To be fair with Karaoke machines in Japan, on top of the English Lyrics on the screen you can also see the Japanese pronunciation of Lyrics, i also accidentally pronounced English lyrics with Japanese accents when I'm singing in karaoke places in Japan lol

Living in another country, or heck, even another part of your own country, is bound to result in your picking up an accent. I lived in England for about two months and when I came back I realized I had picked up a slight English accent. It went away very quickly when I was back home, though. I don't think it's something Bae has to worry about. Even if she picks up a Japanese accent, it's not like she won't still be speaking clearly understandable English. She just might not be doing it with a heavy Aussie accent.
Same. After 2 years in uni in different region, my friend back home said that my accent changes significantly. Meanwhile I didn't notice that at all. But going back home after uni, the accent just disappears completely.
Im russian, but all of my friends are from other side of the world, and speak english, and i do notice that i started thinking in english more than in russian, and when i go to the grocery store, i actually need to stop myself for a moment, and THINK what language i am gonna start speaking to the cashier XDD
As ESL living in an English speaking country, but also having native language speaking friends living in the same place as I do, I constantly need to change gears between both languages and oftentimes I will start speaking in English just for someone to point out that there's no need for that or start speaking to the cashier on my native language until their puzzled face makes me extremely embarrassed (Thank goodness for the self check out)
It's way harder when you know how to speak multiple languages. There are times when I'm thinking and speaking in japanese, then when an idea suddenly pops out, I speak German in my mind. When I'm always out, I always have to remind myself to speak in my native language just so not to confuse others, which is a bit hard, especially when my mind wandered a bit then someone suddenly try to talk to me....
I codeswitch all the time depending on the person I'm talking to and there comes a time where words come up in English first and I have to think about the actual word I was going to use
Tbh same. I've been learning Japanese for a while now. I did notice at some point that my "L" and "R" sounds are starting to get mixed up whenever I speak in English. This never happened before I started learning Japanese. Oh well, you get some, you lose some 💀
I have a similar problem, where it is sometimes easier for me to say something in English than my native language. The bad part is I haven't even moved. But 90% of the content I consume is in English and my work is also mostly in English. Combine that with not going out that often and yeah…

Bae is relatable here, living in Japan you cook your English a lot because even when you use it usually are speaking to non-native speakers which requires a certain way of speaking and the few native speakers are probably from a totally different country with a different accent. I came back speaking some absolutely deep fried combination of 10 different regional dialects from around the world I probably sound like a time traveling spy.
Bilingual struggle let's gooooo!!! Honestly, I'm on the same boat, I have whole weeks where I don't say a single word in spanish, my first language, and when my mother calls me to talk, or I see a friend online and get into discord to talk with them, I either can't say the word I want because I've forgotten it, or I mispronounce it like a drunk brit in Benidorm at 5am. It is honestly concerning, moreso when I've noticed I don't think in spanish anymore.
Its funny how Bae's voice tone in japanese is the same as before when she speaked in english, now she speaks in a more deep voice (which I like more tbh)
It's pretty wild when you realize that Bae's cognitive recognition in Japanese seems to happen much faster than it does in English. She literally thinks quicker in Japanese.
It do be like that when you speak one language more than another 😂 i went to buy something last month and wanted to ask an older man who worked there where i could find such and such, but because i spent so much time speaking English and all that my french was not coming out. the man just told me "English is fine too 😊" 😅😭
I had this exact problem when I was in Japan for a month. At first I was with other English speakers because we were there to learn Japanese, but I stayed after the semester for two weeks and only spoke English to my parents who I talked to for like 5 minutes every other night so Japanese began to sound more normal than English to me. It was very jarring and a bit scary.

I have this issue with dutch, I'm dutch but work in a different country and do everything in English, now both my English and Dutch are like I'm not 100% fluent
I'm not fluent in japanese even after living in japan for 3 yrs But I almost forgot how to write in alphabet I mean legit forgot how to write some of the alphabet so yeah kinda understand her a little bit

I guess the likes of Bae, Irys, Fuwamoco, Kiara, Zeta They can be a transitional group between English & Japanese a buffer between the pure English hololive & pure Japanese ones (even Indonesians)
Funnily enough, I understand her quite plenty. 🤣 I'm trying to learn Japanese (Duolingo, Anime, Games, etc.) and there are times where when I try to think of a word, the Japanese comes first before the English. It doesn't help the fact that I am a Filipino who mainly speaks in English in my head and to myself. 🤣 I can still speak Tagalog quite nicely, the problem is I cam only do so when talking to someone else. Everywhere else, my go to is always English. I'm proficient with 2 languages now, and I'm adding another one. I already feel the struggle. 🤣
