It doesn’t translate fully without practice but for reference I was a 11.5 UTR and now a 5.7 DUPR pickleball player after two years (including a year of very consistent training and playing tournaments). Usually good and experienced recreational tennis players can get to 4.0 pickleball reasonably quickly (within a month) and beyond that with the proper training
Another data point for you. I was a 4.5 USTA recreational tennis player, a 5.75 competitive (D1 level) squash player, and have picked up pickle in the last few months. I can hold my own with 4.5-5.0 players, and the racquet experience is translating pretty quickly to pickle. Imagine I’d get comfortably above 5.0 with regular play and practice.
You would probably be a 3.0-3.5 in pickleball. You need to learn how to dink. Before I started playing pickleball and was playing tennis every single day, I was around a 6-7 UTR. When I started pickleball, I did a tournament pretty much right away and was a 3.7 in doubles. I have improved since then and can play with 4.5-5.0 players now. It should not be too much of an adjustment going from tennis to pickleball though, but it does take a little time
