My Uncle was a vet for 30 yrs. He said even though the seeds are NOT on the toxic list you still SHOULD NOT feed them to Tuck. Also a VERY SMALL amount of Paw Paw can be given to Tuck, BUT not to give him large amounts because it can lead to vomiting and diarrhea in dogs, with Tuck being so Tiny this could be very dangerous to him. 💖💓💞💕💟💝🐕🐕🐕 Love little Tuck, and ABSOLUTELY love all your videos and teaching skills. Interesting. As an Australian, what we call "paw paw" is otherwise known as a papaya. I was a little perplexed that you were calling this fruit a paw paw. Searched an Australia-based fruit tree supplier's website and it seems that this is what we would call a "(North) American paw paw". I've never heard of or seen such a fruit so thank you for this awesome video.

I was born and raised in rural South East Indiana. We had a Paw Paw tree in our backyard, never got fruit and it eventually died. Never got the chance to try one, however we had four seedless persimmon trees, yum pass them out to anybody will take them after we froze the pulp. Those root vegetables at tuck eats probably help clean his teeth. Thanks for sharing your knowledge again!

The gardening community is really a generous one. Recently I purchased some purple sweet potato slips from a local gardener. While there she gave me a free stevia plant. In return i gave her some deer horn ochro seeds. That same day she gave me some carrot sweet potato slips, sweet tamarind plants and vine potato. I'm sure this will go on for a while.

Also , studied vet med and worked at a kennel for years...I’d avoid feeding Tuck any fruits with seeds in them or fruit in large amounts but ,as far as I know, skinless seedless paw paws should be ok. Just to be sure, ask your vet 😉 Love the channel and your garden helper

I have read up quite a bit on giving dogs fruit and mostly from what I have read it seems the seeds are the problem. I always take out the seeds of all the fruit I give my dogs but fruit is a treat. I never give them anything without researching if it's ok which I suggest other dog owners do before giving their dogs anything new.

My property here at the western edge of New York State has the largest stand of wild pawpaws in the state. Mine average six to eight inches in size, and have a distinctive caramel-chocolate flavor (I sell most of them to a company that makes them into ice cream). Question: Why don't you eat the skin? It's thin and as tasty as the skin on a pear; also, it's also where most of the nutrients and medicinal properties are located. Try it, and leave your spoon in the kitchen!

Grapes bad for dogs. Paw paw fruit for dogs same as mangoes. No seeds and just a bit because can cause diarrhea. Tuck knows the deal. He always goes for the veggies and that will keep his teeth healthy🌻🐾🐕 Tuck, boy oh boy, you eat better than I do..... LoL 😁😊💖🐕🐾💕🌿🌿🌿 Those paw paw remind me of Cherimoya. 😋

This is my favorite video on paw paw trees so far! I love the fact about George Washington. I bought two paw paw trees from a local nursery but don’t know if they can pollinate each other as they are likely the same variety..? Would love to understand more about the pollination.

Little advice, don’t just leave the to sit as they end up ripening as one side will ripen more than the other, keep turning them a 1/4 turn every day to even it out. They do that with a certain type of mango

The garden volunteers are the most fun . I tried growing a paw paw about 10 years ago but the area was too wet. I no longer have that problem. Maybe I'll get another or 2.

I just ordered 50 seed for pawpaw. I was able to 'obtain' about 50 American persimmon seed from some coyote scat I found when wondering about our 10 acre plot! Trying to add more native fruit trees to my mini orchard! You and your cameraman, my dears, have been an invaluable resource and confidence builder! Just "do the things"! And do them with JOY!

Coyotes eat persimmon?

@pamelabratton2501 2 года назад
@@clobberelladoesntreadcomme9920 Yup, they also eat berries and all kinds of stuff I never knew about. Berries and veg in the spring summer, and meat in the winter. I had to look it up!

Your dog is smart! Neither of our two dogs would eat radishes though they did enjoy eating carrots, beats and potatoes.

Love your puppy Keep him safe This is what I found Paw paw ointment is not toxic to dogs and it can be soothing and form a protective layer on sore skin. If seeds or a a large amount is eaten however it has the potential to cause vomiting or diarrhea. It won't treat bacterial or yeast infection.

Paw paw is one of the few fruits that contain complete protein, another plus. I get hundreds of fruits every September from only two trees, because I hand pollinate them. I investigated whether they can be dehydrated, and the answer is no. Eating dehydrated paw paws can cause severe gastrointestinal distress.

The truth you speak is incredibly inspirational! Everyone should learn how to grow at least something. It teaches you responsibility and caring and you get the nutritional benefits of growing your own food versus wasting money and buying mass-produce low nutrition food. It also helps provide an environment formore of our Heavenly father's creatures to habitate.
