The Savage lever action rifle isn't threaded probably because you wouldn't be able to reload the tube with a can attached. That's also the reason why the similar model made by Henry has a long barrel with a regular length tube - to provide enough clearance for reloading.

EOs have ZERO affect on the private sector. it's main scope of coverage revolves around federal entities and the administration of those entities. the time it effects the guy on the street is when government services are involved or the distribution and regulation of funds to the municiple machines.

Probably less than half, most of the cost is just a price hike because they can change that because they jumped through all the hoops to be licensed. Look at the price of a basic no frills can, they are like 500$ for a design that hasn't changed much in the last 50 years.

Waiting till the NFA is gone will save you exactly $200, that's it. Cost of suppressors will not change. Think about it, is a Ruger 10-22 any cheaper today than it was 10 years ago? Nope. I the MSRP of a can will be no different once if the NFA is ended or suppressors are removed from the NFA.

@Tazer120 Can makers charge what they do because the people who want cans now have an inelastic demand. Remove the restriction and demand becomes elastic. In order to get the vast majority of gun owners to but a can they will have to lower the price.

I realize every gun tuber runs around with $1000 cans on everything. But I don't see that at the range. Or other shooting areas. So having a threaded barrel is not deal breaker.

On rimfire guns, not being threaded is 100% a deal breaker. I could not give a crap about any .22 that’s not threaded unless is a revolver. .22 silencers are the most prolific in the hands of the American public. Cater to that. They are only going to become more used. Besides handguns, I don’t know why not every gun doesn’t come threaded. Charge an extra $50 and if people don’t want to use it they don’t have to.

If you try to put a King's Loading (side) Gate on a rimfire it damages the ammo when you wedge it in. Just doesn't work.

@@kimherrick9615 i stated they are unconstitutional. only the Legislature, meaning House and Senate can make, pass and redefine laws. EOs are NOT law and cannot be enforced as law. Chevron Deference was also decided to be unconstitutional by the SCOTUS.

I've never seen a rim fire lever action that loads with a side gate. They all load from the front of the tube.

That’s fine, but the reason they commonly don’t for rimfire is because that type of ammo usually gets damaged with a side loading gate, so they need the tube magazine and inner feed tube to be able to slide out, so a muzzle device or suppressor usually won’t allow that.

I've always preferred the henry tube load over the sidegate. Easier on the thumbs if nothing else. Be really cool if somone would bring back the "load from the stock" method, like the spencer & evans repeaters.

All lever action 22's are front loaders, because a kings gate for 22lr is not possible because our hands are too big, and it would have to go too far into the gun. I promise you would complain about it. Remington made a rear gate, but it swung the entire tube out to gain access, and it was garbage, which is why I don't count it in my initial statement.

Unless you’re just trolling for comments….no commonly available 22lr lever guns use side gates as it plays havoc on the ammo since it’s fairly fragile. Also, since it uses a tube mag with an inner tube and spring, you generally can’t have a suppressor as the inner tube can’t be removed.

Personally, if I'm going to drop $1700ish on a gun, it probably wouldn't be an American AK. Definitely not a CAs. With a history of shipping guns that hotdog down a hallway no-go gauges, pins you can push out by hand, and exploding front trunions, I'm all set.

You can't do a Kingsgate on a 22, the bullets are too fragile and will just get damaged. That's why no one does it regardless of the brand

For as long as I've been doing modeling and CAD/CAM, I'd never had the inkling to do a 3D printable firearm, until a customer informed me of a challenge going around last year to design a printable barrel for a rifle cartridge. Oh, did I go overboard on the challenge. I couldn't stop at just a barrel, and ended up doing a full bullpup, printed the parts, then looked at it and decided to pick up a CNC and build an industrial injection machine. 😁 I'm expecting to finish the first round of body furniture before the end of the year.

I could never understand the appeal of a milled AK receiver. The AK is already a yardstick for longevity, even with no maintenance. So the milled receiver makes it... heavier? And?

I bought a 9MM handgun with a detachable comp, an FN 509 Egde CC. I felt no different in recoil with it on or off. In my own opinion, I think these pistol compensators are a gimmick that will fade in time. As mentioned in the video the debris and blast will be exiting through the ports possibly hitting anyone beside you it the ports are mounted on the side.

In a short recoil system, you use the gasses to run the slide back, right? That's the whole point. Most of felt recoil happens when the slide hits the stop. Now you want to use the same gasses to what - keep the slide from going back? Slow it down? It's already as fast or as slow as required for reliable function. A comp may help keep the muzzle from raising by effectively pressing down on the front of the gun at the beginning of the stroke. But recoil will still happen just the same.

MB-47 doesn't have a safety with a closer ledge, so you have to break your grip to reach up and take it off safe. What an absolute joke for $1700. Even those $150 ak shotguns come with better safeties. Dear god, even PSA AKs come with better safeties.

Why doesn't anyone do a mag fed 22 lever action like the former Ruger 96/22 with threaded barrel? No feeding issues due to bent ammo, no reloading issues due to a suppressor, almost normal 10/22 barrel compatability... win/win/win

you typically only see 22lr lever guns with tube loaders. Hard to load a 22lr through a gate. Also most companies dont thread a lever 22lr because you have to load with a tube and a suppressor at the end will block the tube loader. If you they choose to thread the barrel typically you see less ammo capacity because they shorten the tube magazine.

I imagine the two Savage lever guns didn't come with threaded barrels because you can shoot them faster than one round per second. Either that or they decided to skimp on the extra machine work for threading to gauge if people would buy a Savage 22 lever gun when you can get a Henry for about the same price.

Also like the other guy said, cant pull the tube out with a supressor. Trying to loading gate a .22lr youre gonna bend bullets in half, so you get a tube mag either like a henry or a stock tube. And compliant guns are good profits there are a lot of states with restrictions

Okay I’m subscribed first off thank god lol also I was hoping for some content that dosnt consist of guns that cost a mortgage payment to obtain I love and respect firearms but in the same manner I don’t believe that you should be willing to pay so much that you have to take away from your family or spend your vacation money on a pistol but all I see is 800 3000 2000 1700 for the same thing that you can buy and fix 10 times for less money so just hope we see more reasonable prices in the future
