My left stick has crazy stick drift for dual sense edge and can’t get any replacements. Switched back to regular one and I notice a difference for sure
I just bought the Edge 2 weeks ago and let me tell you, I've been fighting my deadzone settings ever since then. I couldn't pinpoint the difference until now. I didn't have my old stock controller to compare but I knew something was off. I just thought it was only due to the positioning of my grip to adjust for the back paddles. Man I'm hopping on rn to try these settings. Thank you so much brotha 🤙
very good analysis!, I’ve got very different settings for every game, as you mentioned every game renders a different response, besides, there’s the way you use the sticks and triggers, every one is different… the calibration via the PS5 is essential and that’s the main reason why I won’t buy a SCUF or another “profesional” controller, with the Dualsense Edge every game I play is calibrated to my play style
Something to add here, is the difference between bdm_010, bdm_020, and bdm 030 dual senses. As someone who owns all 3, and also owns a DS Edge….the analogs feel best on my Starlight Blue bdm_020. I switch from this (with plastic 2 back button ExtremeRate kit) and my DSEdge……and idk if it’s my mind playing tricks on me, but the 020 just feels as if I have more precise aim in the finer/long distance tracking of enemies. This comes from a 20 sens player who does not use rotational aim assist as I play on precision. I often seem to slip off of players easier at range, with my DSEdge. Hopefully all this mumbo jumbo I just said, translates well lol.
Aye man I play Fortnite and I’ve been using default right stick do you recommend steady -5 , or precise -5? Default is good but like you said the start is very fast what should I do??
IMO, to bring aiming consistency in console/controller gaming, there should finally be such thing as raw input, just like on PC with mouse. Which basically should be just linear where only sensitivity is changing. And only later we can do some changes over, like acceleration, "smoothness" and select curves. If devs don't have an access and there's no such thing as raw input by default - Sony should create and provide it as a part of SDK driven by OS. So each game had basically absolutely same core sensitivity. It's really disturbing learning each game's own unique presets. And even worse, when the aiming input specs in a game are poorly optimized so no setting change will help you (I'm talking about Bethesda and Arkane games with awful aiming). Imagine if GTA/RDR or Metro Exodus had same smooth and responsive sensitivity as CoD? We wouldn't ever need any auto-aim cancer anymore. I doubt even aim-assist is needed to play against bots in slower pace with such awesome sensitivity.
Yes, that's what I'm hoping to happen in PS6 at least, just add an option to use RAW and give every option in console settings period. but look, even though we have such an option for HDR, most developers don't use it correctly...
can you make a video on how to get call of duty curves and feel in other games like Apex,Fortnite, R6 Siege …. any game besides CoD just feels twitchy compared to it
playing on pc with the edge i can say that the "input lag" feels different every day. Sometimes it´s super responsive and sometimes it feels really heavy like i have a higher deadzone or something.
Idk if it’s cod or what but my edge has been feeling different lately. Over aiming, under aiming, feeling real swively. I remember when I first got the edge and how different it felt from the dualsense that I almost didn’t want it. I had to tweak it and get used to it. Took a while
@@DanielZH I haven’t gone back to a normal controller yet but I may check it out. Overall I love the edge, I feel like I move a lot faster and it almost looks like I’m using keyboard and mouse playing cod
im happy to hear that is a problem. I USED dynamic and blacks ops in mw3. in my controller for one mmonth im using a quick- 3 in left and precise -3in right .its 4 days now im trying to get better aim. i found precise very sticky and i loose many gunfights because of this sticky aim. i try to change and i use quick -3 and steady -4. i found this better for my aim and more responsive. i dont know but i feel its quicker than precise. i dont know .. and one more.. i feel the edge has more input lag and bit slower than dualsense ,,i dont know. maybe its just on my head. if someone have the same i"issue" with me let me know
I found linear with reduced curve slope scale to be much more consistent for sniping in COD compared to dynamic. Would love to hear your opinion on this
the difference with sniper and ar for example is bigger than u think , the linear with ars is that the aim follow the fire rate , the sniping its one shot.
Thank you for your videos.. you are the only youtuber who talks about the edge controller in detail. I wanted to ask a question. Is it better to shoot with R1 or R2 with the edge for games like call of duty? How much of a difference does 0-1 and 99-100 make when comparing with 0-100? When saying the dualsense feels different than the edge… does it mean the dualsense feels better?
Hi, thanks for asking, I'm actually testing R1 Vs. R2 in both controllers with different zones and testing the delay for the next video, in about a week I will share the results and we can find out which is really faster, I used to think R2 is faster then R1 but the reality is different and I'm testing them now to see which works faster.
Is this also the same when using the Dualsense edge & dualsense on pc? I also been trying to get your “ best dual sense edge curves settings” on pc with DS4 windows but I can’t get the right curves. Are you able to help me?
Haven't tested it on PC, but even on PS5 in most cases they are exactly linear with 0 difference, only in some games they feel a bit different, but I can consider testing it on PC with software for future videos and maybe a full video for PC.
