Ok explanation so y'all don't go assuming they died or something
So I live in a very international city. People come and go all the time. That means when you make friends, they'll stay for a bit... then they'll move away. Its something that's plagued me for years, seeing my closest friends leave my life forever with no explanation. Of course, I keep in touch with them through messages and stuff, but it's not as easy said than done. You lose contact very quickly. At one point in my life, I decided to stop making friends - period. I couldn't handle the pain of seeing them come and go, arrive then leave. Its much better now, I have a stable friend group which will hopefully not break up anytime soon. I kinda see it as a "childhood trauma" if you get what I mean.
