37:02 - this is not a washing machine, but a honey extractor. My father and I used exactly the same Soviet-made device in the mid-90s when pumping honey in my father's apiary in Russia.

my late grand father also had this from before ww.2; yes this is for honey....that is why there were honey containers in that room; forgot to add IN POLAND

Hi Lesley 👋 The item you describe as "a press to seal envelopes..." is actually an ink blotter. When one wrote with a pen dipped into ink, wet ink would be left behind. You would then "roll" this ink blotter over what you had written, to BLOT UP the excess ink when it was still wet on the paper! This would prevent you from having smeared/smudged words and paper. (Hope this wasn't too confusing!) 🙂

Also what he called a knitting box, was actually a sewing box.

Excited about this one Lesley..wow, a outhouse in the barn/storage room. I can't believe it! 70yrs being abandoned, is a long time. Love that stove in that cute little kitchen, everything is left in that curio, almost like the family went out for the day and just never returned. Love everything about this once beautiful home..stay safe healthy and blessed! Everyone ☀️🌴

It's sad to see old photos, especially of children, left behind and forgotten. Have you ever considered doing research into who once owned these places and perhaps finding and interviewing them just to answer some questions like why they left and putting names to the faces in the photos? That would be interesting to watch.

Very true ! Also Transparent plastic egg carton and yellow plastic bag he found and that plastic vacum cleaner was not from in 1951 ! More like the 70s 80s.. There's no way that it's been abandoned for 70 years, there's too much plastic stuff in it that reminded me of the 80s that plastic egg holder and matchboxes didn't look old to me either in a kitchen the 1940 and 1950 match boxes were in a wooden box with rubbers on the side not just white paper boxes like in the 80-90 s I also noticed a plastic yellow beverage bottle on the floor in a corner of the room

Hi Lesley! I think this place was abandoned less than 70 years ago. I see that some electrical furniture looks modern than 50's - rectangular and sharp-edged. Also, vacuum cleaner looks like from 60's. But six decades, I think, is enough long time too.

There are newer than seventy year old items in that place. The roof on it will outlast most all the rest of the place. The clock on the wall is pretty, and the way it’s heated is very energy efficient. People should go back in time for a lot of things.

Heyy dear Lesley, That is really looking incredibly well preserved. Amazing! - Of course this is especially interesting for me, as you found that location in Switzerland. - That photographic portrait is also remarkably interesting to see and showing a very beautiful lady in a 19th century attire, as I presume. - The room has a total time capsule vibe with beautiful furniture from the period. - The hat and the pair fo shoes give you the impression, as if the person of that place would return at any moment, although they might have been placed there already for decades. - So, my dear friend, I am already very excited to see this video. Stay safe, bro, peace and kindest regards. - Any news of our dear friend Maureno already?

Another awesome video, so fascinating. Also learned from the comments what a honey extractor is. Thank you Lesley for sharing these time capsules with us. Can’t wait to see more.

29:32 that is a chamber pot, (a nighttoilet") on the on the heater. There were no bathrooms in such houses, the toilet was mostly outside on the veranda. The second front window was only used in the winter, to reduce heat loss in the house. Thanks for that video, loved it! Greetings from the 🇨🇭 mountains! And the hiking shoes were work shoes to have a better grip.

Not 70 years.. Transparent plastic egg carton and yellow plastic bag was not from in 1951! More like the 70s 80s.. There's no way that it's been abandoned for 70 years, there's too much plastic stuff in it that reminded me of the 80s that plastic egg holder and matchboxes didn't look old to me either in a kitchen the 1940 and 1950 match boxes were in a wooden box with rubbers on the side nat just white paper boxes like in the 80-90 s I also noticed a plastic yellow beverage bottle on the floor in a corner of the room

Hey, I have a clock with similar molding to that one; it was a wedding present from my late parents. It's over 30 years old. ☺️ Great discovery! I wonder what happened to the people. The bedrooms are left immaculate.

This was beautiful 😍 to see because they were just average people who worked hard for a living and they didn't have much but I bet they were very grateful for what they did have ,this is a favorite of mine and old as me ,I'm 66

Growing up in Canada , we had two separate windows in our house. The house was built in 1940 but airtight windows were added in the sixties. Thank you Leslie for another touching explore!

Absolutely wonderful explore. Thank you. I think it’s been abandoned a long time but I don’t think anywhere near as long as 1951. There was some electrical tape there and a ceiling lamp in one of the rooms that looked like it was from the 1990s. It probably belonged to an old couple who never modernised and preferred the old style but may not have passed on all that long ago. I’m guessing late 1990s.

You'd be surprised at the ages of some electrical tools and such. None of the stuff he showed here looked like it came from the 90's.

The "toilet" in the barn actually had the seat behind it. Guessing it was an out house and they had it in the barn instead of in the yard because it gets so cold there.

They really take me back in time and I always look forward to watching a video on Sunday. Thanks a lot for all this entertainment and pleasure.
