I noticed how people kept underestimating Bolt's start. It looks like over 90% of the people have that wrong idea in mind that Bolt wasn't a good starter. Even Bolt's reaction time was elite and many don't realize it.
Bolts 2008 9.69 race was simply insane. He ran a 60m split of 6.32 with no wind, which shares it for 1st place as the fastest adjusted 60m split of all time with Su Bingtian 6.29 (which is also 6.32 wind adjusted). But Bolts reaction time was 2 hundreds of a second slower than Bingtian. Other than reaction time, there is no split from 0-200m that Bolt is not the greatest at
@@johnwood1631 Yohan Blake is definitely the second best ever, but he had a strong tail wind where Bolt ran into a headwind in his performance. If you’re gonna remove reaction times, then you also have to adjust the times to the wind and altitude.
Please do a video on Yohan Blake. I think he is an extremely underrrated runner yet he has the second fastest times in both 100m and 200m and his running mechanics, start and finish are also excellent.
The fact that Bolt was running his first 20m .05-.10 of a second fast faster than everyone from this year's Olympic finals is mindboggling to me given how much of a disadvantage he had (being so tall). And people think he was a bad starter? It's madness. That coupled with his unmatched top speed and it's easy to see how he was unstoppable lol
@@stephenwilliams7200 True 1. All World Records are meant to be Broken (including the Men’s 100m WR and the Men’s 200m WR) AND 2. You look like a BattiBoy. Literally. Lol. I think you should change your RU-vid Profile Pic. Cuz again, you look like a BattiyBoy. Lol. Take my advice. It’s for your own good.👍
As a Jamaican who is very critical of our own athletes Bolt is an Anomaly they can study all the want but it is virtually impossible to was what was and what caused . I do believe that you have the best breakdown on athletes. Please remember also Yohan Blake is the 2nd fastest man ever and yes until now no one has come close to him with the exception of Tyson Gay in the 100m but not the 200m
finnaly someone said it !! people think that his start was terrible beacause they see him sometimes stumble out the blocks , especially in his later years . just beacuse his start was worse than his top speed or speed endurance doesnt mean his start wasnt elite.
Yeah people always say he had a bad start, which is far from the truth. He was either ahead or with the pack in pretty much all his races. It wasn’t till 2016-2017 past his prime when his start start to really slow
It’s like people who say “Nadal isn’t good asides from when he’s on clay”. He still won 8 grand slams that weren’t on clay! Sometimes being the absolute best ever at a particular facet of your sport, makes people think you aren’t that good at the other facets.
Bolt would've dropped much faster times if he wasn't afraid of false starting after the world champs where he was DQ'd. That noticeably slowed his starts
Bolt winning the gold in 2008 in the 100m, breaking the record and celebrating 30 metres from the finish line is the GREATEST sporting moment in history.
Men's 100m is the only race where we can fairly assume at any given time whether there's any 15+ year old athlete who might in their career beat the WR. Maybe opinion on what the age cutoff should be differs, but the general audience definitely agrees it's the seemingly most untouchable record for now - and maybe will still be in 20 years.

I hope KING Noah Lyles achieves this Goal🇺🇸👑🥇
he celebrated at 85m, which is beyond where he reaches his top speed, so no, he wouldve still reached a lower top speed and run a slower time in general
Your wrong. Usain bolt literally started to slow down right at the 60m mark, where he split 6.32, and at about 7.5 seconds into the race, he started to celebrate, pumping his chess in joy of dominance , because he realised that asafa Powell (who was at the time his strongest competition) was far behind into the race. 👌🏾
@@aaronmbaye6498 he celebrated when the on screen timer hit like 8.2, and the on screen timer is delayed lol, stop exaggerating to make it sound cooler
2008 Bolt was his true prime year, No injuries at all. In facts i bet he would have put a tremendous gap between him and Yohan blakes 9.69 and ryson gay 9.71, you herd it 👌🏾.
He could have ran all out in ‘08 and been below his current record. Ato Bolan said ‘he threw away a 9.59’. Had he not slipped in the ‘12 Games, his coach said he could have had 9.48. They just need to stop over-hyping newbies. Bollin, Coleman, Lyles and, Knighton were to be “The next Usain Bolt.”
The only way I see bolt’s records being broken is if another athlete with a similar build to him comes on the track scene, although anything can happen
Would be interesting to know that the lower stride frequency combined with the higher top end speed plus time off the ground and his large size means the force he is applying to the ground to propel himself is the key metric that this video doesn’t even mention. Do the studies estimate this force?
Bolt had so much power. His longer strides at the start acted similar to a coil unspringing. There's more to unspring, and it'll do so with more force. In car terms, his horsepower was out of this world compared to his peers. Was it more difficult for him to execute because each individual step had a much greater impact on his overall race? Absolutely. But that goes to show that he wasn't just supremely gifted, but his skill, technique, and hard work went into perfecting those strides.
I will tell you. I remember the first time I was able to break 11 seconds the week before I did it man. I was running, and I straight up thought I was flying Bros, and one of the scariest things I thought I couldn't control it. I was like, dude, that was crazy.I had never felt that before. That week I ran my first ten nine. It's truly something most people will never be able to feel, but it's totally a different speed. You're literally flying. It's insane.
The only part were Bolt is not intouchable is speed maintenance. His start, drive, acceleration, top speed are unmatched. If we are picky, only his 80-100 m is his " weak point ". Note the use of "😂 😂😂
I saw a completely broken analysis of one of Bolt's starts. If you analyse the start you realise that what he is doing is actually helping him make up for his tall stature at the start. I think at times Bolt was somewhat conservative at starts hence why most believe he wasn't a good starter.
“Scientists to predict” how stupid! Maybe they can predict the lotto numbers while they’re at it! Usain should have a kid with Shelly-Ann, that would do it!
wow - this is eye opening. I've watched all of his races - and your right - I guess i never thought his start was that great but when you really look - he was killing it. What a great video!!
It might be another 25+ years before anyone takes down his 100m time, Lyles is still to go under 19.3 and btw Blake is the second fastest @the 200 that guy was special too but always in Bolts shadow
bolt definitely was NOT slowing down by 60m lol, if you wouldve mentioned the wind being 0 as opposed to +0.9 in berlin or even the slower reaction time it wouldve made more sense but he started celebrating at like the mid 80s in terms of meters, no impact on his 0-60m split
So Bolt went from over 10s to 9.69 in just one year while already an adult. 9/10 of the other top 10 all time were all suspended for doping or whereabouts failures, and Bolt does 9.69 clean after being not sub 10 the previous season. hmmmmmm I have a bridge to sell yall in brooklyn.
Finally someone said it. Amazing how everyone is skeptical of this new marathon world record but blinds accepts his 100m and 200m WRs with a higher WA score.
A study saying “never” is just nonsensical. With better training, medical support, equipment and of course PEDs, somebody will certainly surpass him at some point.
The human body has a theoretical limit for every discipline in athletics. Throughout every single discipline, no athlete has ever gotten closer to this theoretical limit than Bolt, and he did it twice. I agree with never say never, but reaching such theoretical limits requires such an incredible amount of factors to line up perfectly that his records may, realistically speaking, last forever.