You have awesome info. Definitely subscribed. You should make a video on network for gaming. I have ps5 hooked up to a netduma R3 and there is tons of. Settings
Thanks, that's a good router, I used to make a lot of network-related info to consoles but now I moved them to a new channel and will continue it there: www.youtube.com/@ZHNetverse
Yo Daniel! Thx for your job on different games! You are the best for console support! Can you make complete video for apex legend? Sound? Input lag? Fps ect ect... Biggest update coming next week and I think is great timing for make a video of apex legends 🤗 Thx for all!
Hello Danial! Hope you’re doing well, I’ve been watching your videos for a very long time now and have learned a lot from you. ❤️ For a past couple of months i’ve been struggling with my HDR Calibration for Ps5 on my LG C2 48 inch, I don’t have much knowledge about all this stuff but I’ve seen thousands of videos and tried to calibrate the HDR 100s of times but never really got satisfied with any of those settings, I would be really grateful if you could tell me how I should calibrate the HDR on my Ps5 for my LG C2 48 Inch. I’m currently at 25 clicks till the sun completely vanishes and and the third one I have it completely dark which is 0 clicks with DTM on of course. Please do help me out on this, THANK YOU 😊
I've been thinking a lot about setting the sensitivity of DualSense Edge for about a year. I didn't play another game I've only played reddeadredemption 2 games . This game is a game where you have to shoot a good head shot to beat your opponent. Just two shots will decide the winner.. So, while setting the sensitivity setting to quick setting - 2, it was difficult to hit the head shot for masters with good movement. So I set it back to the default setting The problem with that was that it took too long to aim at the head.. I think my hand has already adapted to Quick - 2 I've been thinking a lot for a while.. So now, I set the sensitivity setting to -5 on Quick to make it as similar to the basics as possible, and then I got much better. Do you think there's a difference between the steady -5 you told me and the quick -5 I just set? Can you explain the advantages and disadvantages of these two?
a question, and I hope you can answer me, to calibrate hdr of ps5, do I have to take into account the maximum brightness of the TV in a window of 2% or 10%?
I didn't understand, but in most scenarios, the peak brightness of a TV in HDR is considered in 10% window sizes, and in 100% they become dimmer (OLED, VA)
@@DanielZH In the meantime, thanks for answering me. what I mean is: to calibrate hdr of PlayStation, I need to know the maximum brightness, or peak brightness of my TV right? so I went looking online and found various measurements, such as 2% of the window, 10% and so on, however I didn't find a single value anywhere to be able to use it in the play configuration, instead I found all these values I don't know which one to take into consideration. so, considering that each click corresponds to a quantity of Nit, I don't know which of these values I should use, which measurement window should I use as the maximum brightness of my TV? 2%, 10%, 50, 100? having so many values I don't know which is the right one to insert in the play (not knowing the right value I don't know the amount of clicks), my TV is a Sony XR a90k.
@tilda5944 hello, unfortunately, it's all a bit of a mess. If your TV has a hgig setting turn this on then use the PS5 system level HDR calibrator, follow the instructions unless you have an OLED in which case when setting the black level bring it all the way down (OLED has perfect blacks). The system level hdr is only for games which implement hgig; you can tell these games as they have no hdr settings in the game. If your game has in-game hdr settings it is not using the system level hgig in which case you are free to dynamic tone mapping if you so desire. If asked for peak nits use the highest value stated for your TV whatever that is as there may be specular highlights in game much smaller than a 2% window; do not go over your TV's stated nits as this will blow out details in bright areas. I use hgig whenever possible as this is calibrated to the game makers' artistic intent, although some people prefer using dynamic tone mapping as it looks brighter and punchier. Hope this helps, good luck, and take care my friend.
Hi, you can choose any in-game settings you like, if you want the DualSense Edge to feel like DualSense, use Steady -5, otherwise if any other curve feels better, use that, I use Default in 99% of the cases.
Hi, right now I use a curve slope scale of 0.80 to 0.90, but I need to test the 0 scale as well for the next video to see if we can get a better curve in other modes. the reason many prefer Dynamic is the other curves are too slow at the start.
Hi, there's a 1% chance I do it in this channel, but a 40% chance I send it to the other channel: ru-vid.com/show-UCekybLZhYsd5nka12papW7A As in this channel I cover General Topics / New & Popular ones, in the other one I'll cover less voted games.
Hey love the vids, so i use dynamic on mw3 but standerd on right stick on the dualsense edge whats best to feel like standerd on mw3 i saw another vid were you said to keep the controller on default? Thanks in advance
Hi, I currently play with Dynamic in COD, I haven't had time to test dynamic with a slope scale of 0 and Edge on Default, once I do that, I'll share another video regarding that and the settings, for now, Dynamic Feels better than the rest for me, but I have to try 0 slope scale.
@@Krisztián-n6o I use Default, this video is just to show a way to make Edge feel like DualSense in terms of Default curve, but I feel better with Default in this game, however, I use Steady -5 for OW2 because that's a very different system.
