NFS World actually was very similar when it came to content updates and releasing new rides and tuning options. It was just free-to-play so when it shut down there was a lot less outrage

Yeah the first two crew games to me were just way more fun to play than motorfest I think one of the main reasons were the larger maps and activities you could compete in, motorfest to me just kind of felt dead

If EA pulls the plug on NFS 2015 , the community can resurrect the game as well But I highly doubt that EA shut down the servers right now as it is that NFS MW 2012 is till boosting sales right now at the moment and online servers are still active

They didn't even need to add it. Offline mode was a feature that just needed to be enabled. Modders found it at some point or another, like it was a disabled development feature perhaps. IE Ubisoft only needed to patch it in, in some sort of "Sunset and goodbye" patch. They're literally using this situation as a way of asserting a precedence, that gamers don't own their games any more.

Not necessarily for local play with a server emulator - but yeah, I agree with you that restoring multiplayer with other players is most likely the next roadblock once all of the chapters of the game are playable once again.

@@DomP001 No. The person leading the operation said that they can't differentiate legal copies of The Crew and pirated ones. Since Ubisoft doesn't sell the game anymore, I say go wild.

Yeah would be much more driving around that map motorfests map just feels weird to me and too claustrophobic - also I really don’t like the ghost cars

Yeah the map was incredible to explore and I think it shows that while motorfest had the crew in its title it’s just not the same if the map is too small and the things to do are not as fun

I was like 9 when this released. I got a physical copy for Christmas and I put it into my Xbox One and waited until around midnight for it to install so I could finally play it. I am so hyped to be able to play through it again, This time though I'll probably have to procure a copy for PC, which will be interesting. Yar har.

ubisoft doesn't (or at least shouldn't) ..be able to do that When a piece of software (such as a game) gets ignored by the owner, isn't for sale anymore or license expires.. it becomes "abandonware" That means its effectively public domain.. or as wikipedia puts it.. "Within an intellectual rights contextual background, abandonware is a software sub-case of the general concept of orphan works"

@@probablyyourneighbororsome8412 Ofcourse I know what abandonware is. But, law is law, and the law says that software is under copyright for 95 years from the start of distribution. I have another youtube channel & RU-vid gave me a strike and removed a video of mine "How to play Fifa 1994 on Windows 10", and the reason was "Dangerous content", because of my Fifa 1994 mediafire link, they say I was "offering paid games for free" and I was unable to have the strike removed. This shows that abandonware is not as legal as it sounds, and the laws need some changes in this era of digital games. With how things stand right now, Ubisoft owns the copyright for a completely dead game, and their lawyer can send a cease and desist to the people who use their time and resources trying to revive the game as a free project.

The Crew 1 is really different from The Crew 2. Firstly, The map kinda looks better in the first one. Secondly, There are police, Which kinda works like Every other racing game with cops. (Still a lot of fun). Thirdly, There’s a story! And finally, it doesn’t have boats or planes.

Yeah it’s great this reminds me a bit of the great people who managed to archive a load of little big planet community levels that could be downloaded and played again after the servers were shut down, I’m really looking forward to playing the first crew game again I spent hours and hours exploring the map it always felt like a fun road trip whenever I started a new gameplay session

Yeah and much more fun to drive around than motorfests to me it felt like you had more freedom in the crew 1 and I preferred the activities you could do

Yeah that is what I am wondering as well maybe they give you a download link or something can’t wait to play the first crew game agin I had so much fun just cruising around and exploring the nice large us map

Yeah I actually sold the ps4 disc as I had the pc version but then of course the servers were shut down meaning the disc game and digital version of the game were absolutely useless and the game couldn’t even be played, I’m very much looking forward to this revival project
