I thought the Temple of Time was destroyed and rebuild wasn't it? In that process they could have also re structured and moderniced it as well

The Temple of Time is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series. It is revealed in Twilight Princess that there is an entire dungeon section to the temple, accessible from a portal hidden behind a window in the back room. With that fun fact out of the way, I'm a lil late to commenting but great video yet again my guy!!! Zelda! ZELDA! ZELDAAA!

Excellent theory! I never really paid attention to the fact that the temple of time was different in botw for some reason. I would probably assume that they built a different temple in another location and just happened to name it the temple of time. Idk though since I’m no Zelda theorist unfortunately lol.

The temple of time is actually korok forest. The pedestal of time is the one that Zelda leaves it in. That’s why it can fix/recharge the sword, holds access to a pocket dimension in the form of the trials/temple of light, and only link is able to use it as Fi knows who link is. The pedestal is made from a time stone that anchors the door of time. Removing the sword has always unlocked access to an alternate realm etc. the pedestal also has statute rep all the races of by Hyrule. Not sure what happened to the doorway, as a clear locus of infinite power it wouldn’t surprise me if the great Deku tree is kept alive by by the time door making him immortalish..like immortal unless killed by something with demise power etc. also remember the temple of light dungeon is found in the middle of the lost woods in twilight Princess? Like you have to fight a skull kid to get there:P just connect the dots. At some point the lost woods overtook the temple like in the downfall timeline, only someone recreated the deku tree/maybe moved the entire temple at once to the lost woods idk.

It could be acceptable to say that the temple of time from TP on is not the same as the one in OOT. BOTW, however, presents another inconsistency: King Rhoam states that the great plateau is the birthplace of the kingdom of Hyrule, which in my opinion means that the great plateau was the sealed grounds in SS. As we know, in the sealed grounds there was the temple of Hylia who would be later rebuilt into the OOT temple of time, and it was also where the statue of the goddess was located, not to mention the first hyrule castle which was nearby. In BOTW the location of the temple of time and the plateau is roughly the same as the one in TP, so we could guess that after the building was moved to its location in TP it was destroyed or it was just abandoned and reduced to ruins only to be rebuilt years later into what we find in BOTW. If the temples are not the same, then this contradicts what Rhoam says, so that the plateau can't possibly be the sealed grounds, as those should the at the center/north center of the map if we assume that the castle never changed its location. Either the castle was moved or it is just a matter of distance scaling, since maybe the distance between the citadel and the castle has always been that long but for obvious reasons we just could not see it in OOT because of console limitations.

The real temple of time from ocarina of time is in the destroyed castle town in Botw. It’s the building on the Far East side. It’s shaped just like it. The game calls it Hyrule Cathedral

I’m curious, since release of TotK, what you’re thoughts on the Temple of Time are now that there are two canonical temples of the same name coexisting? Interesting theory!

Well isn’t OoT Hyrule castle the Eastern Abbey ? (The ruins where the bomb shrine is located). To me the pedestal in the temple of time was moved by the Sheikah : they have the power to move it and in the trials of the swords you use the pedestal to access it. The Sheikah must have thought the Deku tree would be a better guardian to the master sword so he could guide the future hero. As an hommage to her grace the Sheikah put a statue of Hylia where the pedestal once was.