@@DanielZH i see, i also tried everything, but in ps5 is the only way to get high aim assist is lower ads sens, deadzone 5-8 and Black ops aim assist Something is different than pc for me
@@3sakmertah you just have to use it and sticks will be faster with time. In my opinion edge will never be responsive as classic dual sense cause of removable sticks. You just have to get use to it. I also tried to play wired but I don t see any difference. With time you will get confidence and enjoy the controller👍
Brand new to all these differences after getting a Dual Sense Edge controller. Understanding all the information you give is going to take some time. What would you suggest?
for overall input lag settings I recommend this video fast and easy: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ykl6fKqtKBo.html but the game technique and curve settings are personal.
Thanks for sharing, I'll give it a try, if 0 makes stick drift, it's better to be on 0.5, but if the drift is so small, it's ok and helps for a faster aim assist trigger.
Could you make videos on the victus pro bfg controller on the ps5 specifically with cod. Would be much appreciated as no one really talks about that controller
Sorry daniel, I sent you a video where I'm playing Jedi Survivor to show you in performance mode what color effect it has on Cal's face, but if I put the quality mode on, the redness doesn't exist and everything is perfect. I wanted to know your opinion opinion
@@DanielZH But the default on the Edge is a linear curve. So that would mean the response curve would be a mix of dynamic and linear. Wouldn't you need to do dynamic on both PS5 and the game?
I have a similar issue on pc with the dualsense, my controller was insanely smooth till i updated the dualsenses firmware, the controller feels choppy af and idk what to do, i think they "fixed" drift problems throw hardware and thats why it feels this way, on pc ur not forced to update, u are forced to update on console i think, u should try and compare an older version of firmware, the 0307 was insanely good for me, but to get a controller with an older firmware, u have to look for a used one played on pc that didnt get autoupdated on console
After yesterday update both of my controllers became inconsistent, broken and unplayable with huge input lag, I didn't update my Dualsense Edge to be able to test, IDK if it's related to the new mic AI features they added but right now they ruined it
People are going to say it's in my head but I swear the duel sense edge takes a second to adapt to the game you are playing. I've noticed this with just about every game I've played. Currently playing Allen Wake 2 for example. I hopped on, and the controller just felt off, and Jittery as you described in your RU-vid video. But after switching between various profiles, changing the sensitivity curve, then bringing it all back to default. The default controls then felt more fluid. Is there some way to test this?because I swear this is what it's doing each time I play a different game.
Just to emphasize. The controller will feel slightly delayed, just off enough to notice. Then after some fiddling around the camera panning will feel perfect. Can't be just me, because it just switches to great settings and I feel no delays after that.
i love my D.S.E. and I have taken the time to understand all the changeable options...it takes a little bit time but its worth to take this time and try different settings until I FIND THE PERFEKT SETTINGS FOR DIFFERENT GAMES ...the biggest fail is to change game settings and controller settings at the same time...even my friends i play with recognize immediatly when I start using it...the DSE and the finals is a perfekt match for me...I AM MUCH BETTER USING IT after I find the right settings..
Sorry my dont understand english good. I don't understand exactly what i have to set to make it really linear in warzone like in the OG cods? i have a dualsense edge, would be very grateful for an answer.
Compare it to a ps 4 controller , because they flipped the analog sticks in side the ps5 controller, left and right in the ps 4 are now up and down in ps5 controller, that’s what I put it down to and why the ps4 controller feels more accurate
I went back and started using my regular ps5 controller to play MW3 bc the edge is not right plus with new ps5 update hearing footsteps is harder to hear now smh
I did add back buttons to a normal edge and like it better. I believe playing with a regular controller is just better for ps5. Playing fps games now a days are designed for pro players. Pro players make suggestions on controllers and headset and we just go right out and buy. To even compete we have to spend almost 300 on a scuf how is that fair
@@DanielZH dont know if is gulikit or another manufacture what apparantly will be manufactureing hall effect replacments for duel edge dont know exactly when
There will be a single video for Edge for FPS games that covers Rainbow + Apex + Fortnite + COD, stay tuned but can't be sure when it will be released as it takes so much time to test all.
I bought brand new L3 and R3 sticks for my dualsense edge twice, but it still shows that i have stickdrift. Does anyone know what the reason might be? Or any possible solutions?
The edge controller uses the same sensor that the regular ps5 controller uses, it is normal to have drift because it is a bad sensor. Mine also had drift out of the box. It’s only a question of getting lucky.
Not a solution but a prevention for the future. Always put the Dualsense in its box once you are done playing. I started putting my controller in a case and doing that since the PS4 days after having many controllers with stick drift, and most of them if not all now don't have. It increase a lot the life expectancy of the controller.
Has anyone tested this on R6S? I'm also from the PS3 days, I also need a linear curve, it's just better... Steady -5 supposedly makes the curve linear, is that it?
Haven't tested the default curve in any PC games, but I assume by default edge is a bit faster on PC as well, I played a few games and still had the same feeling, but I have to make a test for that one too in a linear game.
@@DanielZH I play Apex legends and have always had a very different experience with ALC’s than my friends. I also think the speed has to do with the almost zero stick drift I’ve encountered with the controller
In the future probably! Rainbow Six isn't as popular anymore (and the players don't know my channel) so I'm not sure how it will perform to take 3 weeks for it and if it will be worth the time...
