Before I finish the video, I just gotta say that removing the bicep cut was the absolute worst thing they could've done. I hate doing it, but I spend the extra money for elites because modern basics just don't cut it for me anymore.
Yo Brad, I know you didnt ask for this comment, but here it goes. Thank you. Thank you for these videos man. Not trying to go too deep here, maybe it's just weird seasonal depression, but these videos are something I look forward to every day. Its just a few minutes, but its a constant and I truly appreciate it. I only collect Attitude Era wrestlers, but these videos are just a bright spot in my day.
man i was so upset when mattel removed the bicep cut because when jeff hardy came back.. IMAGINE how many custom sleeves we could’ve made happened 🤦🏽♂️
Honestly if they’d bring back the bicep swivel basics would be incredible. That being said I really like what they’ve done with basics recently. Giving them elite legs was such a good idea.
I would love them to add bicep cut back but I'd hate for them to up the price again with these additions. I will say I really like that you can interchange heads and hands because basics sorry, "main events" have good head sculpts from time to time. However thats where creativity ends because you can't swap arms, legs, nothing! I miss that beauty of basics.
LA Knights ankle articulation was for early LA Knight basics after a limited amount they took the articulation away. Also the women had better leg movement than the men's figures. Also The new M.E./Basic figures now have the leg movement the women's figures had. The old basics had straight leg movement.
They'll always be basics to me too. I started recollecting WWE figures a few years ago.of not collecting anything besides comic books(i still collect comics which i'll never stop doing.) I've amassed a pretty good collection of figures, i'm just collecting one of each figure. Speaking of which, i worked at my local TJ Maxx here in new Hampshire and grabbed basic series 137 seth rollins at $5.99(he was $5.39 with my work discount.) My TJX didn't have the basic 137 roman reigns but the walmart down the street did so i'm gonna grab him soon because i like the ponytail headscan and red shoes on that one; i want to put the ponytail on my top pick 2022 reigns(also got him at that same TJ Maxx where i got rollins, before christmas at $7.19, again, with my work discount. So what i'm trying to day is check your TJ Maxx and save money on WWE figures. i haven't seen that basic LA Knight anywhere in my area and i need him now. Night.
I’m not really sure why they changed the name for it… because yeah their names represented what they were- A basic version, the elite version and the ultimate version of that wrestler So where do they go now? Do they keep the rest of the names or are they gonna change the other names to match the ME name? I feel like they need to tweak the figures to make it fit that name- Bring back the bicep swivels but keep the single joints so it gives incentive for people to buy either the basic or the elite figure
I feel like the name Main Event Series should be reserved for figures that are above the Ultimate Edition I still think Mattel needs to challenge the attire customization options that Jazwares Supreme collection has over Ultimate Editions. If only their figures didn’t break though and were properly distributed never saw Kenny omega in my retail once.
Did the packaging ever mention the term basic i swear amazon uses it i got some with the new ball jointed hip @ least top dolla has the easy 2 pull out interchangeable hands going 2 b cautious & use a hairdryer 2 c about the head & if the hips can b pulled off
I’ve literally bought maybe 5 - 7 basics the entire time that Mattel has had the WWE license. And the times I did buy them, it was for a head swap. I collect elite and Ultimate. That’s it. I’ve had a few AEW figures too but I’m pretty well done with those unless they make a supreme Sting or MJF.
Sucks that they have pinless legs. I mean, if they have single jointed knees, that kinda sucks. But looking at the LA Knight, it seemed to pose well regardless. I want to convert that EC seth basic to an elite, and I suppose I gotta deal with the single jointed knees. Not too bad though! I'll definitely be getting basics now
what I hate in the basic figurines are the arms I find that we don't have enough possibilities with this type of arm it should go back to the old model the legs of now with the arms of the time it would be fire maybe we would start buying a little more basic figure again
Basics should still be basics, main events should be like older elites. Single jointed arms, double knees and thighs cut. Interchangeable hands and an accessory. Sell it for $14.99 and Mattel will make hella money
You can change the articulation because to be honest I don't give a crap about the posing I'm still going to buy basic figures because they're cheaper but you cannot change the name that's just wrong
I used to want to collect all of the basic figures, since they remove the bicep cut, this series just went to a falldown that never come back. And all the figure from about series 79 are all messed up and totally nor attraction for me : /
