Weird that no one would chrome pot metal. You can chrome plastic ( I can understand why most places would not ). A lot of old emblems are chromed pot metal. Anyway, nice job. Turned out great.
i think you would have got a better finish by doing more by hand. i think the 800 grit was too harsh and has created a ripple effect. i see it when i go to shows where a D A sander has been used on bumpers and they no longer look straight. better to block it with a straight flat block first. although to be fair it is a nice improvement.
