades if the orange red is off the table, rather than pure red.
The E-Wing is my most FAVORITE ship in star wars, I could not believe we were getting an official E-Wing set, this is a must have for me. My only complaint is that the E-Wing is missing it's iconic dorsal cannon. I'm assuming Ahsoka redesigning the E-Wing so you can see the Astromech droid at all times even though it should be in the cockpit with the pilot by original lore. But, my plan is simple. The canopy kinda bulges up a bit, so my plan is to place an add-plot on top of the E-Wing and it'll use the Astromech droid port to slot securely into place. This plate will allow the E-wing to feel more sleek as it levels things out with the tip of the canopy, from there I can add the dorsal cannon easily, bringing the E-Wing to it's full glory.
@@commandernomad2817 Oh yeah, I forgot about that thing. I still feel this one to be kinda the first official E-Wing because they're calling it an E-Wing by name, But man, I forgot about that set, I should pick it up sometime.
I never comment on RU-vid but I wanted to say how nice it is to have a positive Lego star wars creator, unlike most *cough*(MandR, LifeBricks). Keep it up :)
Can't stand lifebricks and the only reason I watch mandR is cause no one else does comparison reviews or has the volume of sets he has to review. 9/10 if I search a review it's him with an actual dedicated video and some 12 yr old 5 min video of him spinning the toy around saying iz good
Just just discovered your channel and I’ll say it’s refreshing to see a Lego Star Wars reviewer that just doesn’t nit pick every small detail and being negative towards the set etc, but regardless good video awesome too see the E wing is perfect looking.
I don’t really see the resemblance here for me it looks like they took more inspiration from the xp-50 for shins ship, the e wing however does look like a mashup of a spitfire and Stuka with its sleek superstructure and massive cannons under the wing.
I cant believe that Lego expects us to believe that they "are limited on the helmet printing of the new clone helmets" when they can do this high level of printing on a pilot helmet.
The E-wing build was so much fun. The techniques used for the wings were ingenious. I was surprised at how big the ships were considering you get two in one box.
I agree. Partly... I really like this set, as well as the new Ghost. But Ahsoka's shuttle? Just, no. They really made this one a stinker by making the "underside" of the wing plain grey instead of mimicking the paintstyle of the "topside". Which makes the ship look really lackluster when the wing section is flipped upwards. Of course the set has some absolutely great figures coming with it...
Engineering reasons. You can make cockpits smaller, allowing for more space underneath the cockpit to hold other things, be it structural, detailing, or play features.
Great reviews! And also, I dont know if its weird to comment on, but respect to you sticking to your guns on the T-6 shuttle! Most people would buy that solely for the views & monetization they can get from an early review. But you dont like the price and you are speaking with your wallet about it too! I dont know, maybe Im weird, but its just nice to see!
I just got the new r2d2 with back printing in yodas starfighter and just because you mentions the messed up prints on the head I had to note, I have never seen such a perfectly straight printed r2d2 than the one I got out of that yodas starfighter box. Idk if they fixed the problem or if I just got a super lucky one. But it's really really nice
Thank you for the review. I pre ordered this set and will be my 2nd 2 ship set this year. I got it for the Ewing and the pilot and droid. I am ordering clear stands that will have both in a dogfight mode. You are the first review I have found of this. Glad I ordered this early.
I’ll probably get this set but I really wish it wasn’t a dual ship set. I don’t really care at all about the Naboo looking starfighter. E-wing looks sick though.
Can't say I'm a fan of the proportions on the E-wing sadly. I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, if you enjoy it, You have my full support, it's just a bit too much like a Kei truck in it's proportions for me. I may find myself having a crack at a beefing it out a bit. The landing gear is a huge improvement, you're bang on the money there.
That E-Wing looks amazing. The one good thing to come out of Disney getting Star Wars was their resetting the EU and cherry picking from it to fold into their new continuity. I have a guidebook to Droids and star ships from the old continuity and I think the droid with the E-Wing was mentioned in that book as being special ordered by the New Republic to specifically function as the astro mech for their E-Wings. Shin Hati's starfighter kind of looks like a cobbled together mess. I hope we will be able to appreciate it better once we see it in the show. Update. I actually managed to get the E-Wing all on its own from a seller on eBay. Just the ship, no astromach or pilot, but it was only $50. The ship really is a thing of beauty. I really like the new generation of stud shooter weapons on the ship too. They really look like cool blasters even when they aren't loaded. My complaint about the old stud shooters was they needed to have a stud loaded in the front or they looked weird. But the shaping and the way the trigger rests when it isn't loaded make it look right as just an imaginary weapon that doesn't need to fire anything IRL.
