Thank you once again. I lived in Mexico in the Guadalajara/Chapala area after my husband passed. I could not wait to get back to the United States. It was not a fun experience. Traveling through the 12-mile border zone raised the hair on the back of my neck. Even as a former law enforcement officer, I found it quite uncomfortable. While in Mexico, I saw the absolute disparity between the haves and the have-nots. I witnessed those who prey on their own. Some Americans and Canadians have convinced themselves that living in Mexico is better than their own countries. In the case of many Canadians I met, they told me that for political reasons, they were unable to return to Canada. But, for the Americans, well, let's just say, I think they like the profitability of their RU-vid videos about Mexico. I understand the dilemma. I saw the conditions there. The "haves" do great. But the others are left with little choice. For us, this situation is like picking the cleanest dirty shirt from our dirty laundry. We need to learn to wear it well. It is not a matter of how the world should be, but dealing with how the world is. I believe in borders. I believe in following the law. I believe in Christ. My family fled Cuba when Castro took over. They did what needed to be done, learned English, studied for their naturalization status, and finally became U. S. citizens. It took five years to do so. My son married a woman from one of the Slavic nations. It took her 7 years to become a U.S. citizen. So, I firmly believe all should follow the laws of the land. However, the Biden administration has now made it nearly impossible for the laws to be enforced. So now, we have to make the best of a bad situation. We need to educate these people, just as you did when you allowed them to ask you questions about the crocodiles and the apprehensions of the American people to their arrival. God knows what is happening. Satan is working overtime. But, I hope and pray for all the souls who are suffering, on both sides of the Rio.

I’m a Venezuelan American, everything you said is spot on. I support a strong border and a sensible immigration policy (there’s a lot to unpack here). Latin America is poisoned with socialism. Let’s help them in a smart way by limiting the number, vetting them deeply and tracking them while they’re here. They need a lot of rules and structure since they lack that concept.

I too have become very angry about this disturbing border crisis, but ultimately the Lord may want to use this in order for us to share the gospel with these souls. My husband and I have agreed to sponsor his 2 nephews to who are planning to emigrate from Cuba to the U.S. it has now been a little over a year since we began the application process and still have no news. These nephews had studied medicine and also have a banking background. In addition, they have been learning English so they can hopefully find work quickly in some field. Thank you for your work and May the Lord grant us wisdom in these very challenging times.
Larry I agree with your point. But allow me to offer another that I learned from experience. I was taking part in a patriot border patrol during Obama's 2nd term. As we patroled different areas we would see blue barrels with long poles attached and a white flag at the top of the poles. The barrels would contain several 1 gal jugs of water. The reason is that many coming across the border would run out of water and die along the way. The barrels of water were to help them if they made it that far into Texas. Someone thought this was "the chritian response" But wasn't that just enabling and encouraging the lawlessness? Appreciate all you do sir. God Bless
A good comment. That's a tough one, and it is a real issue worthy of thoughtful discussion. My knee-jerk having helped many of these illegals in Central and South America: I think the human crisis has been caused by the Biden administration. They have essentially invited them, opened the borders, and facilitated this mess. We must hate and address that. But in doing so, I don't think our Christian obligations to those in dire need of basics is lessened. Ideally, our border and immigration law would be enforced and these people turned back. But that's not happening, so we have to do a bit of lateral thinking. The fact is, the Biden administration is using these people. They don't care two cents for the lot of them. We must behave differently. Border enforcement and compassion can be true at the same time.
Great reality check! As a Christian household, we have come to the same conclusions. Embrace them with the Christian spirit and teach them conservative values. At the same time, protect yourself and your family against the criminals. What else can we realistically do?

I think the main issue for a lot of people is that the American people are struggling financially and having their rights stripped away, while illegals are given more help and rights than citizens. So of course people will be upset about that. and yes we know the politicians are doing it. Yes, change is coming but how do American legal citizens survive? That is what I think people are looking to have answered - citizens want to protect their family and live their way of life. This is why people fight back. Yes, media pushes the crime but honestly the crime by illegals and US citizens is more wide spread than reported....so no citizens do not want to give up their homes or safety. So how do you welcome people safely and have illegals live our way of life while still protecting yourself. One thing that we know from history is open borders will lead to a fallen society...

