you are both right. Philippines is actually laid back, relaxed, far from stress tho not rich but there is more peace. It's more fun in the Philippines? It's more peaceful in the Philippines. there are things far more valuable than riches and glamour and prosperity... personally, i abhor development at the expense of nature, river, air etc
I love to swim especially when I was a kid that sometimes I cut classes to swim in the river. It is my happy place. I think it's a necessary skill to learn in my opinion.

Absolutely love this episode for the many levels of content it has: the types of learnings, realizations and manifestations the family has had physically, mentally and emotionally. Great for you, Kevin, taking physical care of yourself for you and the family; Rebecca , for the great lesson you are and continue to cope with (not the least of which having to adapt to the crazy tropical weather amidst the bustle of urban life and balancing that with an even more crazy algorithm-driven chosen life) =D And to the kids: seeing them in their best element; growing up (literally) - and _being_ - in the simple pleasures and calm of the outdoors just steps from the confines of your home. It’s alright..the outside noise is almost unnoticeable. You can continue talking over the noise. No need to be irritated with it..relax and chill..don’t stress yourself too much on little things…remember stress is how you react on things/happening around you..take a deep breath and look at it positively.find the positive things and ignore the negative. I grew up in the province in Western Visayas and learned swimming because we lived near the beach and it's a natural thing. My mom used to say that if a person has zero swimming skills and falls into quite a deep water surely that person sinks easily and drown.

During my time when I was little I always escaped from house down our house got sea water I just jump down until I drowning but thank god once only happen to me then that time I learn how to swim by touching some of the cut trunks down the sea but thank god after that still trying to swim to one place to another until I learn and brave enough to swim in very long distance my time weren’t fortunate to swim in the swimming pool only rich people can afford to swim 😅😅😅
Aw it’s a really important skill to learn even if it’s in the ocean - actually it’s probably better in the ocean because you are stronger due to the currents 😊

This is the first time that I dropped a comment to your content. I have been watching your videos and I am a fan of your family. I am from Philippines and I live now in UK. One thing that Philippines has taught me growing up there and from my experiences is that life is temporary and you should live every moment. I always go back to my childhood memories and the simple things that made me happy. It helps me be reminded that things that can make you happy are not the material things that you can buy, but the memories with family, nature and being in touch with other people.
I suggest you teach the kids how to make one strong push and then glide forward with a straight body. The push can be against the side of the pool or a single strong frog kick or a scissors kick (for sidestroke). But the long glide (moving forward without exerting additional energy) is important to avoid fatigue while in deep water. Thus they also learn to hold their breath for more than 30 seconds (at least 2 minutes is ideal). Then they can take one deep breath of fresh air after expelling as much stale air as they can. After that they'll be on the way to becoming drownproof.
