We finally found out what was wrong with our Ford F350 6.7L Powerstoke diesel. Blue Gorilla garage was able to diagnose and repair the issue with our truck. After pearl is home safe and sound we put the camper back on we tackle our second issue. We need more insulation in our camper.

I really like your show, I’m an unhealthy 62 year old man and I have been looking at all kinds of options to just travel non stop until I can no longer do it anymore. I don’t have the budget you all have but in my mind I believe I can drive and enjoy a couple hundred miles a day. You have inspired me and as soon as I find the right van I will be on my way.

Your Hummer was screaming to you please don’t leave me! I kinda miss how the channel used to be with the camper and tent .. Did you go back and tell the dealership what was really wrong with your truck ? I’m curious what their reaction would be . That’s ridiculous what they try to get away with . Good luck and be safe on your travels. ps : they make a sound deadening insulation sticky backed foam for automobiles . I used it to insulate a VW Vanagon , worked great !

I have been using truck mounted campers since 1978. All were on Chevrolets. I did not have problems with any of the trucks. As I replaced campers with new models the quality of the campers got worse. The one I have now is the Cirrus 620 all weather. Yes it is small but I am now camping alone so it is just right for me. When on long extended trips I pull a cargo trailer with more than I should carry in it. But it works for me.

Here is a tip to put your camper on in a jiffy. Put a piece of Duct tape on the front of your camper and one on the floor of the bed near the tailgate once you get it where you want it. Next time, just line the tape on the front of the camper with the tape on your truck bed, BOOM, Done!

Omg that window thing is crazy now I’m debating on convincing my husband we need to do it with ours. The bed area gets so cold and now we know why…😳😳 you’d think for the price it’d be a little better made. I was told the max the Palomino can handle is 38-35 but honestly ours can’t handle 40s well… for black out we have a reflective material that covers all the windows and the fan above the bed. We are nightshift so open windows during the day isn’t an option

If you’ve never looked into it, the Froley sleep system is pretty great. It’s like a bunch of little plastic springs under your mattress. Seems to help a ton with moisture issues. Someone had installed it in the camper I have currently and it is definitely a game changer. I imagine since it adds an air gap, it adds an extra layer of insulation as well. Just spent four months on the road and never had any moisture buildup under the mattress.

Ok, catching up on your videos and I see that I was right about the fuel pump issue, but not in the way that it was catastrophic! Whew! Ford uses the Bosch CP4 high pressure pump. There are all kinds of complaints about Ford ducking warranty claims saying because they blame contaminants, water, DEF in the fuel, and so on so that they don't have to fix the expensive failure. If you guys are not under warranty anymore, take some time to look up and consider installing a CP4 bypass kit on your truck. It is another filter system designed to stop just this kind of problem where you have a complete failure of that pump that sends metal through your whole fuel system. You will only have to replace the pump, drain and flush the fuel tank etc., but it won't get into the engine. Locally, they say it's closer to $18,000 for that repair. Glad you are still good to go, but this pump issue is the only real problem you need to keep up on with your Ford, it is worth looking into.

Wow! Huge difference between diagnoses and price points! I’m so glad getting a second opinion worked in your favor. It is always wise to get a second opinion. It will be very strange to visit the Cody and Kellie channel instead of visiting Dome Life. I love the Dome Life name, but do understand your approach. It makes a ton of sense. Now, … the insulation. I am shocked that the manufacturer put NOTHING up there! I also have the same condensation and cold issues on the curved nose wall of my travel trailer, so you can bet I’ll be investigating how I can open it up and improve insulation on that wall. Its adjacent to my bed and freezing in colder temps, while even the bathroom with a plastic dome skylight is warmer. Hmmm. Thanks for sharing how you took care of that task. Merry Christmas to you and yours!!!

hope everyone learns to always get a 2nd opinion on car or truck repairs, I am a mechanic I get too many people that already paid the other shop too much for a bad repair, better to get the 2nd opinion before doing the work, even if someone wants to get a 2nd estimate on my diagnosis, I am all for it, I may even match it if I want the job, so even if your mechanic is good and honest it can save you money and worry

I will never get work done at a Ford dealership again. At this point I'm ready to start driving Mopar or Chevy. Unfortunately, they're doing the same thing. Glad to hear you got your truck fixed. But, that’s a Ford for ya. Next thing will be your transmission…lol j/k. I’m a Chevy/GMC guy myself with the Duramax and the Awesome Allison Transmission!! Great trucks for sure. Tell your dad I have 2 GMC Duramax with over 900,000 on 1 and 500,000 on the other. The only things I’ve had to replace are the alternators and the injectors, plus batteries. Also, you need to get the FROLI Bed system for under your bed. Right now you can get the queen size for $389. I have a OEV Summit Truck camper and none of that stuff your doing works well. Yes, you’ll get some warmth from it, but you need ventilation under the bed to keep it dry and no mold. I know it’s expensive, but it’s worth every penny I promise!! Happy Trails!!

A-We had a in tank fuel pump go out on a Chevy suburban, My Dad had an injector pump go out on two Dodge trucks, I may as well have completely rebuilt a ford 6.0, I currently work for a major over the road truck manufacturer, every one of them have/will/can have a breakdown at some point. It's just nature of owning something with a lot of electrical & mechanical parts. B-SAFTEY!!!! NEVER EVER stand or sit under a suspended load. I know truck campers have four lift legs. NEVER assume they will always hold. Assume they will fail and work accordingly and cautiously. Use strong sawhorse supports or the like. Did not much like Kellie being in truck bed when backing into camper. C-Dealership BAD!!!!!! Only if last resort D-Seems like I remember seeing some type of large blowup ring one can install between top of cab & bottom of camper to eliminate draft. E-Always enjoy every video no matter what name you have to use. Things change all the time. Safe travels

Good job getting a second opinion. For putting the truck camper back on the truck we tried all kinds of methods and found the best is to have the OCD male (me) guide my wife while she slowly backs the truck under the camper. But then again we drive a RAM so this method may not work for you. 😜

Dealer service departments are criminal.lol All of them. But $2k was still very pricy for a fuel pump, coolant flush and filter housing. Great videos. 👍

So glad you found an honest mechanic. Truthfully, I have a Ford as well and stopped going to the dealer for service because I felt they weren't 100% honest. We live in a small town and have our small town privately owned shop that we go to, and they are the best.

Google CP4 fuel pump issues. All three major truck manufacturers have lawsuits pending because they used a pump known to have issues with the low sulfur diesel fuel in the US. Ford has used these pumps for years. GM and Ram have finally moved away from the CP4 because of so many failures. A lot of times none of them would warranty the repair even if the truck was still under warranty because their stance on it was that the low sulfur fuel was the cause of the pump failing. Hence the lawsuits. It is around a $12,000 repair. Some go out with high miles, some go out with not even 10,000 miles.

Glad you got the truck fixed :). Maybe you should look into some 35 to 20% tint for your windows of your camper to help with your light issues or you can take some cardboard or foam cutouts of the windows with some reflector on the window side, thats what i did for my travel trailer when i lived in 1 :). That insulation will really help. Stay warm and safe, love watching you guys :).

Glad you guys got a second opinion!!! That lack of insulation is an embarrassment for the manufacturer. Great job solving that. Should solve your condensation issue.
