They Forestellarised it…Live as usual! This POPERA is what you get when crossover artists vow that they refuse to be confined to one genre. And what you get when you have 2 fully trained opera singers, a musical theatre performer who majored in acting and a self-trained tenor soprano who is a rocksinger and was frontman for a rockband parttime for many years while working as a research chemist …no formal music education. Alongside Forestella, he also has a solo rock band PITTA that he launched in 2020 with another PITTA member/friend Lee YoonWoo. Forestella is not a boy-band😂… the quartet was born on a survival type tv singing competition Phantom Singer 2 in 2017 … they won of course. When they changed agencies in 2021 to Beat Interactive, they adopted more of an K-Idol image, with amazing concepts, but their training was as individuals and their genesis is different to the traditional kpop groups. They can do K-pop(KOOL, EXO’S MAMA, BTS’ FAKE LOVE but are more interested in multiple other genres including, rock, pop, jazz, folk, traditional, k-rock, synth-pop, electro-pop, a little pop-metal, (eg stuck in a maze), ballads , rockopera, popera, classic, OST for dramas, games etc

This performance is how I found Forestella. I saw Ko Woorim's (the bass singer) opening part on Instagram & I thought "WHO is this???" Then down the Forestella rabbit hole I fell & I don't regret a second. They so talented and are possibly my favorite group in the world.

They are each their own person and personality. It is a total wonder they found each other on a singing compitition in 2017 for quartets. They went through different variations of singers in the group before finally forming the WINNING quartet with these 4! They are, from their usual "lineup" on stage, the classically trained basso profundo (rarest male opera voice) Ko Woorim 28 y.o. (who is also the youngest AND married to Yuna Kim, the Olympic figure skating queen of south Korea and who is 5 years older than Woorim) Then is Kang Hyungho (35 y.o. who was a biochemical engineer through the week and had his own rock band on weekends and was giving singing ONE LAST GO when he entered the Phantom Singer Season 2 contest (auditioned with Phantom of the Opera doing BOTH male and female parts!) He has NO formal training, just a natural countertenor/soprano range that is astounding! Then we have the leader of the group, a classically trained legerro tenor, Cho Mingyu (33 y.o.) Finally on the far right of the screen in the usual lineup is musical theater actor, Bae Doohoon, a natural baritone/tenor and the oldest member (37). I am now subbed and have notifications ON so I am praying that you continue with thos journey! You have barely scratched the surface of their capabilities/talent!🥰 Thanks so much from Las Vegas!
