At this point Bealy might want to consider buying or renting a large telehandler. I worked construction for a large portion of my life. Having one of those machines on site was a necessity. An all terrain forklift, boomtruck, and man lift, in one. Saves a lot of money in boomtruck and crane rental. Saves a lot of time and work in general.
@@mr.shannon6137 I’ve been looking. Only thing I don’t like is if you put a basket on the telehandler, you can’t control it from the basket. I might buy a digger Derrick with an 80’ boom
@@BealyGood but there are Telehandlers that can be controlled from the basket. I dont know for the US market as I live in Germany, but just last week I worked on a Manitou, Model MRT Roto if i remember right, that has a basket with remote control (attached to the basket similar to a lift). Only goes 80% or so in maximum speed for safety reasons, but thats still plenty and just as fast as a lift. And you can get a wireless remote also, use it with a winch on the boom like a crane.
You are a handy dude to have around. Geoff's nephews learned quickly and were very helpful in hooking those beams up efficiently for you. Thanks for sharing, Chris.
Nice job of “flying the steel in” as we used to refer to it anyway, nice and smooth, no hurries, no worries. Sweet, thanks for the update, enjoyed watching.
Who needs a crane when you've got a Chris !. Geoff, when you do your vid, you need the sound track " Smooth Operator " going for Chris..... That was nice operating Chris.
What would Bealy Good do without you? I’ve never seen a house being built with ICF Blocks, steel and so much concrete before. It’s an interesting project. This house is going to be nearly storm proof when it’s finished.
Watch Jesse Muller, a friend of Andrew Camerata, in Saugerties NY. He built a 2 story house with full basement and the entire thing, including roof, is ICF! Fascinating build
Fantastic video, Chris! Coordination between you and the guys on the ground was awesome. In the beginning the on ground guys were par (trying to do their best). With your instruction, from years of experience on your part, they became a part of the team to make things happen. Mutual coordination on any project is a must. Thoroughly enjoyed watching your video!
Jeff is very lucky to have you for a nabor and friend. You know a lot about all types of construction, and the skills you have with the 220 is amazing, Chris.
You do realize that sometimes they use forgetting something as excuse to have someone else do the craning because they don't want to be responsible if something goes wrong
'Do we have everything we need to build a house... wait a minute, let's see, oh yes, let's get started. Days later. Hmm, crap, we forgot the crane.' Anyone can forget such an insignificant hand tool. 😅
I never got to play wit LEGO'S. I had the LINCOLN LOGS and a ERECTOR SET along with the TINKER TOY'S now my three year old grandaughter is playing with those same Lincoln Logs and Tinker Toys. As a young boy I had my own Construction Co. I built roads roads while NCDOT was building our road. That was back in the middle 1950's. I even ate lunch with the prisoner's on the CHAIN GANG. You have made a lifelong friend and customer in Colonel Bealygood. Keep up the fantastic work.
That young kid in black, once you showed him how to do it right, he was on it! Good job, kiddo! Geoff, make sure you tell him he did a great job! Both of them did!
You always find a way to have fun on Geoff`s job. Y`all need to learn to put a tag line on every lifted item. Lego blocks and putting an erector set together makes this a rich man`s toy. Now you can pick up side work as a lift operator when not being Pond Master or land clearing.
I think ,I'm having a little Dejavu !! lololol... Seems like I've seen this somewhere before ?? lololol... Did go pretty smooth using the 220, and fast. Geoff has all the fancy systems going into his house, ya know it !! lolol... Great as always Chris !! Have a Great Evening, And, On too the Next !! Stay out out this HEAT if ya can Chris !! way to freaking HOT out there Man , think it got up to with heat index 110 here today in W. Ky. Dammit Man !! I hate when it's this Hot ...
Legos and Erector Sets. Everything I need to know I learned in Kindergarten. Raise your hand, be nice, stay in the lines and play with Legos and Erector Sets. Are you going to do Lincoln Logs?
Do excavator makers (Volvo in this case) give you a distance/load limit chart like for a real crane? Or is this "not part of the Operators Manual"? just curious (yes I know in this case the load is tiny)
Chris if your gonna start being a crane service you need to buy a 5 ton hydraulic winch drum…we had one for our 200 series Komatsu for building the bosses log house …it was so much faster for logs
Excavator is always superior to a crane…. When it’s within reach and within weight capacity. Only a few “cranes” can do what an excavator can do off road and even travel with the load. Let’s not get into pricing.
Doesn't the building department require them to have safety caps on the rebar sticking out of the walls? I thought they had to have them to keep someone from getting impaled by falling on the rebar.
When the tracks of the excavator are parked parallel inline with, and close to the edge of an open trench or pit then 1/2 the weight of the machine is exerting forces on the relatively weak and unsupportive side wall of the excavation. If parking at right angle to the trench the only a smaller % of the weight is in the same risk area, at a guess approx 20% rather than the 50% when parallel. So there is less chance of the wall of the excavation collapsing and the machine with it. In the UK at least, excavations over a certain height must be reinforced with steel shearing supports.
Hi Chris you did exceptionally well with what you had and also saved geff a lot of money and time on his build, it's fantastic to watch you working and working with what you have it may or may not been easier than it looks I've slung beams with a excavator and it can be stressful but you stay so cool and calm I tack my hat off to you with everything you do. thanks for another fantastic video.😊