Ideally they should come in legally but our government is giving them false hope & at the same time hurting their own citizens. He says most of these are good people but they still need to be vetted. What about the pimps, the human trafficking, the drug trafficking, all the children who have been lost? What happened to them? Do we not care about them? It will be hard to deport the millions already here but it's a cop out to not at least try. We need to pray first of all for wisdom. How is he suggesting that we engage with these illegals- throw out more welcome mats, give them flowers...?
As everytime a side of population pushes thier ideology on others, leaving them with no choice, taking away thier way of life, choking them and and taking of thier freedom, will come to point, just as a animal thats backed in a corner, they will fight back, will it be sooner then later, will it be violent or nonviolent, will it be quick or long and drawn-out? By the way, my step-father who married my mom and adopted me and my sister in 1957, was in the Army Air Corps as and 18 y/o man and fewl B-24 bombers and was shot down over a nest of Germans either in Yugoslavia or Chezkoslavia? not sure. He was a POW for over 2yrs and endured much hardship in that camp until liberated by the Americans after the Germans attempted to march them away in pajamas and barefoot in the snow. His name was Ruben Puente from Kansas City, MO, first generation born in this country his mother a migrant from Mexico in the 1920's as she and her mother ran away from the corruption and terror of Poncho Villa coming across our borders themselves and following what was needed to become US citizens in time.. He loved Winston Churchill and had all of his writings. He knew who Winston Churchill was and greatly admired him. I remember the books on the shelf as a teenage girl here in Charleston, SC. besides not having a more secured border(enforcing the immigration laws), the incentives that our government is doing is the biggest problem. we have socialized the american people to fund illegal immigrants. a huge thing that needs to be done under a new administration is stop the incentives... no free anything! some or maybe many, would stop risking their lives and breaking laws, if they knew that, that 'free money and other incentives,' is not what awaits them in America. also, it is a risking endeavorer to predict or assume who the good guys are vs the bad guys. yes, there are good people, with no criminal intent or record but a bad person can also say or pretend to be harmless but it could be just a deception, and I'm sure many do this. many will come here to commit crimes or do whatever is necessary to capitalize on their wants.

Millions of them are here already, but I disagree that nothing can be done to staunch the flow. Trump did effectively secure the border during his time in office. And in the meantime, shedding light on what the Democrats are doing (what you call 'complaining') is useful. The mainstream media isn't going to do it. And the facts are on our side.

As I have watched many distressed and even angry commentaries about the border, I have continued to pray, "Lord, help me understand and to see what you want us to do." I observed and questioned, if it was so important, why was it left until last as a second term project by the Trump administration? I didn't realize how much opposition there may have been nor the strong agenda to use those coming and to push we who saw it as a problem. I hear some say they're ready to fight, while others warn to remain peaceful. What a mess! Though I do think those who have come need to bear the weight of the choice they made to leave their home and come here illegally, stepping up when they can to show they deserve to stay, our attitude toward them doesn't need to add extra burden. We who know God cannot deny that God's hand is in this at least in allowance. If we're crying out for His mercy, He has given us a grand opportunity to live that very value in our own lives. Yes, we're afraid of losing our country, but how better to help save it than living out the actions of true-belief, compassion, generosity, and hard work that we want this country peopled with? Let's keep asking. Father God, we're seeing scary things happen because of the failure to deal with criminality both of our own citizens and those being brought in to stir up trouble. Please bring true justice in all of that and to those using chaos to destroy decent countries everywhere. Please protect us and especially the children. And please show us the best ways to help everyone affected by too much too quickly. Help us discern by your Spirit what is Your way in all of this. I could see a lot of people losing their homes in the future if they aren’t paid off because of lack of jobs, prices going up etc and everything changing. The same American way is life will be no longer. Good reason to focus on what’s most important.

My husband and I are retired Christians. We had a plumbing contracting business for over 35 yrs.and always had to deal with illegal aliens, its an ongoing problem. I met dozens. We are Christians. What is my personal response? Praying there are more truly Christian IAs than criminal IAs. Hopefully the Christian ones will help identify the criminals and help us help them.
Correct. That was my meaning. If you are in the US illegally, I don't rank you as a "criminal" even though you've broken the law. By criminal I mean violent offenders, thieves, rapists, etc.

It was exhausting and defeating. It took this situation and a thousand others for The Father to whittle me away and bring to Him through excepting the Sacrifice of His Son Jesus. It's been a whirlwind and a reminder that I am not the center of the universe. All things happen because God wills it so and though we might not understand His plan...it is His plan. I keep thinking of the movie Dr Zhivago about this wealthy doctor during the Russian Revolution. How he had to go away and serve during the war and when he returned to his home, if was packed full of strange people and their children and animals who had moved in and taken up residence in his beautiful home. He couldn't find his wife in their for all of the crowd! Will we have to give up our homes and spares rooms too? Maybe.
We must stick to our border laws. It takes time to come in legally. The ones that really want what America has to offer change their lives, not change ours.
