The question about whether parents should be their children's friend is a good one. Some say this is the issue with Ja Morant. He is from a 2-parent household in the suburbs and went to private school. His father was strict. Some say that when he joined the NBA, his dad became more of a friend as opposed to an authority figure. He seems to be seeking validation and acceptance by projecting an image that he is from the 'hood. May God guide and direct him.

LMAO watching this in 2024 and “popcornin’ “ is NOT what Angel is referencing. According to Urban dictionary: Popcornin’ is The act of crawling around on your hands and knees on the floor, while searching for any (possibly) spilled bits of crystal methamphetamine Terrance spent the last half hour in his bedroom on his hands and knees, popcornin for the shards of crystal meth he accidentally spilled while filling a bowl 😂😂😂 it should be Angel’s definition though😅

As a former teacher, thank you for this episode. My partner is almost 60 years old and it was obvious that he has dyslexia and it has never been diagnosed. I am working with him now, but he has gone through school, some college, the navy, and management school with no one noticing. SMH. This may help someone. Thank you for your candor and vulnerability.

It's so crazy how so many people's issues went unnoticed. My 3 year old son is being sent for an autism assessment and I was shocked when our pediatrician suggested it because he acts just like my husband so I didn't see any of it as red flags. Anyways now my husband is looking into it as well and I think he could have had such an easier life if someone had noticed his issues and gave him the tools he needed to cope better.

I was about 210 when I decided to lose weight. Lost 70 pounds eating vegan and I stayed with it. But I had to find something I like to do to work out and stay consistent because I hate the gym. So I started cycling and got a peloton. Find something you like to do to keep you active that’s what’s important

Best episode Ever. Because. I have dyslexia. My oldest son is Autistic. 2nd son has a Speech impediment and 3rd son age 17 With Anxiety and depression. I have read so many IEPs in my parenting life. I know what my boys need and not settling for less. Praying for you and the boys.

I worked for the public school system for 30 years you MUST advocate for your child and make sure they get ALL the services. If the public school can't accommodate what your child needs, the school must pay for your child to go to a school that does. Most parents don't know that's an option. Love you guys!💗💙💙

You lose weight at the PLATE. I learned this in the past year. Pairing work out is good but it's them portion sizes for me. Lost at least 30 pounds with mostly just changing my eating habits, don't want to call it a diet because it's how I eat now. I found hardcore workouts not gonna do a thing if I didn't tame the eating.

My son is color blind. A lot of people don’t understand how much that plays into your learning. My son has a 504 to help him navigate through school. People don’t realize that 1 out of 12 kids is color blind and often times children are mislabeled as behavioral vs they simply cannot see. Thank you for sharing your families experience. Often times our children are overlooked and mislabeled. Being proactive and being involved helps children navigate life so much better when they feel supported.

Lil Marcus just melts my heart, he is pure joy to watch..... lol, "don't look me in my eyes" put some respek on my name *Birdman voice* 🤣😂🤣 ...lmao, "stop.....I'm popcorning" 😂 OMG Angel I was the same, when they recommended my son have a psychological evaluation at the end of his 3rd grade year, then to be told he has SLD (Specific Learning Disability) my anxiety went thru the roof & I boo hoo cried...once I calmed down & explained the process of just doing homework/studying to them, it all made sense. And yesss, I'm gonna make sure he gets all the IEP assistance he's supposed to have & we'll handle the rest. Love the episode....

THIS EPISODE BLESSED MY HEART! My son has a IEP for Asperger’s. Super duper smart and social but behavior is rough but listening to this episode and my son’s comprehension really has me really questioning. He speaks very very well like Marcus but writing he struggles!

Yes Angel! You were talking to me about getting my child all the accommodations! My child has an IEP for Speech. At times, I worry about how she’s being treated just because she learns differently from her peers. However, I contact her teachers, counselor and school officials about any problems that arise. I always will have my kids back 100 percent.

In Sweden, the school will notice you if your children need a specialist and recommend their own who then have a meeting with the teachers after to.give them a plan on how they can handle your kids disability, my daughter has the same problem too. I really appreciate this episode because I am currently going through this with my children but I’m glad I caught. I’m at the point where I’m having the school get my child tested but also finding her extra resources to help. This episode really gave me hope!

I read a few years ago that working out isn’t for everyone and for some people it can stress your body out and cause you to gain weight. As black folks I really donthink we were meant to be stressing our bodies out like that. I think conscience eating and reducing calorie intake plays a big role. Then if you want to add some weights and stretching in there, great but full on workouts…I’m not a believer 😅
