As a white male born and bred in the UK, the British government has made it crystal clear what they think of me and where my place in society is. I am at the bottom of the pile, the back of the queue, and for that privilege, I have to pay more and more to just about anyone from anywhere. I can't convey to you just how much contempt I hold for the political class. As I have got older and wiser, I now realize that my biggest enemy is my own government.

If you can afford to pay to travel half way across the world 🌎 you are not a desperate asylum seeker, you are a economic migrant 🙈

I drove past a group of our migrants on the way to the shops today. They were relaxing and having a few cans of beer and being a bit loud and having a laugh. How lovely it must be just to chill and relax while everyone else is working and paying into their pot..

If these people are fleeing war torn countries, where are all the women and children ? All i see day after day are boats filled with men in there 20s coming in. They are of fighting age, why are they not defending their country instead of running ?

Why do they not look war torn? No injuries to show whatsoever, where are their war torn parents? And families? I'm guessing unsettled they will have them sent over as it's been alleged these men will be housed into communities. So they leave their families in a war torn Country, young men that are required to fight for their Country. Something very sinister is going on!

How long can this go on. It has to stop at some point. Our little island home is being overwhelmed with the problems of someone else's making and we literally can't afford to let it carry on.

This was done on purpose in Europe - countries refused to distinguish the difference between a refugee and an economic migrant. Here in Germany, we have many immigrants that simply arrived for better opportunities but are being handled as refugees. I work with the Immigration Office and am baffled that we have “refugees” from the Ukraine who have not seen war nor experienced it. They receive full social benefits to include free services such as beauty shop visits, transportation costs and housing priority. They are allowed a paid vacation which most travel back to the Ukraine to look after their property and pay the rent there also paid for by our government - that is not a refugee in my opinion but an economic migrant

If only Britain was another 100 miles further away from France.

As an American, I needed more paperwork to renew my passport than they need to get in the USA! We feel for y'all in the UK going through similar.

It absolutely boggels my mind that they are still allowed to come every day day by day... Totally ridiculous. This is not what my late father, grandfather, uncles and cousins fought in the wars for!! Anyone who enters illegally is breaking the law. Those who are genuine asylum seekers should have to apply before they get here. Should be easy enough to do if they're in France or Belgium should be easy enough to do.

I was heavily involved with the refugee boat rescues on Lesvos in Greece for a long time as an independent volunteer (which I know will draw some flak). Now let me make this clear. I had a lot of time and compassion for genuine refugees fleeing war and persecution in their home countries. I had no time whatsoever for the illegal migrants entering Europe. Back in 2016 the percentage of genuine refugees (mostly families with children) entering Europe, predominantly from Turkey, was about 60%. The other 40% were illegal migrants. The genuine refugees on the whole were as good as gold, well behaved, expressed gratitude and did their best to work with the volunteer agencies on the ground. The illegal migrants on the other hand were the complete opposite. They were very difficult to work with in fact they were difficult at every opportunity, constantly starting fights and caused great agitation stirring things up and thought nothing for the new host country local population who obviously were also victims in this. They only thought about themselves and what they could get away with. What I'm seeing coming into the UK now is at least 98% illegal migrants. I very highly doubt there is a genuine refugee among all of these boat arrivals entering the UK across the English Channel. Do I think they should be stopped? Most certainly. I am absolutely dead against them coming to the UK and feel very strongly about this. Are there ways to stop them getting here? Absolutely there are but is the government listening to such proposals? No! How is it possible for a government on the one hand to be so callous towards it's own people yet at the same time dish out all of this help at huge financial cost to ourselves (the taxpayers) is very difficult for me to wrap my head around. We have millions being forced into using food banks, homelessness is increasing, child poverty during the cost of living crisis has reached massive highs, veterans living homeless on the street unable to access the support they need etc etc; yet all of the money which we are constantly told is not available to help our own citizens is ironically available for people who have never done a single thing to contribute to the United Kingdom in a positive way. This is f*cking madness. It's bonkers. We all know there are ways to stop the boats coming in. I for one would love to enact a workable plan to stop these illegal migrants from entering the country which would cost no more than £5 million to implement. Yet the government are not willing to listen to us and tell us they have it all under control when clearly they're in way out of their depth and haven't got a clue what they are doing. Worse this wanton waste of money, time and resources is costing this country hundreds of millions of pounds each year for a policy which just opens the floodgates to more new arrivals flooding into the UK on a daily / weekly basis.