What camera and lens do you use? Your 4k close ups of the minifigs and sets are really nice. Colors are great, and love the depth of field & bokeh too. Just discovered your channel and liking your Lego vids! 👍
I think it’s a fine set, the minifigs are lackluster and so are the builds are to, at least compared to the other Ashoka sets, with a fixed budget I’d say just go for the one with Ashoka in it, it gives us her and other main characters and it’s not like the other sets don’t but these are more major characters for a cheaper price, the ghost looks amazing but the price doesn’t, but I’m just rambling I’m just gonna order the minifigs off bricklink to save money
it's funny watching this cause I have the exact opposite feelings, I'm skipping this set because I don't care about the e wing at all. If the starfighter was released by itself I'd 100% buy it.
i honestly would be fine with Shin Hati’s fighter if the grey was replaced with black. it would look so sleek in red, yellow, and black instead of the grey
It’s interesting that HTR likes the E-Wing more, while I was entranced by the opposing ship. I’ve been considering buying the set and selling the e-wing and pilot, but the price is prohibitive for me
Dude, they made this ship a long time ago. And sure it was in different color and had a character that most thought was stupid. BUT THE SHIP ITSELF WAS CANON. And bigger. And looked honestly better
I can guarantee you that Shin's starfighter would stay on shelves forever if it wasn't with E-wing. It looks like bootleg of a knock-off Naboo Starfighter, and feels like something from early 2000s. Tho I'm not sure if that's designers fault. It is what it is.
i’d absolutely get this if it was just the E wing in a standalone set but i honestly cant afford to pay so much for 1 great ship and one kinda irrelevant one. same with the other 2 pack, if anything i’d love to be able to get the tie interceptor and the e wing in the same set but of course that wouldnt make any sense dont get me wrong though, i still love all 4 of the vehicles and their respective minifigures

Lego and its chronic overpricing problem makes every set a 5/10 for everyone not making 6 digits/year Maybe i exagurated, but if lego can exagurate their prices i can do it with my critique
Few things makes me that happy that seeing the E-wing entering both SW canon and Lego... There is juste ONE single thing that annoys me about the set: the third original mounted canon over the cockpit is MISSING! Just to make the astromech visible, they sacrifice one of the most unique aspect of the original concept and it outrages me! Beyond this detail, though, I have to admit they really make a good job to reproduce the ship in Legos overall!
Especially considering that they did make an E-wing in the past with Jek-14's star fighter having the canon on the top. I can't wait to compare the two.
The ONLY gripe I have with the e wing is the Astromech show up top I love the rest of the design but the astromech placement annoys me it doesn't ruin the set but it is a detractor for me
Lego made an E-Wing before? what the heck are you talking about? LEGO SET 75018 years ago i have it on my shelf....... and its actually accurate to the original E-Wing unlike this set....
Dude, the E-Wing was made back in 2013, as Jek-14’s Starfighter. This version is inferior. Jek-14’s E-Wing is superior. Simple as that. Rockatoa, Brickticks out!
I don't know why they stopped using the 2018 dual moulded pilot helmets. They were such an improvement over the classic ones and I'm sad they only did one set with the rebel pilot helmets
@@omarbaba9892 I agree that they looked big and bulky, but so did the real ones in the movie, the old helmets feel very outdated to me like the old one piece vader helmet where the new one from 2015 is so much better
@@marcinmcula99the old ones look far from outdated, lego constantly proves that they can give them amazing printing all over which make them look fresh and new every single time additionally the moulded visor looks worse than the printed on the face version as it of course lacks the strap and the orange visor itself is less detailed as well
e-wing looks too big; I would have been all over a E-wing and Tie intercepter set... However, having to get these lame ass vehicles with these sets puts me off

I will mod the E Wing to have the top cannon and conceal the Astromech. I’m just happy it’s finally Cannon. Edit: I wish the E-Wing was its own set, I don’t really care for the antagonist ship.
