I have been watching a lot of your stuff lately and I just have to say I really appreciate you're not afraid to share your opinion with us on things. I just got me one and really am impressed. Feels hefty and substantial without being overbuilt or heavy. Nice action on it and aesthetically looks great. I’m very happy w it.

Looks like they are now making the Orion II in ELMAX steel rather than M390. HRC is the same at 61/62. 👍🏻

I love this knife so much! It is a simple, but awesome knife. It is so buttery smooth, razor sharp and solid as a rock. I’m a big guy, with big hands and this heavy duty folder is very comfortable to hold. I, like many of your followers have a pretty big knife collection. Some I just collect to enjoy and show off, but this bad boy is my favorite daily carry. The only thing that would make it better is an alternative opening method… not that I’m complaining; the flipper tab deploys the blade hard and fast, every single time. With proper handling and maintenance, I expect it will be around longer than I am, and I’m A-okay with that.

Kunwu has been killing it! I’ve got an Orion II, Tao, and X-Tao carbon fiber. All three knives are absolutely fantastic. The Orion II looks inspired by the ZT0562, they’re both similarly shaped, meaning they both look great, but my Orion is smoother with a better controlled drop shut action. The Tao is my best front + rear flipper. And meanwhile, my X-Tao is my best axis-style locking knife by far, and I’ve got a Ritter Hogue, Hogue Deka, Benchmade Super Freek, and Benchmade Bugout special aluminum edition. The X-Tao just seems a step up from all of them. Got in on the Kunwu Zen Kickstarter, can’t wait.

Got one last week, first Kunwu knife. Very impressed. Possibly the sharpest out of the box. Love the textured scales. Easily a $250 knife. Great value.

Yeah Kunwu knocking it out the park. Amazing quality, an appropriate heat treatment for the steel chosen, and at a great price on top of that. If this was WE Knife it would be $250+ it would have a 20CV blade at 59-61hrc (58-59hrc if the blade is coated), I love We knife but they need to up their game and not their price.

As I understand it, Kunwu does everything in house in Hong Kong. I believe all the milling, tempering, grinding, sharpening, and assembly is done by them.

That's where all the then-"new-to-the-market" chinese knife companies where a couple of years ago. Remember the Reate Horizon? It was about $200 back in the days as well. Same with the titanium models of real steel (though I've still got the feeling, they're trying to keep their prices down) and kizer. I guess Kunwu will be asking way more some years down the line. The knife (their other ones as well) looks pretty awesome - what I don't like: they only sell directly (no prob so far - a new knife isn't something I need immediately, if I'm honest. Want yes, Need no.) and everything's sold out except one model.

Maybe you’re like me. I’m sick of all this Chinese stuff. I want to see more US makers competing. I get the whole cost thing but we can do better in the titanium frame/liner lock market.