Every person getting off those boats is a replacement for one of us. Demographics and birth rates predict us to be a minority in our own country by 2070. This is as serious as it gets and neither the Tories or Labour will do anything to stop it and even if it stopped completely tomorrow its already too late. The biggest insult is that we are paying for our own replacement and a very unstable future for our children.

Even if a migrant is genuine (not an economic migrant) we as a country can’t take all those in the world who are in distress. We MUST therefore, decide on how many we will help. Let’s have the debate and then make that difficult decision as a starting point for real policy. The UK is being irrevocably changed (harmed) while we go on bickering between ourselves.

the policy should be this. If the illegal immigrant has not attempted asylum claim in the last country they just left, their application should be automatically denied and all future claims that would speed up claims and stop anyone BS'ing their way in

The UK should have an effective coast guard than prevents them entering UK waters.

What happens if an asylum seeker breaks the law, (such as an attack on a woman) ends up in court, send down, when this person is let out, is on the sex register for ten years, what happens then? Are they deported? does the asylum process, become invalid? What about the rights of the woman not to be attacked? What about our rights, on the people born and bred here?

As these migrants are arriving from the channel and in the majority of cases brought in by the Lifeboats (even from French territorial waters) are illegal, surely the lifeboat crews are guilty of Aiding and Abetting the act of illegal immigration and should face the appropriate charges under the laws of the UK.

My wife is from NewCastle . She thought she left this all behind 10 years ago when she came to New York to marry me . We went through the ringer for her to become a legal citizen and all we wanted to do was get married . Now in NYC we have 1000 ILLEGALS a day coming here never mind the tens of thousands crossing the Southern Border everyday into the USA . To all the good people of the UK I feel your pain .

My colleague's brother was sent to the UK from Namibia. Once on the airport, he threw his visa and passport away and claimed assylum with a completely unfounded claim he is gay and in danger of being killed by members of the community. A local social worker and police officer were highly paid to support the claim. The UK put him through several programs to train him in 4 different carreers. Btw- every month he sends a lot of money home to his wife and kids to build a luxury house in the reservate. He also has a girlfriend and daughter in the UK. Gay? Not at all. Gays are generally completely safe and legally protected. She offered to arrange the same for my son. The only problem: my son is white. Will it work?

What is happening to my country by immigration is slowly breaking people’s hearts the system is being allowed by a government that doesn’t care about us The people. I am glad that my parents and grandparents cannot witness this sadness.

I came to the UK with a British partner, that I met on holidays in 2004. I arrived at the Airport with a passport and all the documents that the home office requested. 20 years living in the UK and never claimed a penny or benefits. I paid for my licences, trainings, proper documents, all legal. Working hard, paying taxes, etc, The home office cost me £1800 out of me pocket, so I I am legal here. Did get NOTHING for free. How on earth those scumbags, all men getting what they want for free? I have sympathy with all British people and feel sorry for them. Shame on the Gov and corrupt law

I truly hate this country at the moment. I've served in the Army 20 years ago and served several tours of duty. I'm no Hero I signed up for it. If I could go back to when I was 19 and could see into the future? I wouldn't bother. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇬🇧

As an Aussie with English great grandparents, I can’t come and live in the UK. Why are you allowing this?

As a Canadian I cannot immigrate to the UK (on ancestry visa) without documents, including documents of my parents/grandparents, without paying a hefty health surcharge, criminal check, and proof of funds to sustain myself. It really doesn't seem right. For every undocumented person they allow in they ought to give the same free privilege to a documented and checked Commonwealth citizen- do a draw for it, one for one. Keep the balance between honest people and criminals.

I recently saw an interview on the Dutch tv where a migrant was very enthusiastic about how great things are in the Netherlands. He concluded by saying, the only thing to make this even better is to make it islamic. They do not understand that the reason their countries are shit hole's is precisely because of that.

How many of you noticed that there are hardly any woman or children. Pretty much all of them are military age male!!!

I got an idea. These refugees should be told that since they were escaping terrible danger, once they are in Britain, they will not be permitted to travel back to their country of origin for ten years. See how they swallow that.
