My daughter passed away suddenly and I was looking for music for her Service. I googled christian songs with metal band and this song came up.(She enjoyed heavy metal and I never quite got it.) Amazing Grace sung by Dan Vasc was the first song played and his voice filled that room with reverence and a peace that passes all understanding. She took her own life but without a doubt God's Grace led her home. I listen to Dan everyday now and I smile at every song. Have become a fan of metal.

Dan knows how to take us to CHURCH….while bringing the house down, blowing our roof off, knocking us off our chairs, giving us a jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring performance!!!! Brother, it is totally fine to let the tears flow, and to let your soul be moved by God’s presence that comes through Dan’s voice to your heart….that is the heavenly gift Dan carries. I pray, brother that the Lord encourages your heart and eases the sorrow of your stepdad. May you feel joy and strength and know that your stepdad is still loving and blessing you with prayers and support as he is forever safe in the Lord’s presence. I was told to keep sharing my story. This song saved my life. I was in a dark place and fate made this appear as a suggestion for me to watch. I hadn't sobbed that hard in a while. Dan made me feel less alone in this world and that I'm not alone in trying our best everyday as flawed human beings. I'm not religious, but it felt like God hugged my heart. I hope someday he happens upon one of my comments. If he does, I want him to know how thankful I am for him. As Dan says, have an epic day!

Hi Mr. R & R. I discovered you many years ago and you quickly became one of my favorite reactors. That being said, I hadn’t seen any of your reactions in the last 15 months because I was fighting for my life. I went into cardiac arrest 7/27/22, my heart stopped, you only have a 10% chance of surviving that. Then the hospital gave me Covid. I spent 8 days in the Covid floor and on the 2nd day they told my family I wasn’t going to make it. I have had 5 genetic heart attacks, 3 cardiac arrests, and 3 different types of cancer, including a rare blood cancer now. Unfortunately I developed long haul covid, and it has been exactly like I have had covid for 15 months. I have been hospitalized too many times to count. So forgive me if I was absent for a while. When I just came across this reaction, I honestly didn’t recognize you!!! When I started following you, you always wore a baseball cap, and you would knock it off all the time and put it back on multiple times. You sure are looking very handsome and fine with your long hair, it is soooo flattering!! Definitely keep it long!!!! I am now headed to check out your band- I am embarrassed to say that I didn’t know you were in a band! That’s awesome! I wont be a stranger from now on. Take care!

I absolutely LOVE Dan's interpretation of this classic and beloved hymn!! He's got so much vocal and breath control! IMHO, he's the best tenor out there right now! The harmonica really gets me, too because my precious Granny played it beautifully. As I grew up we'd gather around the piano as a family, I'd play (and sing alto or 2nd soprano) and she'd play harmonica, while the rest of the family joined in. Priceless memories! I truly believe that all of Heaven stopped to listen when Dan sung this! God put him here to give people hope during these tumultuous times when there is so much fear, hatred, and despair in the world. Thank you for your opinion on this! Sorry to hear about your losses. Take comfort in knowing you'll see them again. Dan is a Christian. My first "encounter" with him was when I saw a notification that a metal singer was performing Amazing Grace. Being a Christian myself I had to watch immediately because I wasn't sure what to expect. It certainly wasn't this! Dan's is the most beautiful rendition I've ever heard. He is clearly an instrument of our Lord and several people have commented that they have either returned to God or have become believers after watching this video. Thank you for posting and for your wonderfully honest reaction. As an aside, the harmonica was given to Dan by his father, who was also a musician, when he was a child and was the first instrument Dan learned to play.

It’s truly touching to see another soul be touched by this rendition as I have. Blessings 💙 for honoring your step father in this way. I edit to add that his father passed away a few years ago and he recorded Elvis’s “American Trilogy “ in honor of his father who loved Elvis. That is another to react to. He also sang our National Anthem and received a lot of pushback for it. He then released an “apology “ that really speaks to who he is. The harmonica he plays was given to him by his father when he was 7 years old, so he treasures it. He is Brazilian.
